For the cats and people we love, we move mountains to save or extend their lives and make ailments retreat. I learned energy healing when our Spirit revealed stomach cancer this January. I knew the basics when our Marigold’s kidney disease peaked in May. Our strong girl delayed it for 1 ½ year and lived her best life. We could not tell Spirit had cancer, who was in optimal shape for 3 glorious years. Any fresh sadness must be prevented, thus I continue natural healing studies for our other cats and ourselves. Spirit had gone to Heaven from home when Ellen Meredith’s book arrived but it served Marigold very well. I dedicate every memory of it to these treasured children.

When I urge that everyone would glean value from this book, I mean it. Why labour under discomfort, if something can be done and all we need is to know how? The introduction itself is moving. We are not machines, repaired by cutting or adding chemicals to physical parts. We function via energy. Unwellness arises from a block or stagnation therein. Ailments are status reports, like warning codes in vehicles. You do not operate on a warning system. You read what symptoms are indicating. The positive realization is that troubles are solely thought incurable, from a physical standpoint!

There are multitudinous energy balancing methods we can personalize, to see for ourselves! The Chinese mapped organs into “meridian centers”. Also millennia ago, Indians identified energy flows called “chakras”. Donna Eden, who sees energy, crafted easy ways to access it in her groundbreaking 1998 book. Modern healers draw from the “Eden method”. Ellen added hers in her 2020 release: “The Language Your Body Speaks: Self-Healing With Energy Medicine”. The understanding gained from education on this subject, reduces the feeling of being helpless.

Ellen Meredith’s newest book, The Language Your Body Speaks, is like a breath of fresh air! For those people curious to know more about how your body’s energy systems work, but not wanting to get bogged down in techniques taught in a class, this is the book for you!!
The book is FUN! It takes you on a journey to playfully and curiously explore what your body is really trying to express to you, and how you might be able to give it exactly what it needs in the moment!
I love the “Play With It” sections of the chapters, inviting the reader to change focus from the perceived “problem” to tuning into your “Wiser Self” and truly listening to what your body is trying to tell you. “Illness is not just a signal that something is wrong. It also signals that something right is missing.” Exploring and tuning in to find that “something right” is what this book is all about.

Finally a manual for operating this body, mind, spirit complex! I can’t say enough good things about this author’s work and this book. I originally purchased a couple of the author’s dvd classes years ago and they were in a “for later” box for a long while. I waited until I was in deep doodoo to actually study them (nothing like necessity for motivation). The classes helped pull me out of a deep hole I had dug and I have been a big fan ever since. “The Language Your Body Speaks” gives energy medicine a new dimension by adding the power of mind and spirit through imagination and creativity. It is a synopsis of the author’s life work rolled into one book. People familiar with her work will appreciate how it has been pulled together into one place with some great new material as well. Those unfamiliar will find the information and concepts easy to understand and follow. There are 32 officially named exercises and many more suggestions throughout the book that are also noteworthy. Two of my favorites are the porcupine reset and the smart filter exercises. I’d love to see some accompanying instructional videos of the exercises as a book bonus like some authors are offering these days (hint hint). I will mention the author did a lovely series of youtube videos recently to help with immunity during the great 2020 shutdown. Here is a link to the first one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKbZr...

The book is a practical, no-nonsense, down to earth, and sprinkled with humor treasure. It is coming at a really good time while we are in a global shutdown. A shutdown that is unnerving, like a huge disturbance tearing at the fabric of our understanding. In this ripped open state, we need to and are possibly more open to learn new ways of living and being. Like learning to see the forest for the trees or to see what has always been right in front of us but hidden until now. The book encourages us to learn by immersing ourselves like babies do when discovering things for the first time.

The book sifts things down to the basics. Einstein said “The definition of genius is taking the complex and making it simple.” The book does that well. While the concepts and tools presented may seem simple, don’t be fooled! They are rich with meaning and very powerful. The book provides the foundation, the building blocks, to help build and maintain health in an overly allopathic-centered world that has made health far too complicated to the point of ridiculousness, to the point health care is no longer comprehensible. I really appreciate the instruction for doing the exercises with intention which is broken down into three aspects – assess, rebalance, and invoke. I don’t know why this little gem isn’t in the very first chapter though (it is in chapter 10). Using these three aspects of intention recognizes our uniqueness and that we are our own best experts. It enables the customization of any exercise to what we need at that given moment. I also appreciate the practice tips at the end of each chapter as synopses, points of reference, and reminders.

