Tracking Shadows; Bland P.I.R Book 2

Rate this book
Mitch Lockley had instantly regretted telling Gabriel Bland to shove his job – who in their right mind would do that? After everything they’d been through? He needed to make it right.
When Mitch finds a bedraggled and injured woman on the mountain side, he has his work cut out trying to find out why she was on Mount Hood in the middle of a storm.
Damaris Rivers has cut tail and run – with good reason. With her boss sick in hospital, there’s no one else she can trust. And she desperately needs someone – because she doesn’t want to fight alone.
When a stranger turns up, clearly out for blood, Damaris discovers her archaeologist parents have been taken hostage in Egypt.
Can Mitch and Gabe work through their issues and help Damaris? Will her parents survive the horrific ordeal? And will the stranger’s determination to kill both her and Mitch pay off?

My name is KA Richardson, and I am a crime and romantic suspense writer based in the North East of England. I write around my other work commitments so am constantly on the go. I love reading many genres, love speaking to people and I spend a lot of time people-watching in coffee shops, though if I'm honest this is more for the purposes of character-building and plotting. I enjoy watching 'cop' shows from both the UK and the USA, and am a fan of sci-fi. I began thinking about writing as a career in 2010 and completed my Ma Creative Writing in 2011. I love to be inspired, and enjoy spending time with friends and family, as well as other like-minded folk. My website has some more info on me, if you're interested pop on over to www.kerryannrichardson.com, or I can be found on Facebook as KA Richardson and Twitter @kerryann77.

Who is following Damaris and what are they looking for?

Why have Damaris’s parents been kidnapped on an archaeological dig in Egypt & what has happened to the artefacts that they discovered?

Mitch wishes he hadn’t quit his job with Gabe & is now hiding away in his mountain retreat when he comes across an injured Damaris. Who is she and why is she near his retreat?

I loved this second book in the series. It was fast paced and intense from the get go. The plot was easy to keep up with and I loved the characters. I enjoyed seeing the team back together again.

The story was thrilling and quite dark as well as intense.
I cannot wait for the next story in the series, I’m looking forward to Becca’s story.

The author has such a great talent for writing and I always look forward to reading more from them.

An absolute page turner! What a rollercoaster read this is, I could not put it down and read it in one sitting. It has everything necessary to keep the reader gripped. The second in the Bland P.I.R books has main characters Damaris and Mitch who I felt an instant connection with, lots of action, intrigue, suspense and a stunning ending. Breath taking. More please !

Mitch is stubborn and has resigned from his job. Damaris is being followed but does not understand what she has that makes her so important. Damaris and Mitch are thrown together, and Mitch will do whatever he can to protect her. Another page turner from KA Richardson, with the majority of the story being set in Egypt. Wonder where the story will lead onto next with the final twist at the end.

Second book in the series. Well written and complex characters with relationships that impact the story as every good book should have in it. The intense, suspense filled, and action packed storyline takes you for a ride and can impact what time you go to bed. I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book.

The 2nd in this series and like the 1st I loved it. Lost in escapism of hero's villains and spy movie style plots, this is the perfect read to escape life and lose yourself in a book. I loved all the characters development from book one but I need a book 3!

This was a fun read. The good guys are likable, the bad guys were horrible. Had me rooting for both the cautious Damaris and her fierce, adventurous mother. Couldn't put it down.

An excellent page turning adventure with suspense and tension and a real sense of fear.
I loved the main characters and was rooting for them from the start. The bad guys were also really we developed and exceptionally sinister and quite frankly terrifying.
I loved the archaeology aspect and the negative turn of events a big discovery can make thousands of years later and the lengths people would go to to cover this up. The feeling of real fear of being helpless in a hostage situation was really well written, with the added horror of your daughter being under threat and the unknown.
The ending has left me desperate to know what happens next, another great mark of a page turner. I look forward to reading more from this author.
