My Dad's Bad Boy Bestie

Rate this book
I have the hots for my Dad’s best friend.
And now, he’s my BOSS.

I’m a Daddy’s girl.
And I’ve always had a crush on his best friend, Jason.
He is gorgeous AND a big-shot CEO of a massive company.
Ironically, In the same field I just graduated in.
And yep, you guessed it.
I just landed an internship with his company.

But now that I’m a grown woman, I can’t keep my feelings a secret anymore.
The connection is too strong to deny.

The way he looks at me in the office like he wants to rip my clothes off and throw me on his desk is almost as bad as when he’s over having dinner with my Dad, playing footsy with me under the table.

And when he starts inviting me into his office for “special meetings” that end up in makeout sessions and lunch dates, I know things are getting serious.

We are falling for eachother.
But now, people are starting to talk.

I’m terrified this won’t end well.
What will my Dad think when he finds out?

This book really surprised me. I have gotten into reading more age-gap romances this year that when I saw the title, I thought despite the fact that I would like it (because I usually do), that it would be the same cookie cutter format- girl falls for dad's best friend, they get together, dad is mad for all of a week if that and then all is right in the world again and they live happily ever after. Boy was I wrong about this story!

This story is very well developed in terms of background characters and world building. There are elements of jealousy in this story that are really well developed and play out nicely on the page as well as the inner turmoil between our MCs. Bella and Jason also have such a wonderful chemistry between each other that it helps the story flow easily and makes it one that you could certainly read in one sitting (and I would have had I not had to work). The story flows over about a month or so, so you don't get the rushed development of the relationship that you sometimes get in age gap romances that are more novella style. My only complaint was that the ending seemed a bit rushed- there was a major event that happens that begins to bring everyone around to the idea of the relationship between Bella and Jason and I felt that after that idea had begun to be accepted, everything that happened after was very rushed and then it was the end of their story. I would have like to have seen all of that drawn out a bit more with some more detail because I think it could have added a bit more to the story but overall, this is certainly a book I would recommend if this is your type of reading- well developed, strong MC's, great supporting characters and the story itself is fantastic. Plus, you do get a bit of spice without it being on the heavier side and who doesn't love spice?

Bella has returned home from college to wait to see if she gets into any internships she applied for. When she surprises her dad when she arrives home, she learns that he has invited his best friend Jason over for dinner. Jason is stunned by how grown-up Bella has gotten. Bella didn't want to let them know that she had applied at Jason's company for an internship because she wanted to get it on her own and not with any help from them. However, when Jason learns she got a job in his company, and she didn't tell him it upsets him. However, seeing her with an associate out for lunch sets off jealousy he wasn't expecting. Its not long before they are sparring about how possessive he is acting and that he needed to see her as an adult. Will they give in to their feelings for each other? What will her father think about it?

This is a great story that will draw you in from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Bella is a Daddy's girl and is thrilled to return home after college. She is waiting to hear back from the internships that she applied for to know what she is going to do next. On her first night back, she sees Jason, her dad's best friend and the man she has had a secret crush on for years. For once it seems like he took a good look at grown-up Bella instead of seeing just his best friend's daughter. Bella is refusing to tell Jason and her Dad that she applied for an internship at Jason's company. She wants to earn it on her own merits and not by being the daughter of the owner's best friend. She gets the internship and hopes to avoid Jason at work. However within the first week, he discovers her presence and is treating her like a little girl he needs to protect. Bella is determined to prove to Jason that she is all grown up.

The story was a solid read that flowed smoothly. The book was very standard for this genre. Predictable, things happen just as you expect them to, and nothing in the storyline or the characters made it stand out as unique.
The characters were not overly endearing. Following along with the same cookie cutter recipe. The other problems come as the story is reaching it's main plot point. All the other characters are taking responsibility and blame for their actions, except for the overly protective and isolating father. She is 22 years of age, and he is allowed to get away with telling her that he will remove her from her internship. That is having entirely way to much control over your child to the point of an obsession. A glaring issue in the story that is never addressed and is instead glossed over.

Age gap, HOT AF billionaire, Dad's Best Friend is my jam. I know not everyone loves the age gap genre, but to me it's fiction at its best.

This was my first foray with Lacey Nash and I loved it. You can bet I will be stalking her. Maybe she has a billionaire-nanny (also my jam) that I can sink my teeth into.

Jason (HOT AF billionaire) and Bella (daddy's little girl) are GREAT together. Although Jason had some moments where I just wanted to bop him upside his head, he did end up redeeming himself (in my eyes anyway). This book captured me from the start (of course it did, it's my jam!) and I found myself quickly turning the pages to find out what would happen next. There was a little (all right ALOT) of angst, numerous tears (mine and Bella's), HOT sexy time, a few you go girl moments, a little heartbreak, a few heartwarming moments, and ALOT of love.

