Great book to promote body positivity and awareness! Also goo book to teach your child what each body part is!

This is a fun little book for younger children. It is an informal overview of what many of the body parts are and their function. I feel children will be able to make connections as little critter does many of the same activities that they likely do. It has lively, colorful illustrations on each page to keep children engaged. The part I like best is the end where it points out that everyone's body looks different but that is what makes everyone special.

Link loves this. I count any book I have to read for him more than a solid week.

Mercer and Gina Mayer, This Is My Body (Golden Press, 1993)

We have now gotten to the point where we've read enough Little Critter books that I can generalize that I'm not as fond of the ones Gina co-wrote as I am of Mercer's solo outings. This Is My Body is probably the best of those we've read, but it's still a cut below most of the solo books. Critter talks up some of the parts of his body, mostly facial features, plus arms and legs, and relates them to the family. There's some amusement value to be had in Critter's antics, as usual, but by the time a child is ready for the Critter books, you've probably covered this ground in any number of other books aimed at slightly younger readers. ** ½

This is quite a simple exploration of one's body - limited to non-gender specific areas! It remains quite general and fun - I use my eyes to see a small caterpillar and a big tree. Nice, simple, weirdly done with a non-human though!

Little Critter talks about all of his body parts like his head, ears, arms, legs and explains the functions of them in an easy to understand fashion.
