Human Omega Lenny’s car breaks down at the worst time and place imaginable. The snow is falling, his cell phone has no reception, and he’s going to be late for a job interview a hundred miles away. As the temperature begins to plummet and the sun has mostly set, Lenny sees no other option other than to trek in the direction of the house he sees lit up in the distance. It’s better than freezing to death in his car as it gets buried in the snow.
Alpha jackrabbit shifter Conall is happy to have two entire weeks off. He loves his job as a lumberjack, and his crew are like brothers to him, but Conall longs for the bit of peace and quiet and time in his fur that comes with shutdown. Only his time off turns out to be nothing like what he planned.
When Conall hears a cry for help while he’s in his fur, he races towards the sound to discover a human caught in a hunting trap, his leg bleeding and most likely broken. Without thinking, he shifts into his human form to help and is shocked to hear, “I know you,” just as the man passes out. What was that about?

Oh my god what a terrible book... Even one star is being generous. I don't even know where to begin with describing all things wrong.
So, Lenny ends up in the middle of nowhere with his leg in a bear trap. And although throughout the story the trap and supposed hunter are mentioned many times, you don't get any closure on it. I mean, what the hell, some idiot set an illegal trap and another person got seriously hurt. But yeah, not important for the story.
Lenny should go to the hospital with a severely mangled and broken leg. Instead he gets some healing herbs from a bear guy and is totally fine. Sure, it takes a while... But no one is even slightly worried.
When Lenny is rescued and taken to Connal's house, it also turns out his phone has reception again. Does he use this to reschedule his interview? Call someone for his car? Call emergency services? Call friends or family? Call literally ANYONE? Nope, he does not. None of the above.
2 potential issues that could've been pursued in the story were Connal showing Lenny his shift and Connal having to go back home to his fluffle (and alright, points for the name instead of pack) to find a mate. Both things are mentioned, both things are glossed over.
Oh btw, Lenny is an omega and can get pregnant where Connal is an alpha. Is this explained anywhere in the book? Are they aware of this? Does this come with typical role assignments in the relationship? Should they maybe have considered birth control? No idea, none of these questions are answered.
And in case you think, okay yes, the story sucks. But what the hell, I don't read books like these for the story anyway. I want knotting, steamy sex scenes, dreamy alpha's... Yeah, don't bother. The sex in this book is a seriously big disappointment. Not worth reading about it at all.
Halfway during the book Lenny gets pregnant. He runs to the toilet to throw up. Not only is Connal completely oblivious of this, when Lenny gets back he is also casually talking to Lenny's coworkers in an online meeting. Then while they can hear asking if maybe it was the curry he made and saying that at least he pooped so should be feeling better soon.
I don't consider myself someone to shame on others kinks. Or to shame other relationships. You do you, whatever floats your boat. But since it felt the writer was going for a fairly normal relationship as far as I could tell, this was just weird AF.
I will admit, I skipped some pieces so maybe part of my complaints is actually in the book somewhere. I don't care. This book was a crazy clusterfuck and I do not recommend anyone to read it. Seriously, it's not even cute or amusant. It's just bad.
Oh goodness I just wanted to finish this as I had paused to read Helping Hand and then I realised I already had: does that show the intensity of my feelings towards this book?
The best thing about this was the term “fluffle” apart from that the relationship had an extremely odd pacing and I felt like the authors just wanted to write the banterful established relationship conversations?
It’s a insta omegaverse novel with a a jackrabbit shifter whose ears never get stroked!

