A born and raised Maritimer, Sydney Somers fell in love with writing when she finished her first story, Jenny and the Glowing Green Mittens. After attempting her first book in high school, she set writing aside to focus on school. While getting her degrees in psychology and education, Sydney tried her hand at journalism between part time jobs before finally returning to her love of writing.

Twenty-five novels and novellas later, Sydney is thrilled to spend her days slaying demons, running with shape-shifter packs and making the people in her head fall wildly in love. When she’s not writing or curled up with a good book, Sydney can be found chasing after her herd of kids, talking her way into a gourmet meal, exterminating rogue dust bunnies or joking about the pending zombie apocalypse. She loves hearing from readers and invites them to contact her anytime.

Say You're mine is the in The Spellbound Series by Sydney Somers. It's a paranormal romance that fits well into Contemporary with just a few witchy elements.

As soon as you start the story you can feel the sparks that fly between Reece and Violet. Reece is a detective with the police force and Violet works with her family running a Private Investigator business. They have crossed paths for a while now and both are attracted to one another but due to circumstances have never acted on their feelings.
Through a twisted turn of events Violet and Reece end up having to pretend to be in a relationship and they both realize along the way that the pretending isn't hard and what they have may be indeed very special. But how will Reece react to Violet being a witch?

This book is fun and has quite a few twists and turns and really kept me reading. I finished it really quickly but it never felt rushed. I can't wait to continue the rest of the series as Violet's family sounds super interesting and fun!

Cute, quick read about a detective and a private investigator, who also happens to be a witch. Detective Reece Preston and Violet Calder cross paths while she's investigating a possible dog-napping. Reece is next door and covers for her sudden appearance by saying she's his girlfriend. He's undercover going after drug dealers and Violet's special skills come in handy when they get into some dangerous situations. Reece is not sure what to make of it, but he knows he is very attracted to Violet. Romance, intrigue, and a nice HEA.

Do you believe in magic

This book is short and sweet and oh so delicious! The author made it fun while still keeping it dangerous and high intensity. I enjoyed the characters, especially the nosey big brothers, and the partner who was willing to embrace her girly side in the effort to help true love. The author did a fantastic job of keeping me intrigued, and the unexpected twists and turns came just at the right time adding to the overall storyline. This is the perfect book for the beach or weekend, and is a definite don’t miss. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Say You're Mine by Sydney Somers - Intigue and a twist for fairy tales - if you like the undercover detectives mysteries, magic and a society romance this is the one for you.

The characters Violet is a strong independent female with a surprise Magic! The irritation in here side that seems to drive her over protective brother's crazy is detective Reece. Violet unfortunately ends up stumbling literally into a under cover operation. I just got to say what I like about the book is the over protective brother, humor and the action adventure. I got to say I didn't foresee all the twist and turns I loved it. Fantasy "magic" I wouldn't normally be my first choice to turn to but I have to say if you want to try a fantasy book Syndny Somers does an awesome job. I definitely have to get the other books because you'll fall in love with The supporting cast brother and partner.

Different kind of story

This story was a little different that what I normally read but it was a good one. Violet works in her family private investigation business and is always meeting new people and detectives. One particular detective named Reece makes her have goosebumps and butterflies but she tries to avoid him.

Violet is off limits to Detective Reece, or so her brothers keep reminding him. While on a dangerous case, he runs into Violet while coming to her rescue after she falls. Reece has to think quick so his cover isn't blown and has to tell the thug he is meeting with that Violet is his girlfriend. While "pretending" the two have passionate chemistry.

A few strange things occur while Reece and Violet are captured by drug dealers that Reece can't explain and Violet hopes he doesn't ask to many questions about or she may have to reveal her family secret.

Read this story to find out what Violets family secret is and what happens if Reece were to find out.

This is my first book I've read by Sydney and I must say it will not be the last. If you like romance with a little magic this one is for you. This is the first installment in the series Spellbound. We first met Violet Calder in the private investigation office her family owns. Also in the office is Detective Reece Prescott. Who has one eye out for her brother and one eye on her. After a brief conversation with the hot detective and a late evening meeting with a client, fate throws Violet into one of Reece's cases.

What should have been just a quick look into a backyard ends up with Violet in the arms of the sexy cop. And a hot kiss no less. When Reece tells a suspected drug dealer that Violet is his girlfriend, the sexiness turns up a notch.

If you are a fan of paranormal romance this is for you. This is a great summer read with a witch who's afraid of people finding out what she is and a hot cop who isn't sure what to believe.

3.5 star Cute romance novella to kick off a series about a family of PI witches. In this one baby of the family Violet is caught up in (non witch) Detective Reece’s undercover meet with a drug dealer and ends up having to pose as his girlfriend. But that is ok cause both Vi & Reece have kind of a thing for each other though they are both denying it. An kiss a part of their cover sets the spark on fire and things soon get hot n heavy between the two. Vi is not supposed to let anyone outside the family know about her powers which is a problem because she needs them to get her and Reece out of trouble when Reece’s cover is blown. Throw in a couple of overprotective warlock brothers, a missing Pomeranian and a crazy od lady and you have a lot of fun. I liked both Vi & Reece and their chemistry was pretty explosive too. Looking forward to reading the next one which is about big brother Finn.

