Parts of this year have been pretty stressful so I thought this would be a good read for my decotional time, not because I don't already know that my peace needs to be rooted in God but because sometimes it's just helpful to be reminded. In general, this was what I was hoping it would be and I found it encouraging.
From a writing perspective, it was pretty well done, though I felt that there were ways it could have been longer and gone deeper, and a couple places that could have used trimming. But again, it did its job of reminding me of the Lord’s goodness in difficult times.
Excellent read. Understanding Jesus’ words, “Do not worry,” is often difficult in a world of anxiety, fear and uncertainty. But, through reading this book, one can see the heart of God and what is meant by those challenging words. He loves us, cares for us and promises that He will meet our every need. Our cares are His cares. “At the end of the day, the reminder of the Scriptures is that, although we may have plenty of reasons to fear (and worry), we have no need to fear. The Lord our Shepherd is with us.”