This was such a cute read! It has injury caretaking, fated mates, the word fluffle, and adorable slice of life domesticity. There’s no true “conflict” besides the beginning — Lenny being stranded and getting hurt. He takes the shifting issue in stride, understanding them being mates, and just overall handles it all well. I loved every bit of this, it was heartwarming and no angst.
My only little niggle is that for a book with such sexual MCs, there weren’t that many sexual scenes or they were often just summarized — felt a bit odd.
Started out well but didn't live up to its promise
Lenny stuck in the snow and Conall in his isolated cabin had a lot of potential but everything just fell flat. I had to keep re-reading because I thought bits were real and then it turned out Lenny was imagining them. There was no real character development, no problem with Lenny discovering that shifters existed, no disbelief about his injury miraculously healing very quickly. No nothing at all, really. Just insta-love, a quick mating, and a baby and not much more than that. It was like eating a soufflé - all air and no substance.
Lenny and Conall are very likable characters. Lenny is a human Omega. He is driving in a bad storm for a job interview when his car breaks down. With no way to call for help, Lenny starts to walk toward a light in the distance. Taking what seemed like a shortcut, he ends up stepping onto an animal trap. Fortunately, Conall is enjoying a few weeks off at home and, being an Alpha jackrabbit shifter, his animal half is enjoying a run through the woods when he hears Lenny call for help. Lenny is bleeding, so Conall shifts to human to free him from the trap just as Lenny faints. He takes him home to tend to his injury.
Conall realizes Lenny is his fated mate, despite the fact Lenny is human! And Lenny is definitely attracted to the kind man who rescued him. There is much more to their story as they learn about each other, fall in love, and eventually figure out Lenny’s sickness is an entirely natural event to let them know they will soon be parents. Grab your copy and enjoy their story. It sounds like this HEA is going to the perfect loving couple. With humor interspersed, their story will hold your interest and keep you smiling, right up through the baby’s birth.
And I absolutely love the cover on the book! That alone could make me want to read this one, but the authors always provide a wonderful story, so it was a “sure thing” either way. Don’t miss this one!
DNF@55% I dare say the problem is me, not the book. It reads like erotica and it is not my cup of tea at all I think. There’s no connection between the MC’s, Lenny only has sex on his mind ffs, and personally, the writing is full of paragraphs and sentences that means nothing or repeat whatever has been said.
Full disclosure -- I read this for the jackrabbit on the cover. I'm fine with both shifters and omegaverse in general, but this was pretty shallow, even for pwp. I probably don't be reading the sequel. Unless I need a cover with a unicorn on it. Natch.
I'm not giving it stars, because I haven't even read it. Got just to chapter 9, and I just couldn't do it anymore. I seem to be unable to read these authors' books anymore. It's like the writing style changes so drastically, I'm not even reading the same authors anymore. Several of Lorelei M. Hart's books had been awesome, like Alpha Kissed series, and Royal Heat and many others. But the more recent ones are just beyond cringe cheesy or something like that. I don't know if I can explain it properly. The first few books in Dates of Our lives were great. But the newer ones just...I just couldn't even get past the first few chapters. It seemed beyond ridiculous to me. There's cheesy, and some cringe cheesy, like B.A. Stretke's books (which had been surprisingly good despite the tons of cringe cheesyness) but then there's beyond cringe cheesy and that's too much. One perfect example would be this book, hence why i'm writing this here. I literally couldn't make it beyond chapter 8. I just.... (Spoiler alert below)
Your car breaks down in the snow, walk in the storm for a few, catch your leg in some kind of animal trap, nearly losing it, break it, you wake up in a complete stranger's house, with two strangers, and your first thought is you want to fk one of them? Seriously? In pain, leg broken, strangers around, and sure, let's think about sex then. Cause why not. Seriously??????? That's not even beyond cringe cheesy. That's just wrong. And it's not even the shifter doing that, but the human omega. If It was the shifter and was reacting to his mate's scent, It would've been more understandable. But the human reacting that way? Omega or not. It's so seriously weird. I stopped reading a few books because of those kind of things, with humans thinking that way. We're injured, nearly died, in the presence of a total stranger, and sure, let's think about sex. Because why not. Seriously?????? Yeah, I can't read any new books from these authors, apparently. First book of Omegas of Animals, I don't think I even made it past chapter 2. It was just way too.... Ugh. I just can't. Way beyond cringe cheesy and too much of that way beyond

