Well, that was addictive...

Listening to the audiobook with the whole cast of voice actors is just awesome.

Roslyn Blackthorne had to fake her death to get away from her husband’s family after discovering their nefarious plans for her and any future children she might have. She has no one to rely on, so she decides to track down Asher, the mysterious hacker from the Mate Games series to ask him to help her get a new identity and a new life. That’s how Rosie ends up working in a bar owned by two shifters in a small Alaskan village, where she will end up meeting her mates. Life is nice and quiet for Rosie in her new home, until dead bodies start showing up in Aurora Spring for the first time in years.

While it is not absolutely necessary to read The Mate Game series first, I would still recommend reading it before reading this spinoff series, because there are mentions of characters and events from the other series. I think it would be easy to follow the plot even if you haven’t read the Mate Game series, but it is more enjoyable to read Deal with the Demon if you can understand all the references to previous events.

We didn’t see much of Roslyn in the Mate Games series, but it was just enough for me to be intrigued by her story, and excited to get to know her better. She is sweet and a little naïve, but she knows it and is ready to learn more about the world after having spent her whole life sheltered by her family. I like that even though she was protected from the harsh world her whole life, and does not have much experience in the open world, she is very determined to learn and be autonomous, and we can see a huge change in her once she starts living in Aurora Spring. She is discovering who she truly is, and she is becoming who she is meant to be, without the restraints or judgment that comes with her family and their social status.

Pan, while being this intriguing and sensual demon, was not my favorite character at all in this book. I liked his intensity, but when compared to the twins…
I liked his accent and suave voice in the Audiobook, but I have to say that, as a francophone, it annoyed me every time he would call Rosie “ma petite monstre” with his weird not French accent, because it is a mistake, it should be “mon petit monstre”. It’s a tiny mistake, but a French mistake nonetheless, and how hard can it be to double-check with a francophone how to say French sentences before publishing a book?! I killed the “sexy mood” for me every time I would hear him call her that.

Bentley Mercer is one of the owners of The Tip. I like that even though he has a stutter that can get quite severe when he is flustered (which happened a lot at first when he was with Rosie), Bentley is not portrayed as a shy character. He is the quiet one of the twins, but he is also confident and strong, and he is as sexy as his brother, just in a different way. Ben is a strong, protective, and caring alpha, and we can see that even though Remi and he are twins, he’s the one that took up the role of mature sibling taking care of his brother.

Remington Mercer owns the bar The Tip, along with his twin. He’s a smooth talker with an easy-going and flirty attitude that makes him very easy to like from the first moment Rosie meets him. He is goofy and he always has the right word to make others smile and defuse a situation, but he is also fiercely loyal, and will not hesitate to defend his loved ones. I also like that he and Asher have a complicated relationship already, it’s not just about Rosie collecting mates right and left, it's also about the mates learning to navigate this new dynamic, and figure out their feelings for each other.

Asher is the mysterious one of the group. He is a phenomenal hacker that lives off the grid and has to remain hidden for his security. Rosie managed to track him down, but besides her, very few people know his true identity and even fewer know his secrets. I don’t like him as much as the twins for now, but he is still a great character, and I am intrigued by his curse. I do hope it will be relevant in the series, and that it’s not just there to add some drama.

This book has explicit smut, and it’s not some sweet vanilla sex either. The characters care for each other, and those feelings are obvious in their interactions and during the spicy scenes, but Rosie discovered a kinky side of her when she let herself taste the freedom of having sex with whoever she wanted to. She has a new identity and is far away from her sheltered life with the Blackthorne, and once she gets a taste of sexual pleasure, she is insatiable. This behavior change might even be a little too quick at times because she goes from being a virgin to having threesomes in a few days or weeks, but it is still well done and didn’t feel rushed.

Super steamy reverse harem audiobook with full cast duet narration!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙❤️💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: 🙂🥰😎🥹
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration type: Duet Narration ✨Full Cast✨

The heroine: Rosalyn Blackthorne (a.k.a. Rosie, a.k.a. Nadia Black) - she is a vampire human hybrid, her father was the king of the North American vampires. She faked her death and ran from her loveless marriage. She had been married to a vampire named Gavin Donohue. She went to a guy named Asher Henry who was to give her a new name, new documents and a new life. Born vampires like her either turn or don’t by a certain age and she never turned so technically she is not a vampire. Though she did have sharper vision, keener sense of smell, better hearing, healing abilities and more.

The Heroes: Asher Henry - he is the supernatural world’s most wanted hacker, and he is cursed. He lives in Aurora Springs, Alaska and only goes into town once a month, and even then, with a disguise and the name Joe Baker. He owns various properties under different names.
Bentley Mercer - he and his brother are wolf shifters that own a local bar. He and his brother offered Rosie a job and a place to live above the bar. He has a bit of a stutter when he is nervous.
Remington Mercer - twin brother to Bentley, he is a wolf shifter. He sometimes hooked up with Asher. He and his brother aren’t part of a pack, they are alone in the world.
Pan - he is a hulking purple demon. He agrees to hide Rosalyn and change her scent, but he demands a big price. He wants her body, her womb, her chance of producing offspring.

The Story: This story got steamy right away. Pan wanted his payment right after meeting Rosie. She met all the guys really early on in the book, though I kind of wanted more information on her marriage and why she really ran. She still fantasized about her husband and though she mentioned he was sadistic, it sounded more in the S&M way, not in the cruel and unusual way. She seemed to like what he did to her in her fantasies. So, I didn’t really know what was going on there.

Though I was surprised at the fact that the prequel was on the audiobook after the first book was completed and it did answer all the questions I had about Rosie’s past. I just wished the prequel would have been before the main book, not after.

This book was super steamy. I would, however, like a bit more story with my smut. Please and thank you! There was some story, but I wish there would have been a better plot with this one. I mean there was the whole, hiding away in Alaska from her husband storyline and each of the guys had some backstory of their own. I just wanted a little bit more.

“What would they think if they burst in here and saw their precious princess being railed by a demon?”

