I battle with depression and body image issues. This book can around right when I needed it. The author makes no claims to be able to fix your problems. The book is designed instead to give you the tools and encouragement needed to start practicing self love. One thing I'm doing right now is mirroring. I only look in the mirror if neck and I've stopped taking pictures years ago. The mirroring technique is slowly allowing me to not only accept who I am and how I look but also appreciate it. And of course you take care of what u appreciate 😊
This is now the second book I’ve read from this author, and I actually like this one a lot more. While her other book was quite redundant as far as Rachel Hollis’s writing, this one is more unique. Although you can definitely tell, she reads Rachel Hollis, quite a bit, this one is reminiscent of other authors as well, such as Gabrielle Bernstein. If you are a fan of these other authors, I definitely recommend you check this one out.
A well-researched and thoughtful read with many very helpful tools and practices to incorporate; some of them one-time sort of troubleshooting, and others that can and should be easily done on a daily basis. Motivational in the tone of a big sister or best friend with all of the vulnerable honesty that endears you and makes you want to listen because she’s saying, I’ve been there! Beautifully done.
