Title: ➳ ❤- The blind Date Author: ➳ Lauren Landish Publication: May 6,2021
ღ . Wow this one is going to make you feel, all warm and fuzzy inside ….. It is a sweet love story that is going to make you laugh out loud… You’ll be crying, so hard from how hard you laugh kind of books …. This is, One of those Hallmark movies type of love stories
Riley Watson… she is internet influencer. that loves to share her bubbly personality with her flowers .. Riley is Miss Sunshine, but she is also very lonely, so her friends/ crew convinces her to try her brother’s River new dating app….. of course, using fake name
Noah Daniels. He is app developer – he is that guy that has all his focus on statistics. The executive that most people see him as a cold, driven, workaholic asshat.
Noah’s new baby is (The blind Date app), him and his best friend River just launched….. Noah being Noah decide to test drive The blind Date app for himself …. So, he created fake account
So as you can imagine even though these two, Riley & Noah know each other for years, and from their siblings – they aren’t very fond of each other …… I guess you can say this one those enemy to lover reads
➦📚 *Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book.
What was I thinking? I'm actually ashamed to be writing this review because it means confessing to having both bought and attempted to read this book. Ugh! I'm too, too old for this and should have known better. The heroine is TSTL, her dog is annoying as heck, the plot is almost non-existent, and the romance is uninteresting and unsatisfying (except, I guess, for the H and h in the bedroom).
The "blind date" premise here could have been good but was not used well. The H and h moved too soon from the getting to know each other via texts to the meet-in-person stage and it went totally downhill from there. Not that before the meet stage it was very good. Their communications with each other were very superficial and became mostly sexting after only a very short time.
In addition, the heroine is a useless fribble. Who need influencers in this world? What have we all become that we can't figure out things on our own but instead need mediocre, vapid others to help us make decisions in life?
In full disclosure I did not read much of this book. I did skim a bit in various chapters and read the end so that I could feel somewhat justified in leaving a review.
(Note to self: Don't read Laura Landish ever again. Second note to self: You are as stupid as this book. What were you thinking to choose it? Less than 0 stars to you.)
Sugary sweet with plenty of spice, this opposites attract romance was a lot of fun. I love a grumpy/sunshine romance, and I also love unique meet cutes, so this caught my attention right away. The hero is my kind of grumpalicious workaholic, and I loved watching him fall. It's not long before he's in over his head, and this sweet, sassy heroine turns his world upside down. I also loved that they knew (and disliked) each other just a little bit before meeting through a dating app, and I adored the use of texting. This was on track to be an easy 5-star rating for me, but our hero falls a little TOO fast, so there was a definite lull in the middle. It became almost sickly sweet and there was too much focus on our heroine's career as an influencer. Don't get me wrong - this is also SUPER steamy, and our couple has some serious chemistry - but I think the beast was tamed too quickly.
The story follows Noah, a moody workaholic who is just putting the finishing touches on the dating app that he developed. While testing out the matchmaking process for research purposes, Noah creates a profile for himself using a fake name. To his surprise, Noah discovers that there's a woman on the app who has been deemed his near-perfect match. The two strike up a conversation, and it's not long before they're getting closer via text. Though they've never even seen photos of each other, there are feelings on both sides before they meet in person. The only problem? That meeting doesn't go according to plan. Turns out, Noah's dream girl is actually his best friend's little sister - also known as the woman who thinks he's nothing but a work-obsessed jerk.
Honestly, I was really loving this in the beginning. The app storyline worked for me in a big way, and I loved how close Noah and Riley get before they even meet. That part of the story had me swooning and completely engaged. It just didn't last long enough, and my interest started to wane. I feel kinda weird saying that the book became too sweet and easy for me, but there was definitely a LOT of that in the middle. Sure, Noah and Riley burned up the pages (she brought the HEAT this time), but a significant portion of the book is just them being together. There's nothing that I didn't like about the story - and I considered a 5-star rating - but it really does drag in the middle. If you're in the mood for something sweet yet sexy (you'll never look at a treadmill the same way), then this will certainly satisfy. I received an early copy and am voluntarily leaving a review of this best friend's little sister romance.
