Heidi’s family vacation has sunshine and magic in the air in this thirty-fifth Heidi Heckelbeck adventure!
Heidi and her family are taking a trip to the Castle Spell Cove, a special place where Heidi’s mom and Aunt Trudy used to visit when they were kids. Once there, Heidi makes friends with an unusual girl named Sunny who has a magical secret of her own that will change Heidi’s life forever.
With easy-to-read language and illustrations on almost every page, the Heidi Heckelbeck chapter books are perfect for beginning readers.
Heidi and her family are on vacation at Castle Spell Cove. Heidi was just wishing that she had a friend who also had experience with magic, when she discovers that the vacation spot is a special place for magical families. She makes a new friend named Sunny on the beach, and Heidi and Sunny share magical frustrations and skill tips.
It is fun for the Heckelbecks to have a story in which they can use all the magic they want and not worry about who sees. Sunny is a good friend for Heidi, and highlights a desire many readers will share, of having a friend who can know their deepest secrets and still be a friend. Their beach adventures involve a lot of things non-magical readers can also do at the beach. A very enjoyable vacation with the Heckelbecks.
Another proof-read for my little sister. l read this one before the other one. The thing that bothers me about this one is that this friend she meets draws the magic from within herself, not the fun usual spellbook Heidi uses. Anyway, all that to say (this and my other review for book #34). l'm not very impressed with this series, and even through l didn't have long-term effects from it, l don't think young kids should be reading books that are teaching them these things. :)
Book #35 in the series. Heidi's family heads for a special beach to take a vacation. It's a space where witches relax and meet others like them. Heidi meets a new friend who helps her work on her magic. They connect and have a wonderful time together. Love the hint on who Heidi thinks she sees leaving as they all head home. A fun and lighthearted series.
Heidi had just wished for a witch friend her very own age when Aunt Trudy announces that their all going to Castle Spell Cove. While there, Heidi meets Sunny, a girl her age who is really good at making big elaborate sand castles. It turns out that Heidi and Sunny have way more in common than Sunny thought.
When I was younger I had a book about Heidi and I thought it was really cute ♥ I saw "Sunshine Magic" and "The secret's out!" recently in a free library and knew I had to pick them up! ♥
