FYI-- possible spoilers

This book was a "heavy one" for my 5 yo. It involves an injured dinosaur, and the book deals with death. One might want to be prepared to discuss such things with your child while reading the book.

Also-- 2 words: Dino puke.......generously distributed throughout the book.

For the record, my son remembers almost every detail of this book.

When the boys come to dinosaur world again, they meet a group of Apatosaurus. But they are being attacked, and when the oldest Apatosaurus defends the little one, he gets badly wounded. At the end he ends up dying. That is very sad.

Even though that Apatosaurus dies, I still really like this book. It is nice.

Warning-if you're not ready to talk to your kids about death this one will be a bit much. The harsh reality of meat-eaters is brought out more than in the previous books on the series. My son is strangely stoic about death when it comes to dinosaurs so he handled it pretty well.
