Hot guys, big hearts, Sue's world. Sue Brown is a Londoner with a dream to live on a small island. Coffee fuels her addiction to writing romance with hot guys loving each other, and her Adorkadog snores in harmony as she creates.
Bear in Boots is the seventh and final, book in the ‘Bearytales in the Wood’ series. This stars Brad Brenner, second eldest of the Brenner boys, and Eric, an ex-Kingdom boy. This is told in third person from both Brad and Eric’s povs.
Here’s a short rundown of the plot. This is a second chance romance. Brad is the last brother to find his boy. The one he wanted was Eric who showed up for Lyle’s birthday party but then left. Eric returns about a year later, but doesn’t remember anything about his past or who the brothers or who their boys are. Eric was supposed to go away for art college, but was hit by a truck and ended up with amnesia. He’s been sent to the mountain to illustrate Brad’s book of poetry.
There isn’t really any conflict in this story between Brad and Eric, unlike between the brothers and boys in the other books in this series. It’s a very simple romance. It felt to me like this book was just meant to be a wrap-up of the series, to have Brad find his boy, and to give us an explanation about Brad’s poetry and bomb building, and to give closure to Aaron about his horrible mother. To me the scenes seemed to brush over the surface and didn’t have much depth or feeling, the scenes progressed too fast. The first chapter was pretty much the exact same chapter as the previous book except from someone else’s pov. I thought the epilogue was the best part, it was sweet and tied everything up well.
The story did leave an opening for having either, I can’t remember which, Damien or PJ figure out if they were still going to run the Christmas farm because they couldn’t do it all by themselves since the other brothers have their own occupations now. If the author wanted, there could be a spin-off from this series about the Mountain. The other possibility of a spin-off would be the two brothers and Jack who do investigative work off the Mountain.
Bear in Boots is a quick and easy read with no real conflict. I didn’t think it had as much depth as the other books, but if you’re looking for a simple romance, this works. I give this story, 3 Stars.
I received an ARC from the author and am giving my honest and unbiased review.
Bear In Boots is the seventh book in the Bearytales in the Woods series by Sue Brown. It's the story of Brad and Eric. I loved their story. It was sweet, full of feels and very well written. It's also the last story in the Bearytales in the Woods *sad face*. I loved this series so much. If you haven't read it yet start with Snow Twink!
3.5 stars. This is the last book of a lovable series about the seven Brenner brothers, who live up the mountain. They are all gay and Daddy. Six of them found their boy. This story is about the last single Daddy, Brad.
We already know Brad loves his explosives and writes poetry. He’s lonely, seeing all his brothers with their boys makes him missing something or someone.
One day at lunchtime there’s a guy at the door asking for Bradley Brenner, it’s Eric. They all know him, but he seems confused he doesn’t recognize them, because his memory is messed up. Eric is an illustrator and will draw for Brad’s book.
Brad tells Eric the truth, how they met and had some sexy time together. Eric can imagine he did, Brad is such an attractive man, a Daddy. Brad wants to take it easy, his heart is vulnerable when Eric is finished and leave, Brad will be devastated.
While it was a lovely story, it went all too fast, it felt a bit underdeveloped. The epilogue was, for me, the best part, it was emotional and sweet. The concept of the series, boys coming from a harsh place and the seven Daddy brothers on the mountain, who took care of them, was original, easily readable, and good romanticized.
This is the final book in the Bearytales In The Wood series. This is the story of Brad and Eric. Brad is the only brother left who has not found his forever boy. With six other couples surrounding him with love and happiness all the time; it becomes difficult to be home. With his hobby of blowing things up and writing poetry, Brad thinks he will be alone forever. Then a publisher decides to publish his poems and send an illustrator to work with Brad on his new book. Eric arrives and is a last minute replacement illustrator. He wonders why the entire family is acting strange while they think the same about him. Unbeknownst to him, he already met them all at a birthday party on the farm. In fact, he and Brad were like two magnets with a strong pull together. Even with his amnesia, Eric still has the same strong pull towards Brad. Brad let him go once, so that he could go to school. Will he be able to let him go a second time. This is their story. This is a low angst book. It is well written and easy to read. I enjoyed the book. It is always a bit of a let down when a series ends. I look forward to more books by this author.
I received a free copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Brad is feeling the weight of being single, especially seeing his 6 brothers all paired and loved up with their boys, so he tries to avoid them as much as they let him. When a familiar face appears to help him illustrate his poetry book, they all can't believe it's the same guy Brad hooked up with before, Eric, who turns out to be suffering amnesia after an accident and doesn't remember Brad or any of his brothers/friends. The memories aren't there, but the attraction between Brad and Eric definitely is, but Brad can't be certain Eric wants what he does... forever.