This book was one honkin’ wheel of cheese. Seemed rather forced/fast paced and yet dragged on unnecessarily. I hate doing it but found myself skimming through some of it due to the mental ramblings that were so far beyond the knowledge of someone that had only known the person for a few days. Their worship for each other was very repetitive in that sense as well which was the main reason for a lot of the skimming. Even some of the sex scenes towards the end, too much mental worshiping going on, I mean really… you’re licking her asshole and practically writing your vows to her the whole time?? Yeah, that’s not what’s really going through your mind…
The main characters were too sensitive and mushy for my liking. No sort of thick skin whatsoever. Noah and Riley, both, so sorely upset over what he said (which REALLY wasn’t THAT bad to begin with) in the past and taking it way out of proportion years later. Then later with their Big Explosion, yeah pretty pathetic fight guys.
Another pet peeve of mine is formatting and grammar. It bugs me when books are formatted to make them longer when really they just added extra space between paragraphs and chapter breakers. Do you get paid per page? I don’t get it…
I did like the app idea. Not a bad idea and Riley did seem to understand being a SMI. She also had some good realizations and post ideas but really those were the only things enjoyable about the book, sadly.
Do you like to laugh? Because this book might just qualify as a belly workout from the hilarity, the highjinks, and the insanely hard-fought Happily Ever After. This time we've got ourselves the shock of a lifetime when two polar opposites wind up on a blind date thanks to an anonymous new app that doesn't reveal faces. It's an adorable sunshine meets stormcloud love with tons of jokes, passion, and all the emotional punch Lauren Landish rocks in spades. Try not to fall in love with Riley and Noah! Grab it while it's Free in Kindle Unlimited and enjoy.
Nope. Just. Nope. It is the first of Lauren’s books that did not work for me at all.
Grump was not grumpy at all. Sunshine was not sunny enough. A non-existing collision between so-called “total opposites”. Too much instalove. So sweet I was actually feeling my teeth hurting. Nothing really happens. Drama not being drama at all.
There were two things I liked about this book: I assume, pretty proper reflection on influencers' daily life - time spent on pretty pictures, hundreds of hateful comments, and reality that what is posted on the internet, can never be taken down. "Big misunderstanding” being fixed by both characters rather than one working on a grand gesture.
I struggled on how to rate this one. The writing was well done but Riley was just so extra that I started skimming.
The best friend getting punched in the face by the brother is so tired. Do dudes not hang out with other good dudes so often that you’re offended when one of them dates your sister? Pick your friends better?
As much as there was about the dog, I was waiting for it to go missing and have a big reunion scene in the rain or something but no. Just a dog with a better skincare regimen than me.
Okay, maybe I'm too much of a cynic to appreciate books with bubbly, quirky, cheerful heroine's because I wanted to choke the effervescent, ever-hopeful SHIT right out of Riley for at least 82% of the book. I'm sincerely so proud of myself for finishing this one without chucking my phone/ipad/kindle across the room at any given moment.
Online influencer Riley Sunshine aka Riley Watson appears to be all sunshine & rainbows without a cloud in sight. But with no time to date, Riley’s friends convince her to sign up for BlindDate, a dating app where you don’t see your match’s photo. And it just so happens her older brother co-created it. And to Riley’s surprise, she has a 96% match off the bat. They talk nonstop and develop real feelings, but when they meet in person, Riley discovers that her match is none other than her brother’s best friend, Noah who also co-created BlindDate.
Noah is the ultimate grump to Riley’s sunshine. He joined BlindDate just for some research but couldn’t resist a near-perfect match. Before Noah knew Riley’s true identity, he felt himself falling for this faceless, always bright, stranger, who made his days a whole lot sunnier.
When Noah & Riley discover that they’re who they’ve been talking to all along, they decide to throw caution to the wind and give their relationship a go, even if they’re worried about what Riley’s brother is going to think...
The Blind Date by Lauren Landish is a fun brother’s best friend romance with a touch of texting/techie elements. There was something so sweet & fun about this grumpy/sunshine romance. If you’re looking for a lighthearted romance that’ll give you some laughs, this is for you. I felt it was far too long for a rom-com and a lot of scenes that weren’t pivotal to the story arc dragged on too long. Also, I wish I felt more for Riley & Noah as characters. Yes, their romance was sweet, but they didn’t feel relatable at times. 3.5/5 stars.
i don't have much to say besides this book isn't for me.
she's a sunshine influencer, she loves spreading her sunshines with everyone. she dresses in yellow, and all i imagine was this: he's a workaholic and her brother's best friend.
they are a match on his dating app, and the book goes from there.
i was so bored i couldn't even get to 50%. it was too fast but still too slow. when they found out who they were (the app doesn't have photos), they stop talking, but later he finds her and says he REALLY likes her, and i stop reading the book at 43%, this scene was way before where i stopped.