The characters were all well developed, and I loved the diversity of supernatural characters. Bentley was so cute with his stutter. There were also an eclectic mix of bar patrons. Such as an MC full of bear shifters, three funny gargoyles named Tom, Dick and Harry and plenty of other great characters.

This audiobook was told in multiple points of view via duet narration with a full cast of great narrators. It was narrated by J.F. Harding, Jacob Morgan, James Joseph, John Hartley, Stella Hunter, and Teddy Hamilton. I figured I couldn’t go wrong with this series with all these narrators. Stella Hunter always does a fantastic job, and she did a good job with the British accent. Jacob Morgan, J.F. Harding and Teddy Hamilton are some of my favorite male narrators so you can’t go wrong with these guys. James Joseph and John Hartley are new to me, and both have British accents so that sounded very authentic. I don’t know which one was the voice of Pan, but I really disliked his voice. Though overall, the quality of the majority of the narrators was top notch, so I am still giving the highest marks for narration.

This is such a fun why choose romance with such interesting relationship dynamics! I can't even decide who I like more. The heroine is running from an abusive husband, so she makes a deal with a demon to run away and then also has the help of this hacker guy. The hacker guy gets her a job with some friends, who happen to be twin wolves. She's working at their bar and falling for the twins and the hacker, but the demon is angry she's with other people and he wants her for himself. The relationships are fun and the narrator casting was PERFECT for the audiobook. I just had such a good time listening to this and the spice was so good. I definitely can't wait to pick up the next book!

The biggest endorsement I can give for this book is the fact that when I woke up yesterday morning I knew that I had an appointment at 2pm. Then I started reading and listening to Deal with the Demon and I was so into it, so immersed in the world, that I completely forgot about my appointment.

Luckily, my mother remembered it, reminded me at 1pm, I (unwillingly) separated myself from this book, managed to get ready and go where I needed to go.

SO, IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING LINED UP I'M TELLING YOU TO CANCEL IT BEFORE STARTING THIS BOOK BECAUSE IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO STOP READING ONCE YOU START. YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

If you've read the previous Mate Games series then you're already a bit familiar with Rosie, our main character, and if not that's okay because you'll get to know her during the course of the book. But Rosie dearest is still getting to know herself, so in a way the reader is growing with her.

As the title says, Rosie makes a deal with a demon, in exchange for safety. Does this go as planned? Noooope.

I like that the demon is purple, one of my favourite colours. And it goes well with the background colours of the covers for this series.

With that said, Pan is surprisingly not my favourite mate (is he a mate DUN DUN DUN), YOU'D THINK HE WOULD BE, WITH HIS HORNS AND TAIL, BUT NO.

I'm actually having a hard time choosing between the Mercer twins and Asher for my favourite mate spot, they're all equally good for Rosie.

Pan is kind of selfish and has his own nefarious purposes so until he sorts that out he's staying after the holy trio.

And Gavin...we still don't know him enough, so we'll see if he'll outrank the three in some other book.

I have a feeling this book/series is steamier than the first Mate Games was? Also funnier, one of my favourite scenes is Rosie's drunk texting, it was hilarious.

We can't forget the Crombie cameo, when Lilith showed up I was hoping he would too and I was not disappointed.

And the ending was a, you guessed it, cliffhanger. A really good one at that, I can't even be mad. I'm so close to reading the sneak peak but I think that will only make the wait until the next book harder because I'd want to continue immediately and THERE IS NO MORE for now.

Finally, the narration. I could tell this would be good based on the prequel but wow. Wow. Every character's voice sounded so perfect, I'm in awe. Even the side characters had so much personality that I felt like I was listening to them telling me a story, or like I was with them in the room while everything was going down. GET THE AUDIOBOOK, YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

*ALC received from Audibly Addicted in exchange for my honest review. *

After The Mate Games with Sunday and her men I was like there is no way Meg Anne & K. Loraine are going to be able to top what they did here with not only the ending but the entirety of the series. I knew with the ending we hadn't seen the last of this world, but I could have never expected what was to come with Roslyn in Deal with the Demon.

With a delicious spread of men as well as that one naughty demon she can feast upon Roslyn Blackthorne is a lucky girl, except you know the whole having to die thing but I guess you can't have it all...

Aurora Springs Alaska is home now and staying dead is the only way Roslyn can keep her family safe. She needs help from the one person who is supposed to be untraceable, but she found Asher easy enough. Hacker extraordinaire with sandy blonde hair and gorgeous blue eyes he wasn't supposed to be so tempting. He was just supposed to help her become someone new and then that was it, but she can't let go of the pull she has to the human.

Enter Remington & Bentley Mercer, two wolf shifters who own the local bar. The only bar but with two vastly different personalities these boys might just be her ruin but then there is Asher. She can't possibly be having feelings for all three of them, can she?

Oh, and Pan the demon with that lavender gaze that sets her body aflame. Listen, Rosie didn't have a choice she had to make a deal and after all demons are known for making deals that have the protentional to ruin everything.

Rosie is doing what must be done but when bodies start dropping in Aurora Springs for the first time in decades, she isn't the only suspect the sheriff is looking at. There are others who could very well be the cause of all this death but if bodies dropping like flies are the worst of the problem look again. The secrets, and unknown betrayals are just a drop in the bucket for what is to come for Rosie. You mustn't forget the vampire who quite literally has his fangs in her and that pesky Pestilence. There are far too many unknowns hanging in the balance, and this is just the beginning.

I said this with The Mate Games, and I am saying it again go for the audio!! Please, trust me! The cast of narrators has some of your favorites returning like J.F. Harding and James Joseph as well as Stella Hunter literally carrying the voices for every single female who wanders through these pages. Then if that isn't enough to tickle your fancy there is also Jacob Morgan, Teddy Hamilton and John Hartley who is quite new to me but gods he delivered. He delivered so good I had to check myself a couple of times.

