Jaymie Voogt has lived in Canada her whole life. She eloped in 2015 and is a mother to two kids, soon to be three! In July 2021 she decided to write the stories that have been in her head repeatedly for the last 15 years to help with the anxiety and stress she was feeling during the pandemic. What was supposed to be words on a page as a hobby has turned into multiple series waiting to be edited and published.
This book.. was amazing on so many levels! Vampires, werewolves, witches and so much more! This story was enthralling from the first page to the last. The characters were unique, witty and had depth. The plot was very well developed and left me wanting the next book as soon as possible. The author has brought new elements into this book that I have not read before and it was so refreshing to have something new incorporated into the genre. Don’t get me wrong, I love a lot of the typical tropes that go into werewolf and vampire books, however they can be overplayed. This, on the other hand, was far from that general population of forgettable tropes. If you are a lover of fantasy books, this will not disappoint you. I binged the entire book within a day because I couldn’t put it down!
I was hooked from the beginning. It was very easy to read and fast paced. The FMC and a bit of the plot reminded me of Celaena from Thorne of glass but with vampires and lycans. I wish the relationships were developed a bit more, I like the grinding before a relationship while in here everything was already in place. Hopefully with the next I’ll get some grinding. Will definitely read the next book in the series.
Absolutely fantastic! The plot has left me wanting the next book as soon as possible. I love reading this genre because of the fantasy escape it can bring, the author has done just that, she has given the readers a way to delve into the world of Vampires, Lycans, Witches and more by beautifully creating the realm in this book! A must read! :)
Seriously, though, this book hits you hard! The type of hard that will have you throwing your kindle in anger and cursing the sky while simultaneously running to pick it back up so you can read the next sentence🖤
Lovers of From Blood and Ash series be on alert because this book needs to be on your TBR or, better yet, download it for free on Kindle Unlimited.

THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!!!
I can't go into any more details because I don't want to spoil anything for the next reader. What I can say is I have highlighted like a crazy woman, screamed out at my dinner table while reading, and I am unbelievably eager to get my hands on books two!
Cece does not live a normal life like everyone else. She is the Huntress. A once thought mythical being made from combining the royal bloodlines of vampires, lycans, humans, faeries, and witches. She serves the King of the South, but that doesn't stop everyone in the south from wanting to drink her dry because she smells delicious. The people in the kingdom to the north want her dead as well, and when the faeries show up after being out of the picture for centuries and try to kill her while she is alone in the woods, well that only complicates things further.
If Cece dies before her 25th birthday she will really be dead and there is no coming back from that, but if she dies after her 25th birthday, then she will come back having ascended into her true immortal form. No one knows what she will become after that, or do they know and they are simply keeping it a secret as just another means to control Cece and help bring power to their realm? Cece is quickly running out of time to decide if she wants to remain alive and human, or become immortal and take on her true form. Will she side with the North or the South, and will all of the troubles coming their way will Cece and Axel, the Lycan Prince and her only friend be able to work together and overcome what is trying to come between them? Will she find the answers to her questions, even those she is afraid to ask?
I loved this book! It was fast paced, held my interest, and had fantastic world building and great introductions to the territories and their rulers and the fight between them. There was drama, mystery, intrigue, and plenty of romance for Cece! There were many different mythical fantasy characters that each had their own special set of characteristics and skills that made them unique.
This book is the start of a series and book one ends on a cliffhanger, so I am anxious to pick up the next in the series and see what happens to our feisty huntress heroine and what kind of life she will pick for herself, and if she will find all of the answers she is looking for. I would highly recommend this book, especially if you are someone who enjoys fantasy and mystery!
"The King's Huntress" by Jaymie Voogt is a thrilling journey through a world dominated by vampires, where time is a luxury, except for Cece, whose life hangs by a thread as her immortal birthday approaches. Voogt masterfully crafts a tale filled with intrigue, danger, and unexpected alliances.
From the outset, Cece's life is a precarious balance between survival and chaos, with vampires from the south thirsting for her blood, and enemies from the north plotting her demise before her impending immortality. The resurgence of long-lost faeries only adds to the turmoil, placing Cece squarely in the crosshairs of multiple threats.
What sets "The King's Huntress" apart is its richly imagined world and complex characters. Cece's journey of self-discovery, aided by the enigmatic Lycan Prince, is fraught with secrets and betrayals that keep readers on the edge of their seats. As the layers of deception are peeled back, trust becomes a scarce commodity, and Cece must navigate a treacherous path to uncover the truth about herself and her enemies.
One aspect that may initially disorient readers is the narrative structure, as "The King's Huntress" unfolds from the perspectives of four different characters. This multiplicity of viewpoints can be slightly confusing at the outset, as readers adjust to shifting voices and viewpoints. However, once acclimated, this narrative choice adds depth and complexity to the story, offering insights into various characters' motivations and inner conflicts. Moreover, it propels the plot forward with a dynamic energy, ensuring that the pace never falters. Ultimately, while the initial adjustment may pose a challenge, readers will find that the book's rapid momentum and multifaceted storytelling more than compensate for any initial confusion.
