Addison
Image is everything. I’ve been taught this since I was eight. Don’t let people see your weakness, put on a brave face and suck up your feelings.
It’s how I’ve lived my life. How I went from homeless to managing one of the biggest bands in the world and kept them at the top for all these years.
But things are changing. I got a promotion. I no longer manage the Cosmic Gods. I now run the entire Gods of Melody record label and my band is in the hands of someone else.
Stress, exhaustion, the fact I miss my life with the Gods… it’s all getting to me and my walls appear to be crumbling. I mean, I can’t stop thinking about one God in particular.
Maverick Hill has a huge heart, but I always thought he’s a player of the worst kind.
Turns out, I was wrong. He is way more than I imagined. In fact, I think he might be the one.
The problem is, it’s too late to tell him. He’s fallen out of our Cosmic orbit and landed somewhere we can’t find him.
Little does he know the lengths I will go to in order to tell him how I feel. I will blow up the world for the chance at forever with him.

Maverick
The world expects me to be a certain way. And I hate to disappoint so I play my part well.
But I want more. I want the Happy Ever After. I want to find the one.
Not that anyone believes me.
No, I bared my heart and exposed my soul, but they all threw it back in my face.
I think what hurts the most is she didn’t believe me.
Addison Stone crept into my heart when I wasn’t looking. She let down her defenses and showed me who she really is.
I fell hard, and I gave her everything.
But a single conversation blows everything up and my heart is destroyed in the crossfire.
So, I run. I run so far that I didn’t think anyone would ever find me.
But I should have known that Addison Stone would cross time and space to get what she wants and from the look of it, what she wants is me.
The problem is the Universe appears to have other plans and right now my love is sinking into a watery grave and I don’t think my Cosmic wishes are strong enough to change the outcome of this story.

(*I was given an ARC copy of False God and this is my honest review*)

False God is the fourth book in the Gods of Melody series and follows Addison, a total ice queen and the manager of the band and Maverick, the playboy of the band.

After losing her father at a young age, Addison cut ties with her horrid mother and took on the world alone. She went from being homeless and living in her car to becoming a very successfull manager for one of the biggest bands in the world. Her past traumas has made her become a cold, ruthless ice queen that allows no one to see her weaknesses or her feelings. When she receives a promotion and becomes the manager for not only the band, but for the entire Cosmic Gods record label, the stress and exhaustion starts to take a toll on her. Addison is spending more time away from the band and realizes that she's missing the family that she had found within them, but also is missing Maverick in particular and finds herself developing feelings for him.

For years people have come to see Maverick as the playboy of the band, a major player who seemingly has a different woman (or women) in his bed every night. Maverick has done what needed to be done to keep up his playboy persona while also hiding a secret that no one knows at all. Deep down though, Maverick is having thoughts of settling down with one woman and finding his "Happily ever after". Unbeknownst to Addison, Maverick is starting to realize that he has feelings for her as well.

There is sooooo much more that I want to write in this review and it's right at the tips of my fingers...But I don't want to give away any spoilers and ruin the book for anyone who hasn't read it yet. However, I will say this, I have read thousands of books in my lifetime and I am not an emotional person at all, but this book brought out all of the feels and made me ugly cry several times (in a good way). This really was a beautiful love story and I was so captivated by it completely. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen, there was a twist or turn in the story and trust me, there were a few. I was caught by surprise so many times and it kept me turning page after page. The book was romantic and the spice was on point! I truly enjoyed this book, the twists and turns, the spice, the love, everything was just *chefs kiss! I would 10/10 recommend this to anyone that enjoys a good love story with their smut. It's definitely a book that I see myself reading again in the future.

False God by Esme Taylor is a Rock Star, reverse age gap, friends to lovers story. This is book 4 in the Gods of Melody series. This book has a HEA, no cliffhanger and multiple POV.