What a cute story! I haven't read a book about a jackrabbit shifter before and I really enjoyed the uniqueness of this book. I really enjoy the fated mate trope and this was really well done. Colbie also sprinkled in some forced proximity and boom! Magic happens!
Lenny is heading to his future dream job, the only thing that gets in his way is his cat dying. On the side of the road... In the middle of winter. That doesn't exactly bode well for him, especially cause there is no reception and no one for miles. Until he spots a light in the distance and starts walking towards it, he never expected to step in a trap, and he also never expected to get rescued by.... A rabbit?
A jackrabbit in fact. Jackrabbit shifter Conall is in his fur hopping through the snow enjoying his run. Until he hears a scream for help and goes to investigate. Once he finds the man who yelled he know he needs to help him. Not only is it cold outside but the man's leg is trapped in a animal trap. If he doesn't get him inside soon he's worried the man might not make. So, he does what any good samaritan would do and takes the man inside to help warm him up and patch up his leg. Except being that close to the man his jackrabbit keeps telling him this man is his mate... How's he doing to explain that to a human?
I really enjoyed this book, it was adorable and well written. Lenny and Conall are so sweet together and they compliment each other well. Lenny is so accepting of Conall being a shifter along with him being Conall's mate. I wish that Colbie explained further about Conall's family. It's mentioned that if he were to mate a human he would have to discuss it with his 'pack'. However, then it's not brought up or mentioned after that. So I thought that was a little confusing, but overall really good. I loved baby Arlen, I wish we got to see him shift for the first time but he's still adorable.

Lenny was driving through a snowstorm on his way to an interview when his car died. After waiting for awhile hoping another car would come by, he sees a light in the distance and decides to walk for help. He was making progress until he left the road to cut across a field when he stepped on a trap, pinning his foot. Not really expecting to be heard, he cried out for help. Suddenly he saw a rabbit in front of him and asks it get help.
Conall was out enjoying the snow in his shifter jackrabbit form when he heard cries for help. Realizing the need for finding the owner of the voice quickly, he tracks it down still in his shifter form. Finding Lenny bleeding and shaking from cold, he realizes the only thing he can do is shift quickly back to human form and get Lenny home. He realizes Lenny had seen him as a jackrabbit but hopes he won’t remember, but he does as he must. As he picks Lenny up, Lenny tells him “I know you”, then passes out.
Over the next several days Lenny learns more about Conall as a shifter and he is aware of a strong attraction between the two of them. Conall’s rabbit recognizes Lenny as their mate and the rest of the story deals with Lenny’s healing, the deepening of the relationship, and how they will handle the mate question.
Sweet holiday story of a shifter and human recognizing what they are to each other.

Lenny is a human omega who is very unhappy to be driving hundreds of miles for a job interview at Christmas. The job is perfect for him but they insist on in person interviews. As he is traveling, a snowstorm comes in and his car breaks down. He can't stay in his car because he will freeze so he decides to find the cabin with the light shining through the window that he can barely see. The walk is longer than expected and suddenly he steps in a trap. He screams but he can't free himself. He thinks he is imaging things when a jack rabbit appears and turns into a human. He wakes up in the cabin he saw being taken care of by an alpha lumberjack named Conall. Even though his leg is badly hurt, he is very drawn to Conall.
Conall is an alpha jack rabbit shifter who runs a lumber jack crew. He has just started his holiday vacation when a storm was coming in. He decides to go on a run in his jack rabbit form. While running his rabbit hears a scream and forces Conall to check it out. Conall finds Lenny caught in a trap and changes to save him. His jack rabbit is claiming Lenny as his but Conall has a lot of explanations to give before they can mate.

I saw this book as an arc on booksprout and for some reason was totally drawn to it. I love illustrated covers and have been craving MM, but other than that it's not usually something I pick up, let alone drop everything for... but I'm so happy I did. Lenny and his Jack Rabbit Lumberjack alpha were absolutely adorable and I loved their story so much!
Lenny was a smidgen needy for me, I had a hard time with it at times... but other than that I really enjoyed these two characters to pieces. There is a moment when Lenny and Conall in his hare form are snuggling and I literally "awww"d out loud, it was so sweet. Conall is the perfect alpha and his beast was so perfect, I loved how he always pestered Conall about Lenny being their mate and needing to claim and protect him.
This was my first time going through a Mpreg as a main plot point, my only other one was off page, and I loved seeing Lenny go through labor and the little things of being a birth parent like chest-feeding and the like. I really enjoyed the entire book, I can't wait to read more from these authors.
If you’re looking for a fun winter themed read in the omegaverse, this is a good one! It’s fated mates, winter rescue and lumberjacks-what else could you ask for?
Lenny and Conall are a fun pair of MCs. Lenny is an omega traveling for a job interview when his car breaks down during a terrible storm. In search of help, Lenny comes into contact with Conall who is an alpha shifter. Conall ends up tending to Lenny and they begin to learn about each other and being fated mates.
I enjoyed that this was very low angst and not a lot of drama. There are hints to possible drama if the story were longer. It would definitely be interesting to see Conall and Lenny meeting his pack of shifters and I am interested in Stedman’s story cause his characters seems to have his own story. But I appreciate that all these things aren’t jam packed into this story. It’s a fast read and very light hearted with a nice HEA for this pair.