In "The King's Huntress," Voogt has crafted a gripping tale of survival, identity, and the power of resilience in the face of insurmountable odds. Fans of dark fantasy and paranormal romance will find much to love in this captivating story. Highly recommended for anyone craving an adrenaline-fueled adventure into a world where danger lurks around every corner and nothing is as it seems.
First I’d like to thank the author for providing me with this opportunity to ARC this book.
I would like to start off by saying that I absolutely need to read book two now.
We begin by being introduced to our FMC in a hunt for which we do not know why but soon come to find out that she was told and believed to be a Huntress, coveted by a King who we clearly get a sense that he’s malicious in every way and rules his land with Fear. The story continues to portray the FMCs “coming of age” as she enters into a change. As she reaches the of 25 she struggles with finding who she is and what it is she truly desires while fighting herself with who she has been groomed to be.
This story frustrated me with the characters (FMC and others ) inability to make decisions and lack of honesty with oneself and with others. It tells a story of how fear and grooming can alter one’s path and ability to live true. I understood though, at the same time because of the grooming and the misguided awareness why these characters acted as such. And although frustrated, it still kept me reading because I just had to know what happened next and I kept hope these characters would soon find their voice and makes moves.
This FMC is coming into her own and slowly learning and coming to terms with who she is and who she is meant to be. I can not wait for this story to continue so I can watch that light come to life!
I also enjoyed the fact that the author portrayed the viewpoints from each main character. Allowing the reader to understand each in their thoughts and POVs.
The King's Huntress Blood Realm #1 Fantasy, NA Jaymie Voogt ⭐️⭐️.5
The synopsis of this book initially drew me in and I couldn't wait to start it.
I usually like books with multiple POVs but for some reason, the 4 POVs in this book just didn't work for me. Sometimes it didn't actually feel like a different POV because it read the same.
I found it was weirdly worded in some parts - either the wrong word was used or a sentence was just phrased wrong. I think with some more editing it could be made better because there were some other mistakes.
The pacing was ok. I didn't fly through it but it didn't take me days to finish reading either. The world building was detailed but when it came to the relationship between Rhett and Cece, I think it could've been developed a lot more. Stockholm syndrome isn't a trigger for me but there was no introduction to how they met (except from little hints here and there), no build up, there was just a big time jump where Cece suddenly loves Rhett, she sometimes hates him, sometimes believes he's not as evil as people think but also wants to be with 2 other people .
The plot got more interesting at around 40% but it was still frustrating because the FMC never seems to get the answers she wants or needs, everyone is constantly hiding something from her.
This book had everything a reader like me could ask for. Vampires, shifters/lycan, faeries/fae, witches, demons. The premise of this book was amazing. Cece had always been manipulated and used for her potential power. Her story and life upbringing was so sad. The one thing I fell in love with so fast and so quick was her friendship with axel the lycan prince. Their bond their relationship was what kept me hooked! Rhett was the king of the south who used cece in more ways than one. My god I just ugh!! He is so ruthless and power hungry to take over the north at any means, he just rubbed me the wrong way the entire time. Now when I met Kane dear lord that man is hot. This book being so plot driven still had so many steamy scenes. Quite a few actually! But there was a lot of tease factors implied from one that just had me waiting patiently for it to happen. There was betrayal, there was sacrifice for happiness, there was so much more. Absolutely everything about this book had me hooked! The way it ended “gasp, followed by my literal scream” Wow just wow! I really can’t wait to read more on this story.
So I wanted to love this book, and eventually sort of did but it was very hard to get into at first. Make sure you read the trigger warnings.
Cece is a young woman held captive (somewhat by choice) by a vampire king because of her rare and mysterious power. I wanted to like her but through most of the story felt that she was just along for the ride; being manipulated by everyone around her. The relationships took a while for me to understand; the FMC and the southern King I still find questionable at best but that is where the slight Stockholm Syndrome vibes came from for me, at no point did I feel like he cared for her at all. The longer scenes are between characters I favor but at first the rapid POV switching made it very hard for me to get into the book. I feel like a little more backstory for some elements like the relationships and such would have helped me get into the book more as I felt like I was missing something for quite a while.
Long story short if you like stories with vampires, fairies, Lycans, betrayal, multiple men fighting over one woman for various reasons, and a story that will leave you wanting to read more; this is for you.
The book was okay for me. There were exciting elements I enjoyed, like enemies to lovers, multiple love interests, one bed, one horse, vampire blood sharing, good lore, strong FMC, etc. Its a coming-of-age sort of story, where the FMC is growing and trying to learn more about what makes her special and the huntress. We get multi-POV, which helps us better understand the motivations of the villains and the heroes. There’s grooming/Stockholm Syndrome and seeing how that molds people and the way they interact with each other and make decisions, which was heartbreaking.