The author offers a new frame of reference by identifying three aspects of the self -- the Earth Elemental Self, the Talking Self, and the Wiser Self. It feels more intuitive and common sense than the often confusing, ill-defined and misunderstood traditional terms such as ego, mind, conscious, subconscious, etc. She teaches us how to decode what the three selves are trying to tell us. We run into problems when we don’t listen! I believe what she calls “spirit feeds” is a simplified version of what she calls “councils” in her first book “Listening In.” They are metaphors and useful for learning more about our nature. Some examples of spirit feeds are visionary, peacemaker, and awakener. Definitely check out her first book for more on that topic (or better yet, do a channeled reading consult with her).

This book deserves several readings as it is chock full of nuances and new perspectives, each time through will provide more insights and understandings. I so appreciate the author’s generosity to share her wisdom with us. If this book resonates with you, definitely look into the author’s other offerings (I highly recommend the “Storyline Track and Balance” dvd class, a lifesaver for me) and definitely get Donna Eden’s Energy Medicine book if you don’t have it already! The two books make a powerful duo. Thank you for reading and many blessings!

I was so excited to learn that Ellen Meredith was writing a book for everybody. I have taken her courses in my Energy Medicine training and have always been struck by the profound simplicity of her methods. Personally Ellen's Template Clearing technique changed my life.

This book is written so that anyone who is curious about their own healing capacity can benefit from Ellen's wisdom. I love that the techniques are presented not as "exercises" but as ideas to "play with." There is no wrong way to do any of this, as everyone's energies are unique. There is no pressure to master anything. There is only an invitation to get curious and play.

I invite you to read this book, get curious about yourself, and have a delightful time learning to communicate with your own energies.

The opening chapters of this book are excellent and I highly recommend reading them in order, from the beginning. This will provide a very refreshing perspective on health and healing, a quick course in dispelling doom and gloom, and activating your own inner knowing.

I realized that I would treasure this book as a resource to delve into when I need specifics. And I have definitely done this, as I've navigated an early case of Covid and the ensuing year of long-haul symptoms. (PASC is the new term for those, I believe.) Ms. Meredith's concept of envisioning wellness instead of focusing on dis-ease has been extremely helpful, and the book is full of insights and exercises to help you do that. When I was feeling my worst, I found her approach to be a great, self-empowering comfort. Has it contributed to my slow improvements over the months? I believe it has.

The book shifted my attitudes about healing further in a direction they were already going (didn't think that could happen), and it's given me greater confidence in my ability to communicate with and determine the why, what, how, and where of bodily "communication." The Covid virus has stymied conventional medical researchers thus far, but using the author's approach, I found I was always a step or many ahead of what was publicly announced.

For instance, after reading the first parts of this book, I knew husband & I were having lingering effects of Covid as an explanation for our weird symptoms (the list is long & seems random), well before we read about this in the media or knew that others were experiencing the same. I credit the "listen to your body" approach for obtaining this insight, which helped us quell our panic and keep faith that symptoms would improve. And they have. We spared ourselves trips to baffled doctors who were, at the time, handing out all sorts of medications for other diseases in their avid attempts to help patients. We listened to our bodies, we learned, and we are still on the healing upswing.

I'm grateful to Ms. Meredith for putting her life-long knowledge out in print for others to benefit from. It's certainly been helpful to me!

WOW!! What a gem of a book! It is about “cultivating wellness” -- that phrase alone sold me. Whether you are new to the concept of your body’s energy language or already fluent, this is definitely a book you want in your library. You will reach for it time and time again.
I’ve read lots of books on energy work and this one is refreshingly different; it speaks to the individual. It is not a cookie cutter, one size fits all approach. Ellen provides guidelines that are eye opening and thought provoking, so you learn to recognize your body’s own individual language and quickly become conversant. The suggested techniques are clearly described and Ellen asks you to “play around with them” so you can customize for your needs.
The energy language your body speaks is a communication that you may feel, think, visualize or just plain know. This book is not about learning a new language, but instead builds on something you learned in your infant and toddler years. This book reminds you, refreshes your memory, both encouraging and mentoring you to become fluent again. For those wishing to explore the subject or skeptics who are dipping their toe in for the first time, the beginning chapters discuss concepts in a down to earth, practical manner. If experienced, you will broaden your vocabulary and increase your ability to listen and communicate. Remaining chapters explain what energy conversations and dialogue might look like with plenty of examples, suggestions and techniques.
I found the following features to be very useful: practice and “play with it” tips, clear diagrams, page references to exercises throughout the book, common examples to which we all relate, and the reader friendly, conversational tone. You won’t be disappointed!