One of my favorite age-gap, daddy's best friend books of 2023.

I really enjoyed Jason and Bella's story. Bella is still very much in love with Jason and Jason in turn develops feelings for Bella now that she is a young woman who also unknowingly managed to get an internship at his office. It remains with longing looks between them but that changes when a Jason notices that another man is going to show interest in Bella and he knows he has to do something now otherwise he will miss the chance and someone else will run off with Bella . Will their relationship have a chance to succeed? or are they stopped by her father and his best friend? This is a wonderful story and it shows that you shouldn't care about an age difference if you really love each other you do everything you can to make your relationship work and don't let love slip through your hands.

Will this CEO be brought to his knees by his best friend's daughter?

Worth 5 stars. This is my first time reading this author & I felt the author excelled in telling Jason & Bella's story. He may be her dad's best friend but their attraction is undeniable. How long can temptation be denied before the line is crossed? Will this CEO let Bella slip through his fingers or will he wake up & realise what is in front of him is all he ever wanted?.

I feel like I’ve read this book before, a young girl in love with dads best friend but he only sees her as a little girl till she returns from college! Although a well written story I feel this genre has been done to death. Apologies to the author as it takes skill to write ( which I don’t have) so koudos for that. I just wanted more excitement, more drama and this was just lacking. I don’t mind age gaps as a rule but 18 yrs is a bit much for me. I read this arc for an honest review., so apologies if not everyone agrees.

Jason and Bella… this book had me wanting to root for them at times and other times I just couldn’t understand it! From the get go he didn’t even recognize her when he first walked in the house. So a girl you have known her whole life changed that much?! The sneaking around and chemistry was good and I could see them together. Until, (and stop reading if you don’t want a spoiler) dad flips out and orders the daughter around like she is a child and she listens! So you are old enough to be in a relationship with an older man but not old enough to stand up to your dad?! Nope.

Bella comes home from college still in love with Jason. She secretly gets an internship at his office. One Jason finds out that she works there he is obsessed with knowing what she is doing. Jason plays it cool with Bella until there is another man interested in dating her. Will Jason and Bella begin a relationship and keep it secret from her father, and his best friend? How will the father react to this relationship? Bella and Jason have a very sexy relationship. This book is a quick read if you are looking for a age gap book.

Great story!

Jason owned his company and was best friends with Bryan. Bryan’s daughter, Bella, was coming home from college graduation. Dinner that night was weird. Bella always had an attraction for Jason. Well at the dinner, Jason couldn’t keep his eyes off Bella. She got an internship at his company and he did not know for one week. Things go up and down after that. It is a must-read story!

Age doesn’t matter

At the beginning age was never an issue, Bella was my closest friends daughter, she came back from college and I didn’t even recognize her, it had only been four years since I had seen her, I was now in serious trouble. What I am going to do, put her off, reject her? I can’t follow through on what I want.

Juvenile, not believable, poorly edited (spelling, wrong tense, words appearing that have nothing to do with the sentence). About the only thing in this book that I found the least bit believable was her mild-mannered dad's reaction when he beat the crap out of his best friend. I considered not finishing but I hate doing that. Will not be reading anything else by this author.

Love the age gap trope. Add in the he's her dad's best friend, and sparks are going to fly right?

Sometimes, things are just meant to be! Glad I was meant to read this story.

A couple of enjoyable, no stress hours of entertainment!

A great story loved that Arabella had feelings for him for awhile and he didn't start having feelings for her until she was 22 and out of college. Their connection was great even though sometimes i wanted to punch Jason in the face.

Jason and Bella

A fun, quirky, sizzling hot little treat. This is the first book by Lacey Nash I have indulged myself in and it won’t be my last. I enjoyed going on this forbidden journey with Jason and Bella.

I wish authors put more thought into their book titles because I feel that My Dad’s Bad Boy Bestie by Lacey Nash is mistitled. There is nothing about Jason that says “bad boy”, in fact, for him to be best friends with Bella’s dad he has to be a good guy. If we ask Daddy Bryan, he is the BEST guy. After all, they’re besties!

There are more than a handful of grammatical issues that caused frown lines to appear on my forehead, but that is probably just the copy editor in me. I wish more books go through copy editing or proofreading publishing. Sometimes it’s a case of homonyms, which is understandable, but other times it is like the author was searching for the right word, never found it, and used a different word with the intention of going back to it but never got around to it.

If you are the type of reader that can just skip over those you may enjoy this book. It isn’t long, just 22 chapters plus an epilogue, and took me a few hours to read.

The story is pretty straightforward with the main characters struggling with the 18-year age gap but ultimately overcoming it. HEA guaranteed.