Yes, I realize this was longwinded, but I raved about Mate Games, and I adored Sunday as well as all her men but this one y'all this one has something extra. I don't know if it is the secrets that are yet to be revealed, the casting for the narration or just the story with Rosie because she is such a unique character, but I loved this book with my entire heart. I am salivating for book two because we will get more Gavin, yes Gavin. *wink wink*

Ffs. I should have known better than to listen to booktok 🙄

I mean… it’s supposed to be an MMMMMF reverse harem with some mm thrown in, too, and I STILL needed an audiobook. And the list of narrators (yes, every main character has their own narrator) sounded great: J.F. Harding, Jacob Morgan, Teddy Hamilton- just to mention the ones I’ve listened to before.

But guys. I just couldn’t 🙄 it’s supposed to be spicy and slightly kinky, and I rejoiced. Paranormal? Count me in! But the way it’s executed so… poorly. I didn’t connect to their supposed connection, and I’m already 3 hours in. The heroine, Rosie, is on the run from her (vampire) husband (who hasn’t touched her yet), and she staged her death. She tracked down the untrackable hacker wiz Archer because she’s so badass 🙄, who’s secretly been in love with her for a while (🙄 that alone should have been a TW for me. I hate it when every male in a book is in love with the one and only FMC).

But anyway. He tries to stay away from her, and she’s bored, gets drunk and summons a demon to help her alter her scent, so that her husband can’t track her down. And the demon - you guessed it - is incredibly attracted to her and demands her virginity for his help. Which she gladly hands over, because one flick of his forked tongue had her whimpering and moaning 🙄

Then there are the (wolf) shifter twin brothers, who - as soon as they see her - want her, too.

Geeeeez.

I just can’t take it any more. I need to go back to my trusted mm romances, and I think I have some good audio lined up for me there, too.

On top of that, she’s incredibly naive, permanently horny, incapable to perform even the tiniest tasks (like make toast, or cook spaghetti- and we’re not even talking about the sauce. Just plain noodles in water). She’s flirty, but shy. And so pretty that everyone and their uncle falls for her immediately.

If you ask me - don’t pick this one up. I swear to God, it’s terrible. I’ll even make an exception and rate it as a warning, even though I’m only at 30%.

1.5 stars rounded up because of the REALLY good narration.

Rosie is not my kind of people. She is very coddled, useless, has weird priorities and feels like a sex crazed teen. When she couldn't tell apart a tea and a tablespoon I lost all hope for her.
I dropped this book when the Mercer twins said they were 31. Maybe age gaps became my no go. Rosie is 21 and reads like a teen, the guys keep calling her baby girl and maybe it's me not being American or something but for me baby is not a term of endearment, especially when the person on the receiving end reads so young in comparison. She's just so clueless about everything and helpless, and they're her bosses and I just couldn't.
Probably it's me and not the book. Most likely it's me.

ALC- Deal with Demon the Mate Games: Pestilence Book 1
written by K. Loraine & Meg Anne

Hold on to your knickers, clutch those pearls because we are back to the Mate Games and boys and girls you are in for a wild ride. If you love RH paranormal supernatural creatures, with tons of spice and loads of debauchery! THEN THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU.

There are several trigger warnings, so please visit the Mate Games website for a full list prior to reading 👌🏾

OH – MY – GAH! We have some serious talented folks – Perfection to say the least 🙌🏾

Stella Hunter – Roslyn (Rosie) Blackthorn (The Virgin Heroine) aka Nadia
John Hartley – Gavin (The Duke of tears)
JF Harding – Bentley Mercer (The Alpha wolf shifter)
Jacob Morgan – Remington Mercer (The overconfident bisexual wolf shifter)
Teddy Hamilton – Asher (The cursed Hacker)
James Joseph – Pan (The Demon)

The Beginning, the Promised Night, Roslyn, and Gavin’s wedding.
Roslyn not a vampire but also not a human either, very green to all things sexual but is willing to do any and everything her lord duke wants. Once married Gavin the Duke of tears, expert in total submission, appetite for pain over pleasure, with expectations for Roslyn her total submission. He wants to break her, drink from her to walk-in the daylight but something happens. Roslyn is not as innocent as Gavin thought. She craves dominance, a little pain with a bit of BDSM. Drunk on lust, craving his Petal’s virgin blood, the vampire is not prepared for the undeniable desire to provide her total pleasure something he’s not used to doing and something clicks. An emotion so strange within Gavin, he falls in love and found his true Mate! Roslyn later uncovers something that about Gavin that cracks their bond. The Donoghue family is only out for one thing, and she must protect her family at all costs! She does the unthinkable FAKES HER DEATH!

Aurora Alaska, Roslyn locates Asher (the Hacker) to help her stay hidden, and provide her solace so that her family remains safe, but can a human keep her hidden from the supernatural beings without her identity being compromised? Asher is the King of staying low -key and gives assistance with her altering her appearance and awakening Nadia. One major issue Roslyn summons a demon to assist her with wiping her scent, to ensure her secret stays hidden, but at a price, and it is a big one.” Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?”- The Joker. Ahh, we get something much worse! Pan (The Demon) 😈 not only wants her mind, body, and soul. He also wants the one thing no one will ever claim. The tall muscular, horned sex god (ahh the pun is very much intended here) with an enormous appendage 🍆. Did I mention he has a tail, which is just as sensitive as his nether regions and oh boy he uses it! Yup a pleasure and pain giving Demon.

Now that the deal has been made, Asher must ensure he can protect her. He understands he’s no match to keep her safe from the other supernatural creatures, as he is fighting his own desires and instant attraction to her that could put them both in danger.
Asher bargains with a Mercer twin (Remi, a wolf shifter) to provide protection. These two share a naughty bond between them that does not stay a secret for long. Nadia is under the care of the Mercer twins (Ben the Alpha and Remi are identical in every way). They are as close as twins can be, they share EVERYTHING 🥵. They are primal and protectors by nature, their chemistry; sexual energy is hard to deny but Nadia must remember her deal with Pan.
Nadia has tapped into her sexual awakening, and is finding hard to resist the Mercer twins, Asher and of course Pan the demon. They have all have staked their claim as her MATE. Have we forgotten Gavin, oh hell no! As this delicious tale continues to spiral out of control; Gavin lurking behind the scenes has located his Roslyn, only to discover she is not only his! Neither man nor supernatural creature is willing to let her go. Havoc unleashed, jealousy, dark secrets, and unknown true identities what is the fate of them all? Ahh! Meg and Kim no more Cliffy Hangers!!! (In my Mommie dearest voice.)

