Rebuild Worlds remains one of my favorite SF light novel series, granted there are not many in that genre in the first place, but I find it actually a great read. The world isn't particularly unique, but it has some great characters with some good depth and development to them. In this volume not as much Akira (in the character development part anyway), but we do get to see Sheryl. I am rooting for her even if I suspect her chances are slim. Some great action as well.
The plotting behind the scenes feels a bit convoluted, working a bit too much with the conniving manipulative femme fatale trope or the joker type (chaos for chaos sake, even if that is not the sole motivation). Ultimately not too important to the story, but just one of those tropes I am not a huge fan of. Mind you, whether we know their true motivations is up for grabs. It wouldn't be the first time in this series, and which is one thing I do like about it.
So, yeah, great read, and looking forward to the next volume.
I like the series but I think I may becoming to my end reading along.
The MC character doesn't really grow due to his dependence on another character. It is fine in the beginning of the series. I would like to see that some of his experiences had long lasting effect. The plot will have him apparently grow stronger but then it has to have an enemy where his growth really isn't all that much later in the plot.
I also think that a young teen would have some romantic interest by now. It would be intersting to see a spark with one of his rival's love interests.

The most promising light novel series I'm following right now. And one of the most fleshed out sci-fi books I've read to date. This installment continues the winning streak five volumes in, I'm hopeful it will keep me hooked