These books always woo me with their cute covers and potential of hilarity and romance but I think this is the third one I have read that just doesn’t work for me.
I DNFd at 88%. Grumpy guys and Sunshiney girls are my crack. This guy was not grumpy. At all. He was chatty, engaging, smiley, romantic, charming. It was basically a story of how two nice people started dating, told their families about it and were supported, who had an argument during the first few weeks, said sorry to each other, and then continued to date. There was zero angst. Noah was quite lovely. Sometimes Riley felt a bit preachy. I can’t give it less than three because the book is fine, it was just boring and I feel like it was missold. If you’re looking for a grumpy asshole, move along.
Found myself skimming through most of the book. Didn’t like the characters AT ALL. The story is extra extra extra cheesy between two people who barely know each other.
I realized several times while reading this book I was smiling like a goof. It is really a good, happy, swoony and funny story with great characters. I love the stories with the tech connection and this has that little bit of “You’ve Got Mail” to it initially, but the story is much more than that.
We get a little bit of an idea of what it means to be a “social media influencer”, but Riley is a unique and effervescent presence aside from her online activities, too. Noah also makes his living with technology as an app creator. He is best friends with Riley’s brother. Riley is best friends with Noah’s sister. It’s the whole dating the sibling’s best friend, times 2.
I loved everything about the story. If you are looking for a happy, romantic and steamy read, you’ll love BLIND DATE.
This book will definitely give you all the feels. I absolutely love reading Noah & Riley’s story. They are both amazing characters that you will never forget. Noah & Riley may not have had the best relationship but when a match on a dating app brings them together nothing will keep them apart. Truly an amazing story, that has me glued too my kindle.
I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Such a great story! She doesn’t disappoint, I often wonder where does she get her great ideas from? So quirky yet so relatable it’s scary! Smiled, laughed and even teared up a bit - an HOTT AF!
I don't normally start a review backwards....but, y'all, let me tell you...the epilogue was epic, THE TREADMILL. You have to read this book for the treadmill scene. Everything in between the beginning and the end was superb.
Riley, social media influencer, Riley Sunshine, always trying to add a smile to someone's face with her posts of pictures and quotes. And if she helps one person have a brighter day then that will make her happy.
Noah, app developer, and, um, best friends with Riley's brother.
When Riley's bestie talks her into using a dating app who knew she would be almost perfectly matched up with Mark D, aka Noah, aka Riley's brother's best friend, aka the guy who said some really nasty things to her years earlier.
This book was so freaking good. I am digging Lauren's romcoms because, we all need a little sunshine in our lives and Lauren takes you away to someone else's drama and fun times for just a little while. So I am calling Lauren, Little Miss Brightness. Because she brightened my day by reading her fantastic story.
Riley is a social media influencer whose goal is to be positive and 'spread the sunshine.' Noah is an app developer who is determined to make himself successful. Noah is also Riley's brother's best friend and his sister is Riley's best friend. Riley and Noah both use fake names on the blind date app to form a connection and the two of them end up connecting with one another. Once they meet up in person they have already developed feelings for each other and have decided to try dating one another. This book by Lauren Landish did not disappoint it was sweet, romantic, and with the right amount of steam. I really liked Noah's character and how many different sides there were to him. Riley although wasn't my favorite female character didn't bother me either. I thought she was strong and determined I just found her positivity and naivety a little annoying but all and all I thought that she and Noah were a good match.
A woman can't change a man because she loves him. A man changes himself because he loves her...
This story had me reminiscing about a cute flirty song called Sunshine, Lollipops and Rainbows. It accurately describes how Noah and Riley feel when they are together. Riley a social influencer spreads her happiness and cheerfulness with sayings full of sunbeams to hopefully put a smile on someone's face. How Riley manages to get a grin on Noah's grumpalicious face is short of a miracle.
This story was playful and cute, but also flirtatious and sexy. Who knew a dating app would bring these two opposites together. The side characters deserve a gold star for their hilarity to this story. Not to be left out I cannot forget to mention the cutest miniature Schnauzer named Raffy who steals a lot of the scenes. This story definitely gave me feels and definitely put a smile on my face.