What was frustrating was that everyone seemed to have something to hide from the FMC and she rarely got any answers unless she stumbled upon them herself. The book was super long and in the end I was left unhappy. I just ended up feeling sorry for the FMC. She couldn’t catch a break or have more than a moment or two of happiness without her world going up in flames.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The author did such a good job at setting the scene and making her book hooking. I liked the mix royalty, vampires, witches etc. And that ending was a great way to intrigue the reader for a future book? The reason I rate it lower is because I did not like the FMC. She is so powerful and I love her confidence but as soon as it comes to a king, she becomes a total different person who has no respect for herself. I felt as if it was like love island meets the vampire diaries in a weird way haha. Like she somehow fell in love with 3 people and that’s not questioned. She just goes from one to another like it’s nothing. Come on girl, have more respect for yourself. Be the strong huntress you are, you don’t need no man unless you genuinely love him.
Thank you very much to the author for sending me an ARC copy of this book. I am very grateful for the chance to read this book. I hope others enjoy it as much as I did, or even more!

"Till our last breath." That quote will stick with you till the end. I loved everything about this book. I was invested by page 24. In the beginning we meet Cece who has been seized by King Rhett (South king)since 10 and used and trained for huntress. She can kill anyone and anything. Within one of her hunts she captures the lykan prince Axel. He becomes her protector. They have the sweetest bond. On the other side we have Kane (North King.) Things are further complicated because she has feelings for all 3 men. To make matters more intriguing CeCe has a special kind of blood the vampires desire. She is to be kept alive till her birthday. From there a significant change is to occur. She has one intense birthday! Filled with an ardent desire for a certain blood craved, Cece must find the occupant or she will forever stay hungry. Packed with high energy down to the epic ending this book will have you addicted and begging for more.
The King's Huntress offers a rich and imaginative world, featuring a diverse range of supernatural creatures such as vampires, werewolves, and even the Devil. Throughout the book, Cece, Axel, Rhett, and Kane are at the center of a world of forbidden love, secrets, and lies. The author skillfully weaves romance, drama, and action together, keeping the reader entertained to the end. While the writing is wonderful and the plot is original, the multiple POVs and the overwhelming number of male characters who fall for Cece, the female main character, felt rather repetitive and disrupted the flow of the story. As certain plot points felt underdeveloped, it would have been beneficial to provide more details about the characters' backstories. For fans of vampires, werewolves, and fairies, The King's Huntress is an enjoyable read. Be prepared to buy the next book after this one ends on a cliffhanger.
5 ⭐️ 3 🌶️ *check the trigger warnings because there were a few.* Wow! This book was a great and left me wanting to know more. I liked that it was short chapters which made it feel like a fast read. It was slower in the beginning setting everything up but it sped up quickly. Another thing I liked was older characters with the FMC being 24 going on 25. There is multi pov but I didn’t find it confusing. Cece is the FMC and this is a journey about finding out what she is going to become. There seems to be a lot of Easter eggs or I’m hoping at least. (I have flagged a bunch of things and I hope to see it come true). I loved the multiple love interests all had different motives and she had reasons to love each one. (Ultimately it better be Axel or I will riot LOL). I’m excited to read book 2 and see what comes of how book 1 ended because that ending made me throw my book.
80% DNF WTH..first book I DNF in years. Idk why this is rated so well? The flow was choppy with little to no depth? Rhett killed her parents, took her captive, degrades her, threatens her with empty promises and she’s like “okay!” I felt nothing for these characters and that is so sad bc this book definitely had potential. this was a very rushed book and the plots made no sense to me?? Rhett spent over a decade with Cece, training her, having sex with her, ENGAGED to her… all to push her off the balcony right before her birthday bc he was what, jealous?!?! everyone betrays her and she’s again “okay!” Does this girl have no feelings that don’t disappear by the next chapter. This girl also can’t pick a man, she wants her cake and eat it too like whatttt. This was so so so disappointing sorry people

Cece us the huntress, a mythical, deadly creature. But she's also just a girl who wants to be loved, to be wanted, for who she is, not what she is. Cece needs to decide if she will stay with Rhett, Kane, or choose someone else altogether. Maybe a familiar Lycan Prince?
Through blood and destruction, Cece makes her way through some major changes and finds herself betrayed over and over again by those she had hoped to trust.
I liked this one quite a bit, but there were some errors that editing could help with. Some of the language shifted in ways that made it clunky, but overall, a really well done story.
"The King's Huntress" is the story of Cece, a human girl dubbed "the Huntress." But who is she really, and what will she do in the brewing war?
