FIND PEACE FOR YOUR UNSETTLED SOUL Rest for Your Soul meets you in the middle of your overwhelmed life. Join Wendy as she walks you through how to find your way back to the peace and calm you’ve been searching for so that you can feel “normal” again. She will encourage and equip you to creatively connect with God through three holy habits—solitude, silence, and prayer. Habits that will shift your perspective, take your eyes off your unsettledness, and fix them on God—the only One who can bring you peace through His powerful, healing, life-transforming Word. This study InScribed is a collection of studies that lead women to not just survive but thrive by encouraging them to immerse themselves in the Word of God.
I very much enjoy Wendy's teaching and her perspectives. There are several spaces for personal reflection, solitude, silence, and prayer with God within the book. There are a couple of rather lengthy sections that would take much diving into the Bible and reflection that I will be going back to at a much slower pace. I also am appreciative of the prayer at the end for different circumstances we face in life.
Wendy was struggling and came up with a plan to get through some hard things. Being still and practicing solitude are keys. Encouragement, memorizing scripture and praying. Great prayers to pray are included. Will keep this nearby to refer back to.
Author Wendy Blight is a well-studied Bible teacher who also has a story worth listening to. She draws from her own experience to lead the reader into a deeper practice of prayer.
Rest for Your Soul by Wendy Blight was one of the most practical and soul-changing books I have read. It is divided into three parts: Part 1 focuses on understanding the need for rest and the role of God in it, Part 2 delves into the practical steps to establish a restful rhythm in your life, and Part 3 shares personal stories and experiences that will inspire and encourage you. Full of life experience and tried-and-true practices that have brought healing to the author's heart and life, you will be guided to make significant changes to your time with God. Making time to come away and spend time with God is refreshing; it takes time and practice to establish this rhythm in your life. However, Wendy will walk you through the easy steps to do so. This book has positively impacted my time with God and my prayer life and comes with my highest recommendation.
I read this book as part of an online Bible study over the course of 6 weeks. The content is so very dense and rich, that it really should have been spread out over another month or two. The author has a wonderful way with words and is a gifted prayer warrior. There are so many wonderful bonus resources in this book — journal prompts, prayers for many circumstances, Bible verses to memorize and even recipes. This would be a great book for any woman experiencing physical, emotional or spiritual fatigue and weariness.
This book has so much to offer. So many take aways, yes I just finished it but I want to go back and deep, dive into, certain parts. Wendy does a great job of sharing Biblical truth and weaving in stories of life and friends, of disappointment, of trust. She invites us to study and learn scripture. Highly recommend.
Quiet time with the Lord is so important. I need to give more time every day. It is a process. Never perfection. Since reading this book, I have discovered more Bible verses to memorize. They are on my phone. I need to remember to look at them during the storm. Usually, days later, I remember the verse and reflect on it during my quiet time. As I said, It is a process.
While the book overall had a lot of great information I felt it was too much shoved into one book. To adequately do what’s asked of you you’d have to spend months on a single page or section taking quite a long time to finish out the book.
What a wonderful Bible study! Wendy Blight is an amazing Bible teacher. She gave me so many tools that will help me to grow in my faith and help me to trust in God.
This is a wonderful Bible study. Solitude, silence and prayer are important in our life, if you’re like me you may struggle with all three. Let Wendy Blight guide you with personal stories, tips and scriptures to help you improve in accomplishing these goals. I improved over a 6 week period and have implemented this as part of my morning quiet time. It does make a difference. This is a book I will refer to often.