I can appreciate the nods to Twilight (Edward and Jacob) Peter Pan and my favorite Harry Potter. The banter in this tale, I found myself laughing out loud several times. Kim and Meg are brilliant with the story line and all-star cast who brought this first installment to life. I cannot wait for Book 2 in the series Claimed by the Shifters.

I rate these 5 stars if I could give it 10 I would. I was fortunate to get an Advance Listeners Copy of Deal with the Demon Book 1, my honest opinion. Do not be the one hearing about it, be the one talking about it! Whoop whoop!!!

**Audio Review**
Sweet sugar and Oh baby girl! Deal with the Demon by K. Loraine and Meg Anne was a dark, twisted, and steamy why choose paranormal romance that captivated my attention (and had me fanning myself) from start to finish. Just when I think the Mate Games world can’t get any hotter, these ladies give us a set of brand-new characters to fall in love with and a whole new level of spice! This is book one in The Mate Games: Pestilence series and gives the story of Roslyn Blackthorne, who is supposed to be dead.

Stella Hunter, John Hartley, James Joseph, Teddy Hamilton, Jacob Morgan, and J.F. Harding narrate this audio, and WOW were these roles cast to perfection! Stella Hunter gives us her posh British accent to narrate the brave and determined vampire hybrid Rosie. John Hartley is dominantly arrogant as Rosie’s long-lost husband. Teddy Hamilton shines as loveable, helpful hacker, Asher. James Joseph makes Pan, the deviant possessive demon irresistible. (and the French endearments!) Plus, Jacob Morgan and J.F. Harding are both spot on as hot hunky wolf twin shifters. I developed quite a soft spot for Bentley! This entire cast did an amazing job, and we are just getting started.

Overall, I LOVED this audiobook. If you are a fan of a why choose romance with a sweet, sassy vampire hybrid on the run, a visit to a small remote Alaskan town, a hermit hacker, twin wolf shifters who own a bar, a sexy determined demon, mate bonds, secrets, danger, murder, a dominant intimidating husband, all the steam, and an ending that will leave you wanting more, then you will love Deal with a Demon. I’m looking forward to Claimed by Shifters next!

This was one darkly decadent RH PNR! The bar was set so high for this next installment of the Mate Games Series for me. Meg Anne and Kim definitely came to slay me with this one. The character building (as this is book 1) was exceptional! I was just so blown away chapter by chapter. This book is just so utterly phenomenal!
Rosie, our heroine, fakes her own death, and runs away to hide to get a new identity and life. She runs to Asher. A super grumpy hacker (who helped her brothers mate in the past) in a sleepy town in Alaska for help. He’s definitely not happy to be found out, but something about Rosie makes him not able to turn her away. She realizes she needs to stay hidden, and feels like she has no other choice than to make a deal with a demon to make sure she’s never found out. Pan (the demon) is just is just too happy to help her out. He owns her now, and doesn’t let her forget about it. Pan is one sadistic, sinful, dirty talking demon with one kinky tail. She gets a job at a local pub owned by twin werewolf shifters. Remi, the laid-back of the pair, is immediately drawn to her and can’t stop himself from wanting to take her. Ben, the broody and crabby of the pair is completely flustered by her, he wants her so much. They share everything. Even partners. They both have never felt this way about any woman before ever. All of these men are taking room inside Rosie’s mind. She also can’t stop thinking of her estranged husband, Gavin, the vampire Lord that she left behind. She’s wondering how she can choose just 1? This book was filled with so much delicious banter, heart stopping action, and a few times my heart just sank with sadness.
This narration duet cast was brilliant! Stella Hunter as Rosie was just perfect. Her British accent and soft, sweet then super saucy tone was perfection! Teddy Hamilton played Asher’s grumpy and over protective nature wonderfully. J.F. Harding as Ben? Oh my sweet grumpy Ben! He is my favorite of Rosies men. He did an amazing job bringing Ben’s stubbornness, vulnerability, sarcastic, and super sexy side out. So fun with all the comebacks! John Hartley has Gavin, oh boy that sinister tone he used? It definitely lived up to the “Duke Of Tears” nickname! James Joseph was just so deliciously wicked good as the controlling skillfully tongued demon, Pan. Jacob Morgan, as Remi was the stand out performance for me. He was just so perfect portraying Remi’s playful, fun, witty, and protective personality, so well. When he said ,”accents are my wolf nip”…. I just died.

I absolutely love this whole series. I think the audiobooks are well done and the writing is fun and quippy and adventurous. this second series is set up well and I'm interested and excited to see where things go. I love, LOVE, the twins. But honestly, I think there was way too much sex in this. I cannot even believe I'm saying that. The scenes are good and definitely propel the plot forward, but it just seemed like a sex fest one after another. I cannot tell if I like Pan or Gavin yet but I'm positive my mind will change.

On to book 2!

**Audiobook Review**
Just when I thought the Mate Games universe couldn't get any sexier, darker, or more delectable, Meg Anne and K. Loraine up their game again! Deal with the Demon is book one in The Mate Games: Pestilence series and follows the supposedly deceased, Roslyn Blackthorne.

Stella Hunter, Jacob Morgan, James Joseph, J.F. Harding, John Hartley, and Teddy Hamilton narrate. The casting couldn't have been more perfect! Stella Hunter is an aural delight in her British accent as Roslyn, aka Rosie. John Hartley is downright devilish as Rosie's estranged husband, Gavin. Teddy Hamilton is back as the grumpy and sarcastic hacker, Asher, from The Mate Games, Obsession. James Joseph absolutely delivers all the sexiness as Pan, the demon who now owns Rosie and doesn't let her forget it. Jacob Morgan and J.F. Harding round out this hotter than hot harem as the twin wolf shifters, Remington and Bentley! This entire cast was stellar, and it's only book 1.