Addison Stone was the manager for the Cosmic Gods and is now in charge of the Gods of Melody record label. Addison is a kickass, take charge woman who has had a rough childhood. She keeps everyone at a distance to protect her heart, but she’s lonely and she believes the one person who tempts her is a friend and known as a player.

Maverick Hill is the bass player for the Cosmic Gods and everyone believes he is a player and always up for a good time. Over the years he has played the part well. He wants what all the other members of his band has, a HEA, when he lets his heart show and in the process it gets shattered.

You do not need to read the other books to enjoy this one, the author gives you the perfect amount of background information on the previous storyline and characters, but if you really want to get the most out of the story please read the previous books because they are fantastic.

I highly recommend this book and this author for anyone looking for a positively amazing journey that will have you wishing for more. It was an angsty, emotional, beautiful story. There are many twists and turns to this story and the writing is exceptional.

The last in what has been a fabulous series.
We have come to Maverick's story. The playboy of the group always got a different woman in his bed, not settling for one anytime soon.
Addison, the band's hard as nails manager who is going to run the new label the boy's have started. She will knock it out of the park, won't she?
The story take us through the twists and turns of these two people who are not all they seem, who see each other as others don't. Two broken souls whose past is being hidden behind a false veneer.
Can they accept each others demons and together slay them to find their HEA. Life seems to think not.
This book is an amazing fullstop to the series, If you haven't already, go back and start at the beginning. The books don't absolutely have to be read in order. Esme has been so clever the way the stories weave in and out of each other but it is probably better if you do.
If you decide to start with just this book you really won't regret it.

Fantastic Conclusion to an Amazing Series!!!

I am soooo very sad that the God of Melody Series is complete! I loved all of the books and the stories held inside their pages. The story of Addison and Mav just blew the series out of this world!

Addison is the backbone of the band and over the years, she has become like family. Mav was known as the playboy of the group. What we learn through their stories is that this was their public facade that they became so good at, it even fooled their families and each other.

This book had me laughing out loud, sobbing out loud and looking around to make sure people weren’t reading over my shoulder. The relationship between Addie and Mav was deep, so very deep with chemistry through the rough!! I see what looks like a new band is around the corner. I hope they are interconnected to the Gods as I don’t want to stop hearing about these folks!!

This author writes amazing stories and will always be a one click author for me!!!

This is the final book in the Gods of Melody and it couldn’t have ended better with Mav’s book. Addie has now given up as manager to run the whole record label and although her and Mav have been friends for years something else is developing. Although Addie is reluctant to be anything but friends due to Mav’s reputation things start to progress slowly and when something happens to rock the boat and no one believes Mav my heart broke for him. What develops after I couldn’t get my head around after all Mav is known for is reputation as a player and the truth that comes out made me love him even more .

I was told the Cosmic Gods series was good and was offered to try this one out and see what I was missing. I read this book as a standalone.

I was instantly drawn in even though I don't know past events or back story from previous books. Addison is a kick ass lady who won't take any crap but is hidden behind icy walls due to a sad childhood. Mav is a gorgeous member of the Cosmic Gods and is known as the playboy of the band. He has an image to live up to which he does very well.

I was lulled into the love story where I dreamily followed and enjoyed every soft word and all the fun steamy moments. Then the story changes and I'm hanging on to the edge of my seat! I was totally riveted as I'd fallen in love with the characters and wanted them to be together forever! A great first read for me from Esme Taylor

Age gap
Friends to lovers
Emotional
HEA
Dual POV

False God is the final book in the Gods of Melody Series. Following Maverick the playboy of the band and Addison Stone hard edged record label manager.

Maverick and Addisons chemistry drew me in, their was steamy scenes but also a great love story building only to have some serious twists get thrown in.

I didn’t realize how lost in the story I was until the twist and i was lost to my emotions right along side the characters!

What wonderful not only love that was being built for these two characters in the story but for the entire group that has made up the series!

I received an ARC copy of this book and am leaving an honest review.

