Aycrishi Sodality #1

Priestess: A Monster Girl Fantasy Adventure

Rate this book
Sometimes, dungeon cells aren’t so bad
I was hanging out with some buddies, doing a little caving, when everything went south. When I woke up, I was in some kind of medieval dungeon. Totally naked and in the dark.

Luckily, I had a neighbor in a cell near me. One with a decidedly sexy feminine voice. When she explained to me that she was due to be executed and I was in line to be brainwashed, there was only one thing to do.

We had to escape.

Now, I’ve never been a Houdini type or any kind of super warrior, but once I got a look at my fellow prisoner, I knew I had to help her get free. Now I’m fleeing through a monster infested hellhole called the Dreadlands with the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever met. Oh, and did I mention she has furry ears and a tail? Yeah. H-O-T!

This was just the start. I was hit rapid-fire with a bunch of other surprises. Starting with my magnificent fox girl being a priestess of a sex goddess. Uh-huh. Followed closely by the news that her fellow priestesses were being hunted to extinction. She needed my help.

Maybe, just maybe, I’d give this world a try before figuring out how to get back home.

Warning: This book includes medieval violence, sexy monster girls and beastkin, harem/unconventional relationships, and detailed adult activity. If none of that is your thing, you probably shouldn't pick up this book. If it is your thing, you definitely need to give this series a try. You won't be disappointed.

Couldn't finish it. This series hits several negative tropes you can find in both harem and isekai storytelling.

Long, drawn-out chapters about the MC before he makes it to the other world. What could only be guessed as a way to flesh out the MCs character only served as a lot of pointless backstory.

Transported to a world where every other male is reduced to a slave or a drone, leaving the MC to be the "best guy" by default.

The amazing data dump in the beginning to set the stage and answer the what, when, where, why, and how of the story, which is told in a jail cell by whom is likely one of the first female love interest in the potentially very linear story.

Ok writing but the story really never went anywhere. Simple plot.

The writing was ok, but the plot is this...
Guy ends up on world in a jail cell, escapes and continues to escape the entire book. During the escape which is going from a to b every other chapter is talking about a possible relationship, wanting relationship, having a relationship...
The main character is just dumb that he doesn't understand he's the only guy in the world with his own mind. 400 pages in he is still asking if a girls are interested in him in a relationship. Yet the entire book The strong women with their own agency do nothing but compliment him and tell him they wish to have a relationship. Honestly it could have been told in 100 pages, obviously the genre will attract some for the relationship encounters... However 400 + pages of basically crossing the world with no real danger as she never felt like the main characters were going to die. It was okay but kind of forgettable.

I am only writing one review for the entire Aycrishi Sodality Series. I read the whole thing in a week. So it's really only one very long book in my mind.

I don't normally read erotica. I had to add an erotica shelf to my Goodreads. It isn't that I don't want to read erotica, it just normally doesn't interest me in the slightest. However, late one night I wanted to read some pulpy fantasy book, so I clicked on Amazon's overpriced Kindle Unlimited book list. And I'm scrolling through looking for something, and getting seriously annoyed at a lack of options. I see the foxy fox-girl on the cover, and decide, ah good enough and download it, hoping it isn't complete dreck.

But you see, I didn't realize it was going to be straight-up erotica. If I had read a review or even looked at the title a bit more critically, I would never have picked it up. No stranger to anime and light novel bullshit, I was expecting sexy times and titillations, but not avid descriptions of anatomy and fluids.

I quickly realized my mistake, but it didn't really matter. The world that was being described was pretty interesting. The characters were interesting. The protagonist wasn't cardboard. I found myself invested in the people of the story. I skimmed over most of the sexual stuff as the story went on, making sure not to miss anything that might be character related, because there was a fair bit of that. But the part that made me really take notice was the absolute ecstatic active consent that the MC displays and asks for. The women are almost always happy to do whatever he wants, but in instances where they seem shy or not interested in an act, he gladly, happily shifts to cuddling or canoodling or something that they do consent to. And he is legitimately concerned about the Sexual Assaults being committed by mind control against all of the men.

I don't know who this book is for, exactly. It's mostly a straight guy sexual fantasy, but I don't know a lot of straight guys who read erotic fiction. One guy lots of girls. There are some orgies, some all female twosomes, some three and foursomes with the MC. But everything with the MC is so loving, so caring with so many weddings and some pregnancies by the end. It's almost all safe monster girls, nothing really weird except the Lamia in the last book, but even that isn't extremely strange, just mostly regular girl parts more or less where you would expect them.

But despite all of that the books are way better fantasy fiction than they have any need to be.

At my request I received a copy of this audiobook in order to give a fair and unbiased review.

Genre: Fantasy Isekai with harem like relationship open to outside women.

Power dynamics in harem: MC is only man with a brain in the world. Girls wants him. MC respects his women and take his time and follows the speed they are each comfortable with.
Explicit/adult material: Explicit. Hot. Kitsune, Orc, bunny girl. Starts slow in this aspect, but catches up.

Summary:
When cave climbing with his friends Adam has an accident and falls deep into the dark. He wakes up in a cell in a different world. Captured by stupid ogres and monsterly women. In the next cell is a woman with a beautiful voice.
And together they plan to escape before their captor can brainwash and kill them.