Brad and Eric were amazing together, sweet and hot, and it was lovely to see Eric bloom under Brad's care and become the boy he'd always been destined to be.
I really enjoyed this book, Brad and his family are so much fun! While I hadn't read the previous books in the series, I never felt lost, and even if the book is short, Ms. Brown managed to make it so I never felt lost. If you enjoy books with sweet, caring Daddies and their boys, you'll love this book/series! Recommendable!

Brad is the only brother without a boy of his own and that makes him feel completely out of place. That means he is lonely and so continues to find solace in his barn blowing things up and writing poetry - he even has a publishing contract although he has no idea what to do about it. Then a shy young man turns up at Christmas Tree farm from his publisher to illustrate the poems. The man can't remember who he is even though he and Brad have met before (and so can the rest of the family). Eric knows he is just there until the book is complete but Brad wants him to stay in his arms forever. Then danger comes to the farm.
I enjoyed this last book in the series where Eric could understand the poems even though the others didn't and Brad finally got his boy. I liked the drama from their visitor and that it helped to solidify the decisions that both men made. I felt for Eric with his memory loss and everything that he had lost although this job gave him a far greater prize. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content and a BSDM-like DDLB relationship.
I can’t believe we are here at the last book! These Daddies and their boys have been through so much, it is nice to see them all with the happily ever afters. Brad may be last to have his boy come home, but that doesn’t make the joy any less. Poor Eric doesn’t even remember the brothers or his life on the mountain at all, but that could be a good thing in some ways. They all are glad to see him come home, no matter how he ended up there and go out of their way to tell him stories. This has been a good series and I am sad to see it end.
This was another lovely tale in a sweet series. It’s finally Brad’s turn to find his boy, as did his other brothers, and he finds him in Eric. It’s their second chance to be together, as they met previously, but thanks to an accident, Eric can’t remember him. It was delightful watching them reconnect and find happiness alongside the rest of the rescued boys and to see everyone happy. This was a sweet, low-angst story with plenty of steam, and I recommend it as a quick and lovely read. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I’m glad that Brad’s story was a sweet romance of finding the path back to each other and not another explosion. It’s tough to watch those around you find happiness, while your momentary happiness disappears. I’m glad Eric found his way back to the farm.
I have really enjoyed this series. It’s a fast, fun read that is surprisingly low angst considering the underlying horror that brings everyone together. Don’t over think it; just read and enjoy!
Brad Brenner is the second eldest of the Brenner Boys. All the brothers have found their boy except for Brad. This is a second-chance romance that is beautifully written. Brad has met Eric before but Eric doesn't have a memory of that time of his life. A straightforward uncomplicated story that felt like a warm hug. I know that I didn't want it to end. A short story that packed a punch!
Coming to the mountain to illustrate Brads book, Eric has no recollection of ever being there due to his accident. Brad was always smitten with Eric and thus was his second chance at getting to have him as his boy.
This final book was a nice ending to these brothers tales. The story was a bit rushed at some but the epilogue was wonderful.
This was the perfect way to close the series out. I also like how what I felt was a waiting game question got answered. Yeah that was tricky to word without spoilers lol. I love the happiness, love, and sense of emotional completion this book leaves us with.
I just love the hot sexy bears & their boys!!!! Their home on the mountain is perfect for all of them & I loved how the author noted at the end how some characters are linked with her other series - I've already read those boom I may go back & re-read them!!!! Thanks so much - Lori
I am a fan of romances using the amnesia trope and this is an excellent one as Brad gets a second chance with Eric. I enjoyed use of Brad's book and Eric as its illustrator to get the story going. There are some twists along the way in this conclusion of an excellent series.
Well written story and well developed characters! Eric, the boy of his dreams, shows up to illustrate Brad's poetry book. He came from the publisher. Eric was in an accident and has amnesia! He doesn't remember Brad at all!
This is the last book in this story. This is about Eric and Brad.Brad been hiding from everyone .When a journalist came to the house to finish a book they are surprised it's Eric. When Eric doesn't recognize them he explained that he had a car accident and can't remember anything from before.

This series was adorable and I was so looking forward to this one, even though that meant the end of Bearytales. Brad has been waiting so patiently for Eric and his patience definitely pays off. Cute, original and fun to read!
