as you’d expect from Sam

Sam Pope…ones man army only this time with a little help.
Good story line factored from previous encounters…nice line running through the whole book.

Fast paced all the way

Another explosive read taking down numerous people who want Sam dead to claim the bounty. The reason it's not 5* is because of the repetitive previous information from other books. I think the author needs to say the books should be read in order. It's a bit annoying but moving past that, it's a brilliant read.

I enjoyed this book although as Sam gets older I have to wonder how much more his body can take. I wish the author had fitted in a backstreet doctor he could go to who was on his side! Here's my biggest complaint about this book and it might not bother or even be noticed by some readers: the book could have used a more careful editor. There too many places where there was an incorrect pronoun, a run on sentence or one that required me to reread to get the continuity. Poor editing actually made me stop reading a popular series some years ago. I hope the next book is a small step above. I know I sound nitpicky but this is a really good series although it frequently asks for a leap of faith on the part of the reader.

I live in Oakwood Derby

I’ve read 9 sam pope books so far and loved them all but this book was set in my home town, your description of Oakwood was spot on btw, I shop at Asda Spondon every week, I’ve walked down midland road to the train station. Ive family who live in Spondon, and I’ve walked down the high street.
I’ve read thousands of books but never one set in my town, thank you for the experience, I felt like I was part of the story.
It’s good to know Sam Pope has been in my neck of the woods 😊

If you’re looking at this book you know sam, his History, style of writing, the body count ( the seemingly ubiquitous ‘gun pressed against his spine’ line. But this book, in my opinion reset the bar much higher. More detail, more characters with more definition and a superb story building to an even more superb climax. Take the best book before this one and you have maybe half what this book is. Best yet by far. The standard has been set Robert - can you keep it up? :).

Another great read, and non stop action. I am delighted to hear the next instalment of Sam Pope, Out of Reach will be available towards the end of January 2023. Sam Pope is trying to recover from his latest battles when Dana Kovelenko puts a 3 miilion pound bounty on him and 3 teams are trying to collect. He is relaxing at a favorite diner when the first group attacks and he is able to escape after killing one of them. Fast paced ever changing great reading

So far I have not been disappointed in the first nine Sam Pope’s stories. Easy read and storyline has many twists and turns. You all will definitely enjoy the series. I know I have.

finally something fresh. I still maintain my complim about too many repeated scar counts, repeating flashbacks 2 or 3 times a book, going into long rants on a memory as filler paragraphs which in total can be 15% of the book which should ideally be less than 5%.

An old name comes back to haunt Sam. He finds a huge price on his head and he needs to cut the contract off at the top. As he is pitted against the best of the best, the pieces start to fall together.
