Margot is back, this time trying to find the killer of one of Ms. X's guests (women hiding themselves from troubling men). If my memory serves right, here Margot uses her skills to shot dead some of the bad guys.
Black Sheep - book 1. In this story, we have 3 women staying at Mrs. X's house for abused women where only certain people know of the location. While 2 of the women, along with Mrs. X are watching TV, and someone starts ringing the doorbell. Mrs. X sends the women to their rooms and tells them to lock the doors. Meanwhile, someone is breaking in through the garage and turns off the electricity. Mrs. X is injured while trying to protect her home, and the women and one of the women come downstairs and are attacked and killed. Margot is brought in to try and help find the killer and where the other women disappeared. Grab a copy and read to see if Margot can solve the case.
I don't understand how the title relates to the story. It was a very short story and while that is nice, it also felt a little rushed. Decent characters even though in a short story you don't really get to know much about them. Not really any twists or surprises to the plot. Some action. I think my favorite characters were Margot and Jimmy. Margot definitely could hold her own against someone.
I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.
This is fast paced and high on action and danger. I love that Margot gives more than she gets. Lol. Her intelligence and quick thinking is a thing of beauty to watch play out in the book. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough!! I highly recommend this book.
I received an advance copy as a member of the ARC team. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I couldn't put it down from the first word to the last and it left me wanting more. Enthralling characters and story. A great read.
Gripping mystery! A gripping mystery and a touching story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. A difficult and touching situation. Absolutely loved the book! I read this book as part of an advance reader team and am providing my honest opinion.
Great action story. I really enjoy books that show women as capable as some men. I have known strong women and men that are wimps. Full of action, suspense and intrigue throughout the story.
I am enjoying this book about Margot and how she is able to go after people with her experience . The book has suspense and drama and is a well written book. Thank you
A good start to a new arc as well as a couple of new good characters. Hopefully by the end of this arc the title to this part (Black Sheep) will make more sense.
This is the first book in a detective series and starts with plenty of action and intrigue. The lives of three women in a safe house are scattered when their ‘landlady’ is murdered. Did she manage to injure the intruder? How did he enter? Then a series of dialogues between the private investigator Margot Harris, the firm of lawyers and detectives set the scene that she is alone and pursuing this mystery with seemingly few clues to follow. The mystery unfolds with plenty of fast paced action, suspense and a couple of twists. I found following who said what in some of the dialogues a little confusing, although they effectively established a fast pace. However the story was quick to read.
Kindle Unlimited Margot Harris Box Set #4 Altogether nine hours of complex excitement, thrills, murders, and chases. Another tale to binge on from Nora Kane to keep you up nights. At times a bit rough - Toward the end of this marathon read, Detective Gnomes informs Margot that there are serial killers with smaller body counts than she has at this time. Margot concludes that they should have chosen their victims better. I may have let her influence me a bit more than I had thought, as I had to agree. Can't wait for box set #5.
