My name is Dr. Morrigan. I’m an abinatural psychiatrist. It is my job to help children fight back against the monsters that live under their beds or inside their closets. Monsters that their parents tell them aren’t real and therefore can’t hurt them.
But those monsters are real. I learned that the hard way when one of them killed my family. But, unlike the kids I help, nobody believed me when I told them what had happened. Everyone just assumed I was traumatized by the event and had made up a fantastical story to cope with what I’d seen.
Being dismissed like that, by the people I thought I could trust, set me on the path to becoming an abinatural psychiatrist.
Since that deadly encounter, I’ve helped countless children fight back against the things that go bump in the night. I’ve saved a girl who was being stalked by an ethereal beast that was drawn to her heartbeat. I’ve saved a boy from a cursed item that was turning his dreams against him. I’ve even helped a couple of priests remove a demon from a young man’s body.
Despite all of my success, I’ve been unable to find the monster who murdered my family. I spent years looking for him but was never able to find any evidence that he ever existed. That all changed the day he showed up on my doorstep asking for help.
I have to be honest, at first, I was not sure I would like this book. I liked the cover but I do not read a collection of short stories very often. I was very happy and surprised how good this book was. I really enjoyed following Dr. Morrigan on the cases. I enjoyed learning more about the supernatural world and I believe Dr. Morrigan to be a doctor very needed. This book was so much better that my expectations! I am glad I read it, and I want to thank K.G. Lewis for such a fun book to read.
I loved this book. The stories are original and draw you in. I couldn't wait till the next story, and the next story, etc. I looked for more. I hope K.G. Lewis writes more with Dr. Morrigan. Please.