I really enjoyed the multiple POV's. Fierce, stubborn Cece could be hard to understand at times, so being in her head was nice. Axel and Kane were my favorites, while Rhett is the one you love to hate. Being with all these characters truly made for an emotional rollercoaster. I also enjoyed the world building, especially all the different creatures and magic. Without giving anything away, the book ends on a massive cliffhanger, and I can't wait to see what happens next.
First and foremost I would love to thank the author of this amazing book for being a beautiful person to gift me this book. FYI the answer is no she didn’t asked for me to place review etc for gifting me this book this review is based on my own opinion and my own willingness to shared how I enjoyed it. Now am not giving no spoilers but this book has everything from Vampires to Werewolves & so much supernatural…I love when an author writes a book that will blow my mind and expectations away that makes me want more. So am here sadly waiting for book two and I can’t wait for such book to become a reality!!
I absolutely loved this book and couldn’t read it quick enough. I adore Cece and really enjoyed her journey through the dark, the unlimited betrayal from those close to her and learning of her destiny.
I thought the characters were really well developed, and even the ‘bad guys’ had so many different qualities you couldn’t help but start to like them.
There are so many twists and turns, I was dying to find out how each chapter changed the story.
Also a perfect amount of spice! Kane - yes pleaseeeee.
I cannot wait for the rest of the series to be released!
This is a fantasy lovers dream! This book contains contains everything all in one, vampires, lycans, faeries, a devil, a huntress who refuses to give up, multiple love interests, multiple povs, blood mates, a link, and a kind of telepathy. If that's not enough it has brothers who are enemies, a prince who's a slave, spice, a huntress who has multiple bloodlines, one bed, pick me, a massacre, and touch her and die. This book leaves you with unanswered questions and and an ending you'll never see coming!
I loved Cece and how strong she was but sadly not with her partners. She was a real people pleaser which of course didn't end well for her. Love her friendship with Axel and I secretly hope they end up together 🤫 and Kane I liked at the beginning but hated by the end. Rhett always was a bad dude who just pretty much used Cece.
The world was unique too and I love how one brother chooses to live in darkness with human slaves while the other the sun and humans live among the vampires, lycans, etc. The ending left me wanting to read the next book ASAP.
I was hooked from the first chapter. The book follows 24 year old Cece the Huntress, it has multiple point of views which I like. The book kept me wondering the whole time. You don’t know who to trust. It is a fast paced story which I like, there was no chapters that were wasted. There are vampires, wolves, and the devil/demon. The ending was so good! defiantly a good fantasy book to read, I can’t wait for the next one!
I received this as an advance reader copy for free in return for giving an honest review.
This has the ground worker being a pretty epic fantasy. It's got everything I love witches, vampires, and werewolves. It's got the complexity that comes with multiple kingdoms and a war-torn era. Two brothers fighting a bloody battle with a huntress wedged in between. I didn't want this book to end and boy did it leave on a cliffhanger.. I can't wait for book two cuz I need to know what happens next!!
If you like vampires, lycan, and all things supernatural, this is the book for you. In a time of war between the North and the South, Cece is like no other in the world, yet no one either knows or will tell her what she is. She has grown into the fiercest warrior known as the huntress, with vampire lovers and lycan best friends. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series
The Kings Huntress is an excellent book. If you like vampires and werewolves, this book's for you!
Cece is human and the King's Huntress. She is about to turn 25. She will then become immortal and marry the King of the South. She is guarded by her best friend Axel, a Lycan Prince. As we all know, nothing is set in stone.
This book is fast paced and full of intriguing characters. The pages just sped by.
This plot hooked me from The beginnings! I felt immersed in the story from early on. I do wish there was some deeper character development for the main characters whom the story is told from their point of view. While a little confusing at times when jumping from perspective to perspective, I enjoyed the fast paced plot and loved the world building. I look forward to reading the second book in the series!
Completely not what I expected going into this and I'm so glad because it was even better! What I most appreciate was the unpredictability of the story line and the almost but not quite "why choose" aspect. A multi-pov, fast-paced PNR with good world-building, unexpected twists and turns, action, mystery, political intrigue, "blood-mates", good character dynamics and a bit of steamy spice to keep you turning pages! Can't wait to read book two!
Absolutely amazing!!! Loved the characters , vampires, witches, lycans faeries, demons!!! The details are well written, in depth. I could put hure myself there. I went thru emotions just like them. A great fantasy escape. I can’t wait to read book 2!!!! It has you wanting to read more. Romance, spicey, fantasy Has me hooked. Off to read book 2! 💖
This is a page turner that kept me engrossed throughout this suspenseful read. Filled with fantasy, suffering, romance and betrayal! The author captures the complex and evolving personalities of each character brilliantly. If you love ACOTAR you will enjoy this series! Can’t wait to read the second book and see what’s next since this first book leaves you wanting more answers…