I don't want to give spoilers, but let's just say sharing is caring, demons have naughty tails, sword crossing is sexy, gargoyles are hilarious bar regulars, and bear shifters are the new "Chad". The banter in this one is next level and I may or may not have woken up my poor hubby from laughing so loud. Also, it wouldn't be a Mate Games book without a crazy cliffhanger! *shakes fist* I cannot wait for Claimed by the Shifters.

Get this is your ears ASAP!!!👩🏽‍🍳💋

Format: eBook and Audiobook.
Narrators: 🎙️ Stella Hunter, J.F. Harding, Jacob Morgan, James Joseph, John Hartley, Teddy Hamilton.
Narration Style: 🎧 Full Cast.
Whispersync For Voice Ready? ✅ Yes.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Plot:
Fake your own death ✅
Escape an evil vampire husband ✅
Accidentally sell your soul to a demon in the process… Ummmm….✅

When Rosie Blackthorne ditches her crown and runs to Alaska to start fresh, she never expected to land in the middle of a supernatural soap opera—with shifter twins, a grumpy hacker, and one very, very tempting demon all in the mix. The only problem? The past never stays buried, and Roslyn might’ve just swapped one cage for another…
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Narrator Chemistry and About The Main Characters:

This is not just an audiobook, it’s an experience. The full cast makes every scene come alive and it sucks you in.

Stella Hunter as Rosie: Chef’s kiss. She nails Roslyn’s sass and badassery. She speaks with a British accent for this series and she does it SO WELL! Rosie is half-vampire princess on the run from her psycho ex-husband. She’s clever, resourceful, and done playing by the rules. But freedom comes at a cost, and making deals with demons might be just as dangerous as marrying a vampire… or maybe way more fun.

James Joseph as Pan: Warning: Will cause excessive simping. Deep, smooth, and dangerously alluring, James absolutely slays this character. He’s got that “I could destroy your life but make you like it” energy. Every line drips with power and seduction, making the tension between him and Rosie so much sharper.

Jacob Morgan as Remi: Jacob infuses Remi, one of the shifter twins, with charm, charisma and a whole lotta sass. Honestly, Jacob can do no wrong.

J.F. Harding as Ben: J.F. delivers a brilliant performance as Ben, the more reserved twin. He captures his protective instincts and the subtlety of his emotions perfectly (especially with the nervous stutter).

Teddy Hamilton as Asher: Teddy's portrayal of Asher the hacker, adds so much depth to the character. He’s a complex dude and he’s hiding a massive pile of secrets.

John Hartley as Gavin: So John is a new to me narrator. Excuse me, Mr Hartley? Where have you been all of my audiobook life? John portrays Gavin, Rosie’s estranged vampire husband. He has a crooner smooth voice, and he brings the dark obsessive nature in Gavin to life.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Feels:
Laughter: 😂 3.5/5 The sarcasm and the banter are absolutely top tier, Mwah.
Swooniness: 🫠 5/5 Pan exists and that’s all you need to know.
Suspense: 🕵️‍♂️4.5/5 The stakes are HIGH. Who can Rosie trust? What’s Pan’s deal? Will her ex catch up?
Plot Twists: 🔀 4/5 Just when you think you’ve got it figured out, BAM—plot twist at the end.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sizzle Scale:
Scorching 🔥 4/5 This book does not hold back. The chemistry, the tension, the deliciously forbidden energy? It’s all there.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Book Bite:

"Deal with the Demon" is a rollercoaster of supernatural drama, steamy romance, and pure addictive chaos. If you love found family, badass heroines, and dangerous men with secrets (and abs 😉), this one belongs on your TBR. The audiobook? An absolute must. It’s got that full-cast magic that makes you feel like you’re inside a Netflix fantasy series. Get the audiobook. Trust me. It’s worth every second.

NOTE: Don’t forget to read the prequel at the end, it sheds light into how Rosie and Gavin came to be. Very interesting indeedy!

Tropes:
Paranormal Romance.
Enemies to Lovers.
Faked Death Escape.

Deal with the Demon by Meg Anne and K. Loraine is a why choose paranormal romance that I listened to on audio narrated by J.F. Harding, Jacob Morgan, James Joseph, John Hartley, Stella Hunter, and Teddy Hamilton.

This is the first book in The Mate Games: Pestilence series. When you purchase the audiobook, it also includes the prequel novella Promised to the Night.

I loved The Mate Games series and was so excited when they announced they were doing this spin-off series following Noah's sister Rosalyn. They did an amazing job pulling me in from the first chapter. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I am loving the chemistry between Rosalyn, Asher, Pan, Bently, Remington, and Gavin. I loved that we got all of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The book ended on a great cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait for the next book in the series Claimed by the Shifters to be released on February 27, 2023.

I absolutely love that they do a full cast of narrators for this series. It really brings the story to life. You can't help but binge the audiobook in one sitting.

I would recommend this book if you like paranormal romances, why choose romances, or fated mate's romances.

I really enjoy the characters and the plot, this book has great potential. I like how different the MMC’s are and the FMC starts off soft and sweet, yet continues to grow throughout the book. I think it needs some refinement tho, some of the dialogue seems forced/doesn’t flow well. There are a couple typo’s here and there, but it’s not affecting my review. I think the author should put in the descriptions that it’s a fast burn romance, which is normally not my style. I also think some of the chapters should be condensed together, it feels like we get into a great point but it stops too short and jumps to another subject….It just needs more….substance too it.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

(audiobook) In the previous series, we met some of the characters who get their story here. So to say I was excited about this book is an understatement. And my very high expectations were mostly satisfied.

It’s again a character oriented series.

We get an officially married and dead vampire as the heroine. Rosie has married her family’s enemy, Gavin, then faked her death to escape this marriage. She’s determined to use the skills of a previously met character, Asher the hacker, to stay hidden. But where she ends up in Alaska, she meets twin werewolves, Remi and Ben, and makes an arrangement with demon Pan. And that’s how Rosie loses her V card.