If you had told Lenny his life was going to change on his way to an interview due to his car breaking down, he would have laughed. But change it did! When his car breaks down and snow is piling up he has little choice, he walks to the only light he sees. Nearly frozen, Lenny takes a shorter path than the roadway and gets caught by something with teeth! His calls for help are heard by jackrabbit shifter Conall as he is letting his "beast" out for a run or hop. He happens to be a sexy lumberjack too much to Lenny's delight. Conall literally saves Lenny and fated mate attraction takes over. Due to Lenny's injury he and Conall are able to get to know one another before mating can happen. I enjoyed the thoughts that swirled through Lenny's head because most were funny given the circumstances. This was a cute, quick read that will give you the feels with how sweet alpha Conall is to an injured Lenny. So pick up this book and enjoy this holiday season.
This was a short, mostly sweet read overall. Trigger warnings for near death experience, some physical trauma & blood, and (male) pregnancy. I liked both Lenny and Conall, and the shifter aspect was a nice touch. I would have liked a little more of that, like meeting Conall’s fluffle, his family, etc. His family was mentioned at the end of the book about having visited, but we never saw it.
I also would have liked a little more background on the world, because they seemed shocked about a human omega and shifter alpha being together. Do they not usually crossbreed and stick to their own specifies then? Lenny mentioned his uncles at one point when he was kind of out of it, so I thought maybe we’d see them at some point too.
This is fairly short, so I know there’s not a ton of pages to work out a well rounded world and interactions outside the main characters, but I was left wanting on aspects. Maybe 3 out of 5 stars?
This is a really cute story that you just can’t put down until the very last page. I love the characters Lenny and Conall and how they beat through an accident and discovered that they are fated mates. Lenny is a human and on his way to a job interview when his car broke down in the middle of a snow storm.
He sees a light in the distance and thinks that he can walk there in time to get out of the cold, when he’s almost towards the light his foot lands in a trap and this is where Conall finds him. In his Delerium, Lenny seems to recognise Conall although they have never met before. A lot happens in the story and eventually they find that Lenny is pregnant and they go on to have a happily ever after.
I was given a copy of this book to read and I am reviewing with my honest and fair opinion.
Conall, an alpha jackrabbit shifter, is looking forward to a couple of weeks off work and some time to himself. Lenny, an omega human, is driving long distance to a job interview when his car breaks down in a snowstorm. Lenny tries to walk to the lights of Conall’s house when he’s caught in an animal trap and Conall comes to the rescue when he hears pleas for help. Taking the injured omega back to his home, Conall realizes Lenny is his mate, and even though he’s not a shifter, Lenny finds himself drawn to the alpha. The pair are so sweet as they spend time getting to know one another in this lovely but knotty romantic MM read with a side of heat. I always love shifter stories where the beast is a more unusual animal and in this one it’s so wonderful how Lenny and Conall’s jackrabbit interact.
Human Lenny is an Omega and on his way to a job interview, but his car breaks down and he gets stranded in the bitter cold. As he went walking to find help, Lenny gets caught in a hunter's trap. Conall is an Alpha shifter jackrabbit and hears Lenny's cries for help. After Conall rescues his fated mate Lenny, he nurses him back to help and they get to know each other. Their strong connection draws them to each other and they get their HEA.
This was a cute, funny, Omegaverse romance. Lenny was so funny and was a good sport about his shifter fated mate, and Conall was so sweet to the recovering Lenny. I really liked that they got to know each other before they took that next step. It was a short book, but worth the read.