Ellen Meredith offers a path to individualized self-healing, suggesting simple, elegant practices as a playbook for returning to balance. This revelatory book moves beyond the realm of energy work as a set of rote exercises--initiating us into a world of deep internal communication and integration. Meredith is an apt guide, celebrating the inner wisdom we each possess and gently encouraging discovery of our own body/mind/spirit's needs. This kind of freewheeling, DIY approach to energy work is truly empowering. We can each reclaim our wellness as an ongoing loving dialog vs. a memorized routine (or mass-produced diet plans, workouts, supplements, products, etc.). A vastly life-changing and revolutionary book!

Excellent book! Want to know how to hear what your body is trying to tell you? What is this pain about? Why do I have this illness? How do I calm this anxiety? Chapter two is key, so you’ll want to read that more than once. Each chapter has useful exercises that bring the concepts off the page and into practice, and examples for guidance. This book is different in that it guides you to do what works for you, and not what worked for the author. And, it can be read by anyone, not just people who have studied some modality of energy healing. I whole heartily recommend this book.

I love this book! I’ve taken classes with Ellen, and I am an Advanced Practitioner in the Eden Energy Method, but I believe this book would be a complement to any healing modality and to healers (humans) of all levels and experience.

What I find most compelling about The Language Your Body Speaks is that the focus is on being in dialogue with our energies – by speaking AND listening (the one being SO much more developed in me than the other!) – bridging both left-brain and right-brain language experiences.

In writing that is clear and lively, Ellen helps us recognize the diverse ways our bodies try to get our attention through symptoms or discomforts so that we can use the language of energy to rebalance and support our own healing. With wisdom, humor and examples drawn from her own experiences and those of her clients, she helps us get the conversation going. Ellen offers suggestions and exercises for working with the language of energy, but always with the reminder that trusting our own intuition is critical. It is, after all, about our dialogue with our own energies!

One organizational element about this book that I deeply appreciate: whenever an exercise is mentioned more than once (or noted as helpful for a variety of “conversations”), its original page number is included so there’s no flipping back trying to remember where it was first introduced.
This book is a gem.

For anyone wanting to learn, or learn more, about how to speak the body’s language, it has so much to offer!

You will wake up to a whole new you, simultaneously expressing your human and divine nature. Why not learn how to live from a happier and healthier place for the rest of your life?

Ellen entices us to embark on an uplifting quest to reclaim our ability to heal ourselves. It explores how to listen, watch, hear, feel, and influence our energies. The world of energy is, and always has been, ours…and we can learn to “notice” all the ways energy speaks to us… and has always been speaking to us!

This book is a map to read your own and other people’s energies. It’s fun, curious, and easy to read… exciting, enticing, and joyful. It compels us to take a painless and satisfying journey to learn this skill: to become a communicative friend with your body, mind, and soul.

I love this book! I wish this book came out years ago when I first started my Energy Medicine healing quest. Ellen Meredith's book, "The Language Your Body Speaks: Self-Healing with Energy Medicine," is a must read for anyone who is interested in learning how to communicate with their body to understand what it needs. Now, more than ever, is the time to learn to heal yourself, and you can do that by listening to the guidance within your body through the energetic language it uses to converse with you. This simple yet profoundly effective book is extremely helpful in bringing awareness to your ability to connect with and, therefore, heal your body.

I really enjoyed this book, and recently had the pleasure of interviewing the author on my podcast "Find the Good News" with Brother Oran Parker. If you feel your energy is out of whack, or maybe you have some physical ailments, read this book!

This book is pseudo-science. I thought it would offer some backed up claims but it lost me in the first chapter. The author claims to have a gift in feeling energy. I don’t buy it.

This book seems to have been written for people who need it explained that pain is your body's way of letting you know there's a problem. DNF because it just gets more useless the further I read.

The Language Your Body Speaks is a profoundly meaningful and helpful support in feeling at home in your body, free of anxiety and mysterious pains, and ready to engage with life. Instead of the technical, "fix it" attitude of many healing modalities, Ellen Meredith's philosophy is to listen to what your body is telling you and let your intuition craft the perfect response for you, and she guides you in how to do that. After reading a couple chapters I was able to help myself calm anxiety, boost my energy, relieve tight muscles, tolerate more foods, and bring some pleasure into my stressful job as a caregiver. Ellen gives you a whole new vocabulary to understand what your body-psyche is saying and how to communicate in your true mother tongue--energy/soul--so that ailing body parts or emotional issues feel seen, heard, and understood, and are able to evolve to wellness. Plus it's just fun!