Rosie is, of course, the fated mate of every member of her little harem. They all feel a pull to her that they can’t understand–but the readers who enjoyed the first series may have an inkling of what’s happening. Gavin, her kinky possessive vampire husband; Asher, the cursed hacker, who has an intimate relationship with; Remington, the flirty werewolf; and his twin brother, the stuttering and broody Bentley; and Pan, the demon who asks for her blood.

The array of males displayed here was quite impressive, and also different from the mates in the first series. Clearly, the authors were careful to write new dynamics into their book. Even Rosie is a new kind of heroine–though she shares some characteristics with Sunday, like the fact that she’s an outsider in her race.

To keep writing something new, the authors also sped up the way Rosie accepts the various men in her life. I understand the reason behing their choice, but I must admit I wasn’t a fan of how fast Rosie falls in bed–and in love–with every one of them. I’d have enjoyed more building up. I felt it didn’t leave Rosie much time to really know each of them. And as she’s introduced as a virgin, that was some leap from no man ever to five men.

The setting changed too. The characters are stuck in a small town in Alaska, where everybody has something to hide–a good pretext to surround the characters with various creatures. I liked this idea a lot, and the side characters are pretty interesting.

And of course, there’s a grand scheme. We get just a hint at what is planned for Rosie, with most of the mystery kept in the dark. Add to that a killing spree, and you can imagine the tension and suspense that fill this book.

And it’s another great cast of narrators behind the audio. The female narrator comes back for the heroine, with a slight British accent that comes and goes–but for legitimate reasons. Gavin’s narrator is full on British, and perfect for the angry vampire with his deep voice. Asher’s brings a nervous energy that works well for the hacker. You’ll fall in love with the cute stutter of Bentley’s narrator. What a performance! Flirty Remington’s narrator gets his nonchalance, but goes angry when it’s needed. And finally, Pan’s narrator offers a strange mix of British accent and French words that is weirdly enticing. They all do a great job, and clearly enhance a book that is pretty good in the first place.

Quickie

- Series: The mate games: Pestilence #1 (linked to another series by the same authors and ends on a cliffhanger)
- Hashtags: #paranormal romance #reverse harem #werewolf #vampire #human #demon #new adult #kinks #bisexual #virgin #twins
- Triggers: various kinks, violence and death (off page), technically cheating
- Main “couple”: Roslyn Blackthorne & (Remington Mercer/Bentley Mercer/Gavin Donoghue/Asher Henry)
- Hotness: 5+++/5
- Romance: 3/5
- + the characters are all compelling
- – not enough build up before Rosie falls for every man

“I didn’t recognize this woman. The one who wanted to keep all of them. I blamed my sister-in-law. Until her, I wouldn’t have ever imagined the possibility of multiple love interests. Why should I choose? Sunday bloody well hadn’t.”

Welcome back to The Mate Games by K. Loraine and Meg Anne! We start out with the prequel novella, Promised to the Night. Roslyn Blackthorne (Rosie), the sweet and innocent sister of Noah, finds herself arranged to be married to Gavin Donoghue to end the feud between their families. She quickly realizes that the marriage is more than what she agreed to. When she finds out his family’s true intentions for her, she decides that Rosie needs to die to save herself and her family.

Deal with the Demon is the first installment in The Mate Games: Pestilence series. Kim and Meg have captivated us once again with this provocative, why choose series opener. The story begins in Aurora Springs, Alaska where Asher Henry, a black-hatted hacker, is about to become Rosie’s savior. Asher can help Rosie with everything, with the exception of her scent. One lonely night, Rosie drunk-summons a demon, Pan- the gorgeous, purple-horned, forked-tongued and tailed demon- and is shocked when it actually works. Pan is more than happy to strike a deal with Rosie to mask her scent, but you know what they say about the best laid plans, they never quite go as expected.

After making her a new identity, Asher dumps Rosie on the Mercer twins, Bentley and Remington. With them she has a job, a place to live, and an unexpected connection to both twins. Combine that with her attraction to her delectable and depraved demon, her elusive hacker and her estranged and sadistic husband, and we find ourselves on the edge of our seats knowing there is so much more deliciousness to come. Can she stay hidden from Gavin? When will she find out that her deal with the demon was more than she bargained for? Will Rosie continue to explore the attraction and connection that she feels for all her men? What does Pestilence have in store for this round of the Mate Games?

This multi-cast audiobook is narrated in duet by Stella Hunter, Teddy Hamilton, J.F. Harding, John Hartley, James Joseph, and Jacob Morgan. Stella Hunter flawlessly embodies Rosie’s determination and fragility, as well as showcasing her amazing talent with her wide range of accents. We can always count on Teddy to deliver a delightfully entertaining performance. J.F. Harding blew us away with the depth of his acting by showcasing Ben’s quiet vulnerabilities and strength. John Hartley personifies the deviant wickedness of Gavin. James Joseph’s portrayal as the demon is something we never knew we needed. Him tauntingly singing is hot as hell and freaking creepy at the same time. It’s something dreams and nightmares are made of! Jacob Morgan as the flirtatious Remi is pure sexiness. Watch out #jeddy fans, you’re in for a treat. Rosie’s story has only just begun… we can’t wait to see what Kim & Meg have in store for us in Claimed by the Shifters, releasing in February.

"She wasn't mine to keep, but what would happen if I could never let her go?"

Review of Deal with the Demon by K. Loraine & Meg Anne (Audiobook Edition)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Narration | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Story

What happens when you pair a darkly addictive paranormal fantasy with a dream team of narrators? Pure magic. Deal with the Demon introduces listeners to a cast of unforgettable characters each prickly, dangerous, or deliciously complicated in their own way while laying the groundwork for what promises to be a wickedly entertaining reverse harem series.

First, let’s talk narration. With Stella Hunter, Teddy Hamilton, J.F. Harding, John Hartley, James Joseph, and Jacob Morgan, this production is nothing short of an all-star performance. Every voice is distinct and the chemistry between narrators practically crackles through your headphones. It’s one of those rare audiobooks where the cast elevates the material to another level entirely. Five stars for the narration alone honestly, it’s worth listening for that experience even if you’ve never dipped into this genre before.

