I keep trying FF and it keeps disappointing. This was just mundane. I hoped the who-done-it plot would keep me interested but I skimmed. Super predictable and the characters were bland. Also hope I never have to read the word “glory” again. 😵💫
Merida is a bike mechanic in Summit Springs. Two decades before, she was a different person, with a different name, in a different part of the US. But after she came out, her family’s hostility put her in danger. So she packed up her things into her car and drove. Tam is something of an enigma. Retired from the FBI after an assignment went badly wrong, she now lives alone in Summit Springs’ most notable area. Her only companion is her guard dog Fitz. This is a lovely story, with many well researched and interesting points. It does contain some homophobia, danger and violence, but that isn’t a big part. Overall, it’s a good romance, sometimes moves very fast with little explanation, but well worth reading.
Tam Grimes is a retired FBI agent and profiler who has lived in Summit Springs for two years. When her bike chain tries to eat her leg she limps to the bike shop and meets Merida Roark. They have a connection for the first moment. When the past comes back to haunt Merida Tam pulls out all her contacts to save her. A wonderful mid-life romance.
This is a good read, the characters spot on. Just the right amount of ainxt to make the plot twist from an early happily ever after to the nail biter scenes until the real HEA.