This first installment of a new series has a little bit of everything: cops, PIs, drug dealers, murders, dog-nappings … oh, and don’t forget the witch. Say You’re Mine is a fast placed cop romance that doesn't take itself too seriously.
PI Violet Calder accidentally stumbles into the middle of Detective Reece Prescott’s first meeting with a local drug lord while she is working on a routine case of her own. In order to get her away from the bad guys, he introduces her as his girlfriend. It’s not even much of a stretch. They’ve each been secretly attracted to the other for some time so maybe a little play acting wouldn’t be so bad.
Say You’re Mine is fast paced cop romance with a bit of humour, a bit of suspense and some really hot sex. Recently re-released with additional content, This is a great, light read for a weekend getaway.

Nice read..

This was a really cute story. The magic was fun and was always just in time and very, very confusing For Reece, since he had no idea how it happened but was beginning to suspect that had something to do with Violet.

They were a wonderful couple without a bit of angst and no misunderstandings and that’s always nice. It was marvelous.

There other players were good also: Sloan (Reece’s partner) was worried about him being happy. Leslie (Violet’s best friend) had some pretty funny lines. Finn and Dante (Violet’s brothers) were very protective of her. Tim and Nicholas (brothers) were the bad guys and Violet had a little bit of fun with them with her magic. And Mrs. Bourne was a strange little old lady, but her dog, Freddy, sounded sweet.

There was some really explicit sex in this book so if you’re not looking for that YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Violet and her family have a knack of being in the wrong place at the right time. And like it's happened before somehow she did it again.
Reece is a detective and he knows that he has to stay away from Violet because her brother will kill him. But when she falls into his lap well he has to act fast.
This was a fast pace read. It pulled in. The family secret played a big part in this book. Sometimes in some books, it's mentioned as an afterthought but in this book, part of the story.

Oh the chemistry between Violet and Reece was a whole lot of fun! From start to finish their foreplay, whether verbal or physical, was smoking. There were a lot of fun scenes for this story. And Violet being the witch and her self confidence had me smirking in several places. She was a fun character. Then there is Reece, smoking hot Reece. What a man to have nearby. I enjoyed their interactions as well as the secondary story. I am glad it was not too intense. Finn and Dante are interesting characters and I cannot wait to get their stories.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the author.

A short fun romp of a story that has witch Violet Calder falling into an undercover operation while out looking for a stolen pet. Her encounter with Reece, the undercover cop, leads to more undercover work that is much more pleasurable than the one she becomes entangled in by being in the wrong place at the wrong time. A bit of magic to solve a few dicey situations and magic between the sheets then magic as a potential disrupter of love all go together to make this a delightful read written by Sydney Somers.

Well, it's very short, and fairly simple. Once they get to the end, it's just DONE. Normally, this kind of thing would have me switching off, but I'm still interested in the series. I really liked the excerpt from bk2, and the GR blurb said it was on sale for $2.99, which I would be happy to pay to read it (I am a cheapskate with very firm ideas on $/product, so to be honest, I wouldn't pay more then that)... Problem is, the series isn't on iBooks. Looks like the authors just put the first of a couple of her series on, but not bothered uploading the rest. That's annoying.

What a fun book! The only thing I didn't like was the fact it was too short! I wanted to read more of Reece and Violet. I could get used to a whole series of them working together, lol. For a short book everything was perfect. The characters were great together and I loved their banter. The story line was nice and flowed together well. This is the first book by this author and I look forward to reading more by her. Highly recommend.

I loved this quick sexy paranormal read.

Reece is a sexy detective who always seems yo butt heads with the Calder family. Violet is an awesome heroine who I could definitely imagine being besties with. The sexual tension between Reece and Violet is crazy, even when it seems they want to strangle each other. The suspense in this book was fantastic, and I never would've imagined the shocking twist this book took towards the end. I would definitely recommend one clicking this!!

I so enjoyed this one. Reece is just yummy and alpha. Violet is a witch and she needs to keep her family's secret, but the man she has been crushing on and trying to avoid is going to get a lot more cozy. I enjoyed the quirks of the characters and how everything flowed so well. Can't wait to check out more on the Cadler family.

I really liked this one. It has got a hot detective and a beautiful witch, so I was fast to buy. The only complaint is that the story seemed so short. I was just getting into it and expecting some more and.. The end.

Fortunately, there are more stories in this series. But I still wished for some extra pages!
The premise is so great and I wished there was more info on Violet's powers.

A funny and steamy romance with some light suspense thrown in. This is the start to what looks like a good series based on a family of witches. I look forward to reading the next book about Violet's brother Finn.

Say You're Mine by Sydney Somers is a well written book. I enjoyed the characters and humor. This book has a bit of action and a bit of heat. Say You're Mine is a short read, perfect for those with limited time for reading. This book is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

Too short

Loved the story but it was too short. I thought the story could have been developed more. I loved the characters. I hope. I hear more about them in the next books in the series.

Cute book

A misspelling about half way through, but it actually made me laugh when I saw it. The book itself was great, with a lot of humor and love wrote into it. This poor detective didn't know whether to get his eyes checked or bed the woman. Good story.