A sweet, brothers best friend, enemies to lovers rom com!
I like this book although (in my opinion) it should have ended earlier it was too dragged out. But, it will put you in the feels!
Riley and Noah grew up together with Noah being Riley’s brothers best friend and Noah didn’t like how ‘Sunshine’ she was.. but with reason (don’t worry, I won’t give anything away).
Now they are older Riley is a internet influencer spreading her positivity and sunshine attitude to everyone. Noah is workaholic app developer of Blind Date Both the two creating a fake account, with fake names match and they start messaging, Then they set up a meet date.. I’ll stop myself there :)
Ohhhh. The keep reading, you don’t want to miss the treadmill scene ;)
This delightfully fun read is packed with feels. I simply adored this book. It was a well crafted blend of emotion, humor, drama, twists, sweetness, cuteness all topped with a very light sprinkling of a zany hijinks type of feeling. I thought the storyline was super fun and the whole app and texting elements made everything feel very modern. I really enjoyed this sunshine/grumpy couple. The attraction and chemistry was easy to feel and electric. Riley and Noah make a heart melting, feel the heat couple that will have you swooning, smiling and catching a major case of the feels. I am independently posting a impartial review.
Blind Date by Lauren Landish is the story of Noah Daniels and Riley Watson. Riley is all things good and looks for the good in life. Riley works to live carefree and in the moment. But does acknowledge that she is missing something which leads her to agree to the Blind Date app. The catch is that you does get a picture of the person. So when Noah shows up she thinks something is really wrong. Noah is her brother best friend but more importantly total opposite of her. Where he seems to be dome and gloom along with planning everything she just a breeze in the wind. But when the sparks fly....maybe it wasn't a mistake? I am such a fan of Ms. Landish's books. I have always enjoyed her books and I do recommend them.

I was talking to a few people about this book while we were reading it. We were discussing the different parts we were at, etc.. They kept mentioning the “treadmill scene.” Lauren, herself, even mentioned it to me saying to “just wait.” Well let me tell y’all... I read that scene 3 times trying to visualize it perfectly. I still don’t know if, or how, it can be done. All I’m saying is, it was H. O. T. (Also, I don’t recommend trying that at home 😂😂😂 even though it sounds fun)
Now down to business. The book itself, while I thought was a bit slow in a couple spots, was well written. The character development was amazing, and the chemistry was off the charts.
As with all Lauren’s books, this one is an all around great read!
Sweet, fun, and funny. Great characters. Interesting storyline.
I liked the way they grew together as people and the long period of time after their relationship started where we could see this growth. Often the beginning of the relationship is the end of the book, but this story gave much more time to the development of their relationship, which was great. No contrived misunderstandings or faux drama, just really delightful growth with an intriguing cast of characters in addition to the main characters.
I really enjoyed this book. For the most part, this is a light-hearted read. Riley certainly makes Noah more fun.
There were several steamy scenes. They weren't quite as spicy as I would prefer but they were far from fading to black. Pretty vanilla, though.
I've read 3 books since I've read this one and can't get out more details but compared to a lot of new books out this year, it was a breath of fresh, spring air. One of the best releases this year! One of Lauren's best books!
This book is the a fun story with a young female who tries to spread joy and love every where she goes. Helping people is her goal in life, her friends decided that she needed a man in her life. So they get her to go on a website called Blind Date well the guy who created the website with a friend ,decided to fill out the questionnaire and guess who he winds up with. Its sexy steamy romance, with lots of great characters and lots of just plain old fun .!!I recommend you read this book and I give it a5 Stars rating
What happens when you find Mr Right and he turns out to be your BFF's brother? Oh and your brother's best friends? Riley is a fun character. She has her own vlog and she is just sunshine to all. Noah is the analytical minded programmer who with his friend develops BlindDate, a dating app. His work 8s his life. These two meet on the app under pseudo names but then discover who the other really is. This story flowed well. There were great secondary characters, love the senior citizens! And this could happen in real life.
What a wonderful romance! Riley is great. A social media influencer that is nothing but positive. Noah is a grump, but very sexy. They are opposites and even have a somewhat unfortunate past. In spite of that, they seem to be perfectly suited for each other. I loved their story which is full of fun, love and steamy scenes.
