An awesome journey/adventure rescue by a famous gamer, youtube, and author of the Wild Rescuer series.

In this first volume, we're following Stacy who lives with a pack of very intelligent and tightly skilled wolves for four days to rescue an animal in the Rain Forest.

All the wolves of her pack have special abilities and are very smart. One even helped her with math and makes her breakfast and she understands them all. Their job is to rescue animals in danger all over the world.

It's a fast-paced story with lots of action and adventure. We visit the Pantanal and the Rain Forest and learn all sorts of amazing facts about the local fauna and flora. The chapters are presented as journal entries or log updates and it's fun because it looks as if she is reporting to us. She also illustrates what she sees and the illustrator has done great work with expressions and humor.

Very educational. I love frogs and learned a lot of new facts about a particular one. The book also focuses on awareness of environmental problems, and in specific makes sure we understand that it's not good to catch and take animals from one biome to another because it will cause harm.

All is spiced with a bit of adventure in the ruins, solving puzzles to avoid traps, being chased by predators, and saving the day. A very cool rescuing team that teaches us much and has a very confident main character who knows is doing her share for the planet.

Great cover and a series to follow. Perfect for nature lovers.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for the Arc. My opinions are my own and honest.

Stacy and her wolf, Basil, embark on a rescue mission to save a baby ocelot trapped in a ruin in a jungle.

Stacy lives with her wolf pack consisting of six wolves with supernatural powers in a cave. Milo the bat receives word that a baby ocelot needs to be rescued in the jungle. Stacy decides that Basil is the best wolf for this mission due her gift of being the fastest wolf. Their journey introduces them to animals and places not seen at home.

I enjoyed going on an animal rescue mission with Stacy and Basil while reading this book. The author also provides information about various animals along her journey. This is a fun way for kids to learn about animals while enjoying a good read. A charming book and highly recommended.

I really enjoyed The Treacherous Tower. Just like in all of her previous books, Stacy has once again crafted a fun, creative, adventurous, and family-friendly story.

The illustrations in this book were absolutely gorgeous. Mélody’s artwork is breathtaking and fits these books perfectly.

I know these books are for children, but I love them just as much as my nephews. Stacy is an amazing author that I have always supported and I always will. Her love of animals, books, and learning really comes through in her stories. I’m excited to see what adventure she takes us on next!

This was an absolute delight of a story. Rescue Tails continues with the same characters as the previous WildRescuers as Stacy goes on an adventure to save a baby ocelot in the rainforest. The story here is focused, short, informative, and beautifully illustrated. I think children will love both the illustrations and the journal format, as it’s written in a easily consumable format.

On top of that I learned new things! I consider myself pretty on top of animal and nature facts, I’ve always been an outdoorsy type of person. This managed to keep the information presented here fresh and had new information even for me! In fact, I’ll likely be following the series. This would be one that will age well for my own children in a few years, and it was a super fun read for me!

Overall a great new nature based adventure story for girls or boys. If you like reading these as an adult I’d even recommend it as well. As I stated, it’s fast, fun, and beautiful. A great new entry for young readers!

This was a really fun and quick read. I might not be the primary target, but I do enjoy the occasional children’s book.

I enjoyed the story and appreciated the amount of information/facts it contained. However I was not fully absorbed in it. I know it being a children’s book means the story doesn’t have to make complete sense or be logical, so that wasn’t an issue. The adventure itself didn’t offer the excitement I would expect. I also agree with a previous mention that stated she couldn’t get a feel of the main character. She worried too much about how she could potentially be viewed by her classmate as well(could be because she is getting to an age where that might matter more?).

Overall I did enjoy this read and will still give other books in this series a chance. I especially enjoyed the wolves and the sketches in the book.

Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins Publishers for allowing me the opportunity to read this story..

Rejoin Stacy and her wolves as she experiences school and goes on exciting new adventures in unexplored biomes to rescue new animals.

This was a fun intro to a new series by Stacy Plays. My daughter (9yo) really enjoyed the first two books from her last series and was so excited when I told her a new series was coming out. So the ability to share this book with her was especially fun. After we read the book I asked her some review style questions.

Her review:

It was awesome! My favorite part was seeing the pictures of the baby ocelot. My favorite animals in the book were the Jaguar & the baby ocelot.
I think she should stand up to the bully, that’s what I would do.
When asked what biome she would research: I would research where koalas live and I think it would be cool to have a book based on their habitat.

Rescue Tales: the Treacherous Tower is a perfect read for middle grade readers. I loved the fact that our main character, Stacy, lives with wolves and rescues animals all over the world. She usually travels with one of her six supernatural-ability wolves (all six at once would be conspicuous).

Major Rescuers Down Under vibes. The illustrations were absolutely beautiful and I really enjoyed this. I loved the vocabulary words and definitions. I will be pre-ordering this book for a friend!

