A heartwarming holiday romance with small town charm and Christmas cheer, perfect for reading by the fireside as you curl up under a cozy blanket.
For years, Colette Hillis has worked as a caregiver for Emma Cleaver. When the kindly old woman passes away and leaves Colette her house, Colette is shocked by the generosity of her former employer. But the truth is, the guest house at the back of the property has always felt the most like “home” to her, so she decides to continue living there while renting out the main house as an investment.
Fortunately, it isn’t long before she finds an interested renter—a handsome out-of-towner named Zach McKnight. Unfortunately, the two of them butt heads almost immediately. He’s a painter from Rochester who’s escaped to Snowy Pine Ridge for the holidays to rediscover his creativity, and as he fills the house with art supplies, Colette finds herself struggling to adjust to all the changes he brings to Emma’s old home.
But as a blanket of white falls over Snowy Pine Ridge and the holidays approach, Colette and Zach start to realize they have more in common than they thought. And as romance blossoms between them, Colette realizes that Emma’s last Christmas gift to her was more than just the house…
It was the chance to find love in the most unexpected place.
This latest in Fiona Baker’s Snowy Pine Ridge series was back on track! It has the warmth of the holiday spirit wrapped up in characters old and new. Another quick read that left a smile on this reader’s face.
Book four in the series introduces a new character, an artist from Rochester, looking to be inspired. It also keeps the reader in touch with former characters. With familiar characters galore going through major life changes intertwined with the story of Collette and Zach this was an enjoyable snow day afternoon read. Collette is grieving the death of Emma who she has been caring for since she got out of high school and moved to Snowy Pine Ridge. Although unexpected to her, Emma left her everything. Feeling out of place moving into Emma's home, she decides to rent it out. Zach, as artist from Rodchester, who has been stuck in a rut for a year comes to the town after it is recommended by an artist friend. Zach rents Emma's home from Collette and it doesn't take anytime for them to feel a pick-me-up when they are around one another. This was a solid edition to the Snowy Pine Ridge Series.
Snowy Pine Ridge is a magical little town with many interesting people and stories. After caring for her dear friend Emma, Colette inherits Emma's house after her passing. She decides to rent the house and remains in the guest house. Painter Zach temporarily moves here and rents the house, looking for inspiration. Continuing the series, the book also focuses on the pregnant Lacy and her husband Derek and baker Sarah and her fiancé Will. I love following characters in small town series. This book was especially innovative with plot lines. Fiona Baker has a great imagination and an excellent sense of humor. I love seeing the progression in characters. This book was a gem.
It was great reconnecting with the residents of Snowy Pine Ridge and meeting a few more characters. I like how the friends support and enjoy each other. I like reading as the friendships and families grow. I like to revisit the dog sleds in the stories and the other recurring connections. If you like women’s fiction with a touch of romance you should read Christmas at the Guest House.
Snowy Pine Ridge is a nice break from my usual reading. The characters are interwoven through the story from previous books and give a homey feel to the text. It’s like an old black and white movie when the lead characters first hold hands and everyone swoons. Collette and Zack are a great couple and this is a sweet story filled with love and the holidays.
This is another light-hearted Christmas romance. After reading the first 4 in the series almost in a row, they are getting a little old; two people almost immediately fall in love after just a few weeks. But, I love the characters, and as each book takes place a year later, it's fun to follow their lives.
This book continues the stories and characters of the previous Snowy. Pine Ridge and adds a few new characters. Such a wonderful blend of townsfolk and friends, as their lives continue to grow at their own stages of life. Worth the read - especially if you read the res t of the books. Onward to the next book
I felt like the relationship was rushed. In the previous books in the series, there was more buildup and back story. In this book, as soon as the characters were in proximity, they began a relationship. I also didn't like how this book ended the same way as the past-- with the out of towner staying in Snowy Pine Ridge .

I really wanted to like this series. I had to make myself finish this one. I just couldn’t get past the constant use of the words “the flavor exploded across tongue.” Every time someone takes a bite of anything, which is always perfectly made, the flavors explode across the tongue. The repetition was unnecessary.
I just love this series and I know you will too. The characters are supportive and friendly. The town of snowy pine ridge is a special place to explore all it has to offer. So get your copy, cozy up and enjoy.
A story of people who are willing to make changes in their lives that are difficult and somewhat uncomfortable, but bring unexpected joy as they grow in friendships and find romance.
So relaxing. Very simple and knew what would be outcome but it is relaxing and clean reading book. Pick it up read a chapter or more, it’s that type of book.
The town, the snow and the characters! Collette has always been a favorite character and now she finds a companion after her friend, Emily’s death. I enjoy the added characters in each book and the focus in their new storylines. Merry Christmas in May!
Another warm, story of life long friends and new friends working together to help each other achieve their dreams. And along the way they find the person they want to spend the rest of their life with.
Such a great book. I didn't want it to end... loved seeing characters from the previous books along with the new characters introduced here... I definitely can't wait for the next one!!!