Another brilliant book by Esme Taylor. I have enjoyed reading all of her books so far and this one is no exception. The book is well written and I liked how both Mav and Addi hid their true character beneath the mask that they present to the world. Without wishing to spoil the story line, I enjoyed the twist in the plot late on in the book. I also liked the way characters from the previous series appeared in the epilogue. I can't wait to read what Esme writes next!

I actually have no words. Simply put it's a beautiful love story. Full of revelations, happiness and heartache. And of course a bit of pain.
What a ride this was. Its a real page-turner. Being back with this family was so good. I just love them all. And this series just got better and better.
When the realisation hit 😭. The few little twists.... I actually gasped out loud! And cried. Boy did I cry.
Another amazing book Esme.
I will never tire of your words.

The final instalment of The Cosmic God's, God's of Melody series, and in my opinion at least, Esme Raylor has saved the best to last with False God.

Maverick, the womaniser of the band is just not what he appears to be, so it's no surprise that no one, including Addi, believes him when it really matters.

Having worked so hard to persuade Addison to take a chance on him, when his family doesn't believe the truth, he runs. And that us when disaster strikes.

A great read, as are the previous books in the God's of Melody series

Maverick has always been who everyone wanted him to be but he had a secret. Addison had a hard life and she worked so hard for what she had now but everything was an act the real her was hidden. Will the friendship they both have lead to a lot more or will the pasts come back to ruin them.
So many what if in this book a great end to a fantastic series

Finally ! I have been waiting for Maverick and Addison's story for a while and it's ... nothing like I imagined 😂.
Of course, like in the other books of that series there's a lot of drama, angst and very steamy scenes but the twists and turns to get those two damaged souls have their HEA are unexpected and the author gives us the perfect ending to that series.

So much going on in this story and I was so glad to finally have Addi and Mavs story. This is full of emotion as two people battle with their own demons about love, worth and perception of themselves. A few interesting twists and turns as it heads towards the end of the book. Absolutely entertaining, loved it!

This series gets better and better!!!
Mav is a bad boy, there’s no denying it. Addison manages the band but then goes on to running the label for the band when they get that set up.
But there’s a lot we don’t know about Mav, it’s a first for me and all the readers. When did the sparks fly between them and can they make it without any drama? I know I’ve said it probably for every book, but Maverick is my favourite. He isn’t what you think he is.

What an absolutely amazing way to end the series! Maverick, my personal favourite of the band, was the notorious playboy and Addison their tough band manager had such amazing chemistry in the prior three books, I was waiting for this moment where the two of them would shine! I was in awe of how well Esme wrapped up the final story and brought to life Maverick and Addison's love.

This book is easily my favourite of the series and definitely one I'll be reading over and over again!

Thank you for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

A fitting end to an incredible series.

What a rollercoaster finish this book was to the series.

Mav was nothing like the persona he showed to the world, instead he was the complete opposite.

Addi was the ice queen and we got to find out why she was so hidden away.

Just when life was looking good, wam, fate intervened and threw a cosmic spanner in the works.

I adored Mav’s and Addi’s relationship and their HEA.

It was way too long. I didn't like the break-up story.

I'm a bit obsessed with Mav and Addi. This was my first book by Esme Taylor and it blew me away! It's one of those books that I still think about regularly almost a year after first reading it and it's high up on my (very short) list of books I intend to reread.

**Please note that my shelves can contain spoilers - don't check the shelves/tags for this book if you don't want a spoiler!**

False God is an emotional reverse age gap between Mav, the playboy bassist with the Cosmic Gods who has a big secret, and Addi, who has been their long-time manager and is now moving on to run their record label. These two have so much love and care between them already as they have been part of the same rockstar 'family' for years and been through the wringer together, but when circumstances change, they begin to look at each other differently and have an incredible connection.

This isn't an easy ride, I was on the edge of my seat, I definitely shed a tear or two, and at points, I seriously questioned whether this pair would be able to get their HEA. But I was rooting for them all the way.