As for the story without spoiling anything you’re dropped into a world where demons, shifters, dukes, hackers, and more are tangled together in a plot brimming with secrets, tension, and slow-burn chaos. There’s an undeniable “assembling the pieces” vibe here: an introduction to the players and the stakes, with tantalizing hints of what’s to come. While nothing full-blown “RH” happens yet, the setup is clear, and fans of the trope will be rubbing their hands in anticipation.

Of course, this isn’t for everyone. If grumpy dukes with a penchant for pain, purple demons with creative anatomy, nosy hackers who don’t know the meaning of privacy, and angsty wolf shifters with sharing tendencies aren’t your jam, then you may want to steer clear. But if that lineup makes you grin? Buckle up you’re in for a treat.

Bottom line: Deal with the Demon is a forking good listen, equal parts intrigue, heat, and laugh-out-loud fun, with narration that deserves a standing ovation. I’ll definitely be continuing this series, headphones at the ready.

K. Loraine and Meg Anne have done it again! They’ve given us a fantastic new series that hits the ground running in the most thrilling, suspenseful and spicy way. I can already tell that this spinoff of the Mate Games series is going to be one wild ride and I’m here for all of it! Deal with the Demon tells the story of Roslyn “Rosie” Blackthorne, Noah’s sister, and I couldn’t love it and her more. After her sudden marriage to vampire duke Gavin Donoghue, Rosie fears for the life of her family and fakes her own death. Despite being young and somewhat naïve, she is incredibly brave. Her first stop is Asher Henry, the handsome wolf hacker who gives her an alias and helps her hide. He finds her a job at a bar owned by Ben and Remi Mercer, the wolf/shifter twins. These men couldn’t be more different and therefore couldn’t be more fun. Remi is funny and flirty while Ben quickly steals her heart with his sweet sincerity. In order to help cover her tracks, she also makes a dangerous deal with a demon, Pan. He’s all kinds of trouble and drives her wild every time he summons her. All of her men are hard to resist, including Gavin when we learn his true feelings for her. Each one will draw you in and steal a part of your heart (and make you swoon and melt along the way). And all the while, there is the constant threat of danger lurking about and so much wonderful suspense. This book is filled to the brim with thrilling action, snarky banter and so much heat that you won’t want to stop listening. It was fantastic and the cliffhanger had me reeling! I’m so curious what’s going to happen next and just can’t wait for more!

I listened to the audiobook and the star studded cast in this duet narration is incredible! Stella Hunter, JF Harding, James Joseph, Teddy Hamilton, and Jacob Morgan are each amazing in their own right and have created the perfect voices for these unique characters. I loved every second and hung on every word as it completely drew me in to this exciting world!

This audiobook is like listening to a paranormal soap opera especially when you have a full cast for the characters. It took me back to my high school days when I would rush home to watch Dark Shadows. It was when I first fell in love with the paranormal genre. Our authors have solidified that love.

I will love reading the e-book after I finish listening to the audio version so that I have voices in my head when revisiting the characters. But the series will best be “tasted” in audio. I was left wishing that this series would continue so that I could have a marathon and revisit characters that I fell in love with here. The only thing better would be to see it on television. Maybe I can use the power of suggestion and send my thoughts to the powers that be at the SyFy network.

Our authors are the perfect couple. They are a great combination of creative minds. It’s not hard to get carried away to a world that is part real, part fantasy, part suspense, and pure s*x appeal. This book is not for those that don’t like “adult” relationships and the use of strong language. Fans of these authors are going to be pleased with this latest addition.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

OH MY GOD, this book is holy spice - it's just 5/5 spice right away. I have been anticipating this book since forever, and the AUDIO BOOK is worth it.

I really adore the Twins. I just couldn't get enough of them, but then PAN. PAN, the big and purple..delicious demon, enters the chat. There were parts that made me laugh so loud omg I passed away to the next realm. The spice in this book does that too.

We got Rosie trying to hide her identity and fake her death. She blends in with the paranormal locals of Alaska, but of course, I couldn't resist the men in this book either. I love the fact she doesn't curse, lol! It's so funny and cute.

I will say the Voice Actors did a great job with this one. They produce the best audio books EVER. So hard to listen to in the public cause of the jaw-dropping spice. Clutching my imaginary pearls.

Wow, what an introdution into two new tropes #reverseharem (RH) and #paranormal (PRN)!

It was an incredible yarn but best experienced in audio as its multi-cast #duet and it is phenomenal!  I've also found two new narrators #jamesjoseph and #johnhartley to add to my list!

If you are reading, remember to read the prequel "Promised to the Night" which is included in the audio.

This is full of smut and Rosie is such a sl*t and can barely keep her knickers on from one chapter to the next while pleasuring the demon and  her mates, but perhaps that's because she's a vampire. What I didn't get was surely if you mate with one, you can't mate with everyone?? Anyway I suppose I'll get used to the idea as it's my first shape shifter book too!!

I now can't wait for book #2 to drop next month and  I may be in the minority but I'm on Gavin's Side!  😉

Narrators:

Gavin = John Hartley
Pan = James Joseph
Asher = Teddy Hamilton
Remi = J.F. Harding
Ben = Jacob Morgan
Rosie = Stella Hunter

(4.5 stars)

If you loved getting lost in the Mate Games world, you have seen anything from the dynamic author duo; Meg Anne and K. Loraine. Their world of vampires, shifters, humans, and fey has just gotten so much bigger. Get ready for an all new adventure in the first book of their new series, "The Mate Games: Pestilence."

Deal with the Demon, follows the recently "deceased" Roselyn Blackthorn and her journey to starting a new life away from dangers her name brings. She finds herself in a sleepy town in Alaska and in path of a hermit hacker, a demon, and a few wolf-shifters. Roselyn finds herself a new life that so different than the one she left behind. Find out how she copes for yourself.

