So, the end of book 3 leaves our mixed up heroine in deep dodah with her friends at her side and her ‘Spiritual’ guides/bosses trying to teach her before things get worse than they are. Can she, will they, sort things out, who knows. Cam is skating through the dark murky waters of the undead and ancient magic while trying to save ‘her city’ and friends and learn who and what her parents were and how they all fit together to make her life complete? Bring on book 4 - quickly please.
You know who Cameron reminds me of? I’m honestly mad it’s taken me this long to figure it out too, Selena from underworld. Just less vampy of course.
For the third installment I really really reallyy enjoyed it. We still have the same badass Cam just with a lot more creepier foes than before. I laughed a whole lot more in this book and i definitely was hooked o to an even more badass and determined Cam as she navigates the mysteries of herself and those in her world.
I would recommend this book to everyone who wants a mix of fantasy, paranormaly, badass MC, and just overall hooking plot; and lucky for you 😏 it’s out now.
So run and get your copy and tell everyone I told you so, and you’re welcome in advance😌
Bones And Blades is third book in the Smoke And Shadows series. Technically these books could be read as standalones but I would highly encourage you to start from the beginning. Not only is this series a delightful read, but it will also help the reader gain a better understanding of Cam and her community.
In this book Cam continues to reach for her Calling Charm trying to learn more about who she is, and gain mastery over her magic. She also meets some interesting folks including the librarian and the watcher. Of course, that's not all. As usual, Cam has a lot going on. This time Cam needs to end a demon that keeps popping up unexpectedly... the red-skinned one, not the red-haired one, and time is of the essence! Unfortunately, that demon is nothing compared to the necromantic sorcerer who is up to no good. It's a good thing she has friends she can call upon.... okay, well maybe not quite friends but business associates with the appropriate talents.
Pack your bags and get ready for a trip unlike any other. This book had me laughing and crying. I love Cam and all her adventures, and I love getting to know her and her world. I always cringe a little with all the fighting and folks getting injured, but I can't walk away. Gray always leaves me wanting more. Thankfully book 4 (Tempest and Treason) is out in the world so I can read it very soon. Join me? There's lots of space in my little pod.
My #NewToMeWord is harrying. It means to persistently carry out attacks on an enemy. Want another? Scrabble... it means to scratch or grope around with one's fingers to find, collect or hold onto something. Gotta love learning!
First three books read over three days gives an indication of how much I enjoyed reading this series.
Supernatural mayhem and magic with a side order of sass and soul searching are right up my street.
My only quibble is there seemed to be a couple continuity issues that made no sense to me 1 why was the usually immaculate demon dishevelled? Secondly how did Cam get Barquan training her? No explanation to either of these things which was puzzling to me.
Next please!

Lots happening in this book. A demon and other spirits have escaped into the realm of earth and of course Cam has to be the one to track them down. Lots of world building with many new types of supes introduced. The relationship with her friends are developed more and Magnas is worming his way into her good books. A bit of a cliffhanger finish. Only gave it 4 stars as I felt the fight scenes were drawn out too much. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
More mayhem and bumpy things in the night. Cam never has a dull moment nor does the reader, but miss witty badass tends to pull drama to her. Book 3 upped the benchmark of intrigue again. The more she scrapes by surviving fights, the more determined she gets whilst learning more about her powers. Once again lots of magic, drama, laughter, weird magical entities and this time sadness. Itching for book 4 to come to see. Magnus, the werewolf, is more prominent in this copy with a hint towards a romance. I received an advanced review copy from the author and leave this review voluntary.
Zombies and demons and werewolves, oh my! The third installment of Smoke & Shadows is here, and I couldn’t be more excited. The witty and determined Cameron Blaze is back with more action and spookier foes than ever before. No spoilers, so I’ll just say that I laughed, as always, and even cried a bit. I cannot recommend this book/series enough!
Third book in and still loving it , L.L is a true story weaver , my heart races at times but that could be the zombies I really don't like zombies I never watch anything with Zs in it but I got so caught up with the storyline I ( ahem) stumbled with them I highly recommended these books a very well deserved 5 stars
Book 3 in this wonderful supernatural must read of the Series: Smoke and Shadows. A great BLURB is provided. Characters from prior books are good friends along with great new ones even though some are evil.
Fast paced & action packed with an amazing page turning storyline. Well written.
This is one of those series where you could easily sit down and devour, one right after the other, and never get enough of. Bones and Blades keeps up the heart pounding action, and adds upon it. I couldn't put it down and I can't wait to read the next one.
This is the third book in the series and it definitely did not disappoint. The plot was so good and made me laugh multiple times. I would definitely recommend this for lovers of fantasy
What more could you want? Zombies, demons, werewolves, and I couldn’t be more excited. The author continues to develop the world Blaze lives in and gives us more banter and action.