Narrators
Voice diversity: The voice diversity is limited, but I was never in doubt about who said what, so it was not something I thought about until now during my review.
Pacing and intonation: Excellent. The use of inflection, pacing and intonation makes for a immersive and gripping storytelling.
Sex scenes: Works really well.
The narrators were new to me, but they sound seasoned. Great narration!
Overall: 4.5 / 5 stars.

The book’s strengths.
- All the girls are distinct in personality, skill sets and visually. The book does a great job of building up separate relationships with the girls.
- The world building works well introducing different factions and their interest naturally throughout the story.
- MC is neither a chad or a pathetic loser. Just a normal guy in a strange circumstance.
- Great narration

The book’s weaknesses.
- For some the fact that one of the girls has sex with women outside of the harem (at least for now) can be a weakness. It did not bother me at all.

Overall: 4/5 stars
A strong first book in a series, let alone from an author. I look forward to see where the series goes from here!

Adam's in a bad patch in his life. HIs job isn't exactly fulfilling, and his fiancee dumped him for a guy who lives in his parents' basement. Not sure what to do and needing a change, Adam goes back to his hometown to spend time with friends and they go caving, a favorite hobby of his. Something goes wrong, and the last thing he can remember is falling.

He wakes up in a dungeon cell, and slowly it sinks in he's not in Kansas, or on Earth, anymore. Adam finds himself in a world of beast-kin and monster girls, and he and a sexy fox priestess of a sex goddess manage to escape and go on the run. Adam discovers men are enslaved in this world, and that he, for whatever reason, is stronger and faster then he used to be.

They gradually collect a few more fellow adventurers, all drop dead gorgeous females of course, and Adam learns a lot more about this world. I'll give points to the writer that consent is very important to the story, and Adam isn't just some sex-crazed stud.

It's a decent, simple fantasy read, with violence and sex.

Tremendously bad

I don’t even know where to start with this. Calling the MC a pathetic loser feels like an insult to pathetic losers. He, or the author, are obviously hyper indoctrinated by feminism today. The MC has women almost literally throwing themselves at him, but he still wants to stop and talk about their feelings or get permission first! He basically cowtows to every woman he sees. Honestly this is written like a fantasy of an incel simp. He writes what he wants to happen, but also includes self flagellation for daring to want it!

The world is just idiotic. There is no way a society could be engineered like that. They even clarified it couldn’t be magically induced since magic weakened. Nature and instincts, especially with animalistic species, would not accept that type of society.

The plot armor is so thick I’m pretty sure it would laugh off a nuke at this point.

Oh wow!! I’m so glad I didn’t give up on this book! It does start off a bit slow, but this is the first book in the series!! Once we get out of the dungeon, lol, the story picks up and so does the smut! Lots of flirting and guys you will let blue balls like our MC, but the payoff later will be delicious.

My favorite character was the orc girl even though she is more human than orc. My only complaint was the names but I’m glad I read this through audible mostly. 4.5/5!!

ENTERTAINING READ

Adam falls through a portal to a new world where he finds danger and absolutely gorgeous women. The first one he meets is a fox girl who is a priestess in service to a sex goddess. Shenanigans, battle, and lust/love ensue. The action builds in a crescendo to the end. I like the action, humor, and love. I look forward to another book.

Read this by accident - meant to read the one by Kara Reynolds - and decided to give it a chance. I like a spicy fantasy like anyone else, but this felt gratuitous. Like a teenage boys’ fantasy about all women being super hot and, you guessed it, they all want to sleep with him. Not for me, but maybe for thee.

Interesting and fun

That was a fun book with plenty of twists and turns to add to a good story. Even with all the dirty talk I still enjoyed the book. There was still a good story to go skiing and I hope more comes out!

DNF, 33%

Boring story. Guy get isekai'd, finds himself in a prison, gets out and so far just some world building back story without too much else going on. Gave up at 33% since nothing much was going on and the book didn't suck me into the story/lore.

Mostly porn.

The worldbuilding was sort of ridiculous, but the worldbuilding isn't the point here.

A very good and introductory book to this new series with plenty of action, adventure, danger, mystery, magic, suspense, violence, and romance. Eager for the next book.

Fun read, good story line

Phil Aerix has a great imagination to come up with a plot that out does any erotic scene, to keep you wanting to find out what the next chapter will bring.

I tried but it was so predictable and unnecessarily long. The mc acted like a horney virgin that could hardly focus on walking dnf

This turned into a really enjoyable beginning to a series.

The MC gets knocked out in caving accident on Earth and wakes up in a dungeon *somewhere*. He rapidly figures out that he is not in Kansas anymore -- and there are various beastkin.

The initial world-building explanations are handled by the disembodied voice of a female prisoner. And, yeah, sure, everyone speaks English. Hey -- it's fantasy.

The MC winds up being the only mentally-functional male on the planet, and the female government wants to enslave or kill him. His prisonmate is a foxkin sex priestess (life is good, right?). Later (well, harem adventure, right?) he picks up an orc girl and a bunnykin girl. And there are a LOT of other sex priestesses around.

Lots of fun. Really, a whole lot. For some reason, I found a bunch of the story dragging in the middle (sort of odd when they are running for their lives through it), I think because so much of it is the MC being annoyingly sexually hesitant.

The last quarter of the book, however, got very, very action-packed.

Anyways, no, this is not literature for the ages. But it is a very good read, especially near the end.