This audiobook is narrated by Teddy Hamilton, J.F. Harding, John Hartley, Stella Hunter, James Joseph, and Jacob Morgan. This ensemble cast is on fire in duet narration. Teddy Hamilton is the broody hermit hacker, Asher. One half of the wolf-shifter twins is the strong, silent, and protective Bentley, played by J.F. Harding. Stella Hunter is the badass yet naïve heroine, Roselyn "Rosie" Blackthorn. In the role of the devilishly handsome and dominant vampire is John Hartley. This book introduce a new breed of character in the deal dealing demon of Pan, played by James Joseph. And finally, the second half of the wolf-shifter twins is the endless flirt, Remington Mercer aka Jacob Morgan. You will fall in the love with this cast of character and maybe even find yourself hating some of them at the same time.

Plot: 4/5 • Smut: 4/5 ———-> Rosie, half human, half vampire is on the run. She finds solace in a remote part of Alaska with the help of a “friend”. While waiting for this friend to return to his remote cabin Rosie summons a demon and makes a deal. Her life for her body. Once, Asher, the friend, returns to the cabin she somewhat gets tossed out to two shifters who own a bar where she will begin to work. Rosie has her heart entangled with Asher, two twin shifters and a demon all while trying to remain hidden. This has great smut. Loved the scenes with Pan, the demon. And we get some M|M 😍. Ends on an anticlimactic cliffy. Unfortunately with that ending it left little to be desired on continuing.

Book: Deal with the Demon
Author: K. Loraine & Meg Anne
Recommend: yes
Spice: 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️ 🌶️
Age recommendation: 18-30+ Years

Plot:
Roslyn Blackthorn tracks down Asher to get anew identity. After she arrives it becomes clear that Asher is one sexy AF and she is drawn to him, but also completely standoffish towards her. She makes a deal with a demon to change her scent to Fae, in return she becomes Barron, and sells her soul to demon. Asher gets her a job at the local bar run by 2 shifters who are identical twins. One ben has a stutter and one Rem, both alphas and have no pack unless you count the 2 of them being in there own pack. They take her on, only to discover themselves complete drawn towards her and her scent of arrosal. After some time they discover she is there Mate. The do what they can to keep her safe from the other shifters, but also try to explain to her what it means to be there mate. She explain to them she cannot be with them cause she is attracted to Asher and them. She also explains to them her issues with the demon who has her soul. They are ok with it all and want to mark her and allow her to have them all. The book ends with her Husband turning up at the bar in town.

My feelings:

So as we all know I love a storyline to go along with my many chapters of Smut. Meg Anne and K.Loraine do this for me.

”When Asher returned, he was barefoot, wearing a pair of low-slung black sweats and pulling on a Henley in the same shade. His face was scrubbed clean, revealing sharp cheekbones and a jaw of golden stubble. Jesus Forking Christ, he was handsome in person.”

If you ever wants hot hot hot hot chapters filled with allllllll the most unspoken things this is for you! Oh hot dam these 2 know how to write steamy steamy chapters of pure filth. Im 100% here for it all.

”Then I remembered his number saved in my phone. Me: Are you alive? Me: I’m very drunk and likely about to be sick all over your home. Me: Have I mentioned I get quite nosy when I’ve been drinking? What kind of secrets do you have in this house? Me: Do you have a sex dungeon? Me: Maybe I’ll wait there.”

So far this series is amazing, we don’t have to go though the many many chapters of the girl wondering why she wants more then one mate, how to explain it. Rosie knows what she wants, knows it possible cause of her brothers wife’s Harem so she isn’t scared to voice it.

We do have a girl who has 0 sexual experience, and is learning what fun all these naughty and dirty things can do, and is willing to try it all without shame. Im all here for it.

Please Please Please get the audio. These books are written for audio. They are hot AF without it, but with it they are panty soaking Hot!

So lets talk about the Main MCs:
Rosie, ohhhhhhhh I love her. She is so innocent, and also so not. Her proper English is just adorable. I love how she refuses to cuss, but when she dose she uses funny words to replace them.

’She melted against me. “Stop being sorry and tell me what’s going on in that head of yours. We haven’t really spoken since . . . everything. Do you even still want me?” “D-do I w-want you? Are you k-kidding?” I spun her around so I could look into her eyes. “I w-want you so bad my chest hurts.” “Even if you have to share me?” She didn’t mention Asher’s name, but I knew that was who she was referring to. “However I c-can have you.”

Asher, dude, you are so depraved of love. Get out of your dungeon and go get some. I believe he has a very very sweet side that is just calling out to Rosie but refuses to allow it out.

“So you asked your husband to . . . fork you. I can just imagine it. ‘Oh, fork me. Fork me harder, Daddy.’”

Ben, I think ben is going to be the one with the hardest side. He knew he wanted her and that she was his mate straight away, and refuses to do it all wrong. But also cannot talk about his feelings, run off when he gets overwhelmed and with his stutter finds it hard to say anything at all. Im gonna fall for this one the hardest for sure.

’“Sh-she’s m-mine,” Ben growled, his eyes narrowing in warning, and God help me, my belly fluttered. The intensity in his voice gripped me by the heart and squeezed. He’d laid claim to me in front of them, and I liked it but feared the consequences at the same time.”

Rem, ohhhhh im all here for the man who can swing 2 ways. Hot dam! I love when these characters are bought into books. Bringing out my most hidden side and putting it on paper. Hot dam. Oh and did I mention he is sweet, and impatient, and Mean and an alpha….. Yerp he is an all in package type.

”“It’s the s-same for me. I w-want her all the time.” “Ben . . . I think she’s our—” He finished my sentence. “Mate.”

Gavin…… now im not sure about this one. He is also her mate if we take the prequel on board, which means he will either have to jump into this harem and accept it all, or die. I don’t like him so far. And normally I love the villain in all books, but this time I don’t like him. I don’t see him as the villain either, I see him as the one who needs to die so we can get the HEA.

”Her little intake of breath said it all. I’d won, and she liked it. “Yes, my lord.”

Pan…. Now this is who I feel like is the Villian and im all here for him. Hot dam, Demon with a size changing penis and is a Dom….. Yerp he is hot. I think he might end up a sub with Rosie…. But we shall see.

“Once we do this, you’re mine. You understand? My good little slut. You’ll never be rid of the reminders I leave behind.”