Omega Lenny, decided to brave the harsh weather and drive to a job interview. His car and fate, had other plans. After breaking down, walking to safety was his next choice. What could possibly go wrong?
Alpha Conall decided to shift into his jackrabbit and enjoy a run through the woods. As the weather made a terrible turn, he hears a faint noise in the distance. A cry for help. Not soon after he smells blood. Someone is hurt.
His fated mate is injured....
As Lenny heals from his injures, Conall is stuck trying to figure out how much he remembers about that night. Discovering his mate was completely cool about everything, made the situation so much easier for both of them.
Conall took great care with ensuring Lenny's comfort and safety. Truly a sweet, romantic, steamy, and fun fated mate story.
When Lenny, a human omega, gets stuck in a snowstorm while traveling home for Christmas, he knows his best chance is to get out and start walking. While going cross-country, he gets his leg snapped by a trap.
When Conall, a shifter alpha, is in his fur, he automatically shifts and frees Lenny from the trap. He brings him home, which is only a short distance away. He's confused why Lenny tells him he knows him before being freed from the trap.
So many shifter stories have "strong" animals like wolves, bears, or dragons. This one has a jackrabbit, so I was interested in reading it because I wondered if anything in the human dynamic would change because of that. Some significant changes were made, but not as many as I thought there might be.

Walking toward the light during a snow storm has consequences. Human omega, Lenny is on his way to a job interview to hopefully start a new life. Unfortunately, his car breaks down during a snowstorm and he sees his only option to try find the dot of light, which means a building, right? Connal, alpha jackrabbit is looking for a two week vacation where he can spend time in his fur, destressing and relaxing. He is the only single man in his crew, which he considers his fluffle. While out enjoying his freedom, he sees Lenny injured and in distress. Life gets complicated for both men. Will Lenny accept Connal's jackrabbit? Does Lenny recover from his injuries? Did Lenny get the job? Good story. Lenny, is a strong omega who knows what he wants. Lenny and Connal are fun and funny. Story flows smoothly. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love Lenny and Conall’s story, which has everything you’d want in a low-angst steamy Mpreg. Lenny is a human omega driving to an interview when his car stalls in the middle of a snowstorm and he’s caught in a trap. He’s saved by Conall, a jackrabbit shifter, and the story of how Lenny and Conall get to their HEA is sweet, steamy, and fun. I love that Lenny’s reactions to the shifter world are not the typical shifter/human angst, and I really enjoyed learning more about the secondary characters, the town, and this couple’s future as the story evolves.

Lenny was on his way through the snow to a job interview when his car quit and didn’t have any cell signal. He finally decided to put on more clothes and walk towards the light he saw in the distance but then he got off the road and got his leg caught in an animal trap. Conall was out in the snow as his jackrabbit form he heard Lenny yell, he went and found Lenny in the trap, picked him up took him to the house. Got another shifter to do first aid on him, his animal said mate and Lenny felt the pull to Conall. They were mated and Lenny got a remote working job. Good book!.

This was such a cute funny wintertime story. I love reading shifter books and especially books by these two authors. Right out of the gate I know I'm going to enjoy a story written by these two.
Lenny was such a delight, he's one of the most sweetest characters. Conall was such a caring alpha that put Lenny first over all things. You can read the book blurb for more info on these two.
This is a short novella, my only complaint... it was too short! Like that hasn't been heard before, lol. I'm hoping for a series, Stedman needs love too!!!
Fated mates, forced proximity, Insta-love, insta-lust, snowed in, all my favorite tropes in one place

I rated this with a 2.25 stars. Since it's the most wonderful time of the year, I have started to read books about the Christmas season. Who knows, I might make a list soon.
And because it's Christmas time, it wouldn't be complete without books with the plot of the MC getting stuck in the middle of a snowstorm and the MMC coming right to the rescue. This is one of those books. It is a bit short, so it was a quick read to fill out that reading goal. If it were written longer, I think it'll be an okay one to read and be able to really push out their connections together, especially since the other guy is a shifter.
