Are you trying hard to hold life together but having trouble not falling apart?
Often we celebrate King David as a “man after God’s own heart,” which he was, but the truth is his spiritual successes sat side by side with anguish, brokenness, and tragic wrongdoing. Just like our own spiritual highs and lows. In four sections of ten psalms each, Harold Myra leads you through David’s victories as a young adult, the challenges of his early kingship, his sinful downfall and repentance, and the lasting consequences of his pride and injustice.
Harold Myra brings you alongside David to pray through the songs of David's heart. This journey reveals how you too can bring your difficulties and celebrations to God in prayer.
As a leader of Christianity Today International, Harold has been instrumental in creating an extremely successful nonprofit organization. Behind his leadership CTI has vastly expanded the number of magazines it publishes and the audience it reaches. The CTI website explains that more than 2.5 million readers currently receive the organization's 11 publications that include Christianity Today, Leadership Journal, Campus Life, Today's Christian Woman, Marriage Partnership, Christian History & Biography, Your Church, Today's Christian, Books & Culture, Christian Parenting Today, and Men of Integrity. In addition, CTI reaches additional people with these online offerings: PreachingToday.com, BuildingChurchLeaders.com, and the Christianity Today online magazine.
Not entirely about fear and how to overcome (the title can be a bit misguiding in my opinion), however a wonderful read about David's life. Beautifully written and is a short read for those with busy schedules.