Thank you NetGalley and to the publisher for this ARC.

Let me preface this with the reason I docked two stars:

girl riding a wolf, which in real life is unsafe for the wolf... and the girl, actually

Wolves are not suitable for riding. Yes, they may be superhero wolves able to carry the weight of a young girl, but I feel strongly enough about this to mention first thing, because I worry that some young reader will try to emulate Stacy and ride their dog, risking the dog's health. It's not something where I'm comfortable just saying, "Well, they're MAGIC wolves, it's fine," since all it takes is one person too heavy for a dog to bear to permanently injure the dog.

OTHER THAN THAT, it's... cute? Young girl literally raised by wolves (albeit smart, superhero wolves?) rescuing animals in her spare time. Sure, that sounds fun. She DOES spend a curiously long time obsessing over the bully's teasing, though, but I suppose that's normal for grade school (or even middle/high school, come to think of it). It just feels like someone with her family life wouldn't be concerned with trivial things like that. Granted, , so that's cool!

The art is cute (OTHER than the wolf-riding), the writing is... odd? I mean, it's biographical journal-style, so it's Stacy writing everything after the fact, but her style of writing is all over the place. She mentions having an anaconda sneak up on her and being worried for her safety, then she goes into a lot of animal facts about anacondas. That feels like a strange time to think of animal facts! ("Oh, but it's a journal entry after all the exciting parts!" It's still strange to read that way.)

I would feel more comfortable if they weren't just arctic wolves but were a superbreed of larger wolves, closer to horse or at least pony size. THEN I would gladly recommend this to young readers who love animals, especially exotic and endangered species! (Sad about axolotls...)

So, I picked this up knowing nothing about StacyPlays or the "Wild Rescuer" series... just thought it had an appealing cover and premise for my kids who love nature and adventure. The book delivered. Exciting without having too much peril, animal characters that have personality without feeling too bizarrely anthropomorphic to fit a the real world setting. Yes, the whole premise is far-fetched (a girl who lives in a cave with a magical wolf pack but goes to regular school) but it works as a fantasy. What I didn't realize is that, while this features the same characters as the Wild Rescuers, it is geared for slightly younger readers and is thus tamer. I got the first book in the original Wild Rescuers series, not realizing there was a difference, and my oldest was like, wow! I can't believe you got this for us, mom! There is soooo much adventure and danger in here and animals dying and stuff! So, he was thrilled and has been reading it but it's definitely not one that I would share with my youngest yet. Just an FYI for other parents so they don't make the same mistake. (Fortunately, my youngest hadn't seen the other book yet as I know it would have broken his little animal-loving heart.)

This was such a cute read! This was a fun, short book about a girl who lives with a family of wolves. She and her wolf family rescue other animals who are stuck in dangerous situations.
Her wolves have different abilities and human-like emotions.
I love how this book focuses on helping kids learn more about nature and animals. It’s written very simply, so an elementary schooler could understand it. The harder words are explained as well, so a lot of new vocabulary will be learned.
The story is written in a diary style, and it’s engaging and exciting. I think it definitely is geared towards younger kids, so I would recommend it to middle school or younger. They’re trying to rescue animals, so some of the situations are dangerous but not scary at all. Pick this one up if you love animal stories and adventure!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the publisher through Netgalley. All views expressed are only my honest opinion, a positive review was not required.

I would like to thank the author and Netgalley for allowing me the chance to read this free ARC first.

This was a wonderful book! My 9-year-old daughter and I read this together, and she didn't want to put it down. The author did a wonderful job incorporating facts that were both fascinating and educational. The illustrations were wonderful, and a sweet touch that any fan/child would admire. My daughter felt an instant connection to the main character and found her journey to be exciting and well-paced.
My daughter is absolutely in love with this book, and has requested we add it to our library once it is published. She is already re-reading it for a second time. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is not only a fan of Minecraft and the author, but who is looking for an enchanting and clean book for their child to devour over the weekend.

It's a cute spin-off series of the Wild Rescuers series. Rescue Tails continues to follow Stacy and her pack of wolves as they rescue animals. This series is written as if you are reading Stacy's diary. While I enjoy the writing style of the Wild Rescuers series better, it was fun to revisit Stacy and her pack and see their continued adventures.

Once again a great story for young readers that is both entertaining and educational! Despite not being the target audience I still enjoyed it immensely, especially then getting to further research all the environment facts

Lyhyt ja kevyt teos. Sain tämän loppuun yhdeltä istumalta. Informatiivinen kirja, joka opettaa lukijalleen sekä uusia, vaikeita sanoja että luonnonmonimuotoisuutta.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this digital advanced copy. This book is about a girl raised by wolves who rescues animals. I haven't read any of the other books in the series, and I found it hard to connect to. As a child and as an adult, I'm usually a sucker for a middle grade book about animals, but I couldn't connect to the protagonist.
