TCONA is book two in The Andromeda's Account series.
L.B., you've done it again! The second instalment was so exquisitely detailed, just like The Bartered Soul, setting each scene so perfectly it was effortless to imagine myself amongst the characters and surroundings.
In book two, the character growth is truly stunning. You guys know I love FMCs owning their strength whilst also showing their vulnerability, and L.B. demonstrates this perfectly with Andromeda, our pretty priestess.
Lennox gives Andromeda the space to grow and ✨step into her power✨ whilst remaining fiercely protective behind the scenes, demonstrating those marshmallow morally grey MMC vibes flawlessly.
You can expect found family, delicious and exotic world building (where the heck can I buy beignets in the UK?!), action, plot twists, and beautiful romance.

Absolutely Beautifully written, and so immersive. The world building is just stunning.
This is book 2 and it is just as captivating as book 1.
The book carry’s on straight after book 1 with the lovable characters we were introduced to. Seeing the characters development through out the books and how the side characters just being their own piece of magic to the mix, just made this book even more incredible.
Loved meeting new characters and seeing how they helped out FMC grow.
With the help of Captain Lennox, Nerissas path is forged and it was a joy to see her character grow. See was head strong in AA1 and that doesn’t change in AA2.
The city of New Aphros gave me all the Northern Spain vibes, La Coruña especially.
This was like watching a chocolate bomb slowly melt in a hot mug of milk and then seeing the surprise of mini marshmallows appear. Delicious and full of surprises.

A wonderful continuation for Lennox and Andromeda's story. The writing is vivid and beautiful, and has a great world-building. It had a good balance between plot and character growth. We get to learn more of Billy and Nerrisa, which was fun. And you can clrealy see that they are meant for each other.
You will meet new secondary characters that you will love and meet some old ones too. I adored how book was not only focused towards romance aspect, but also female empowerment and bond. Well done 🖤
The City of New Aphros is a safe space for those who like to experiment, be free and adventurous. So of course your need of spice and lip biting will be met 😏🥵
However, I wanted to have more action, drama and overall pearl-clutching moments. I still very much enjoyed this book, but I was craving feelings like I experienced in the first book.

My friends! They're back! When I finished The Bartered Soul, I said it felt like I had to leave old friends after reading it. Andromeda and Lennox are so incredible and such strong characters. LB writes their story beautifully. We get to see more of Lennox's point of view in this book as well and I LOVED IT. We also meet a new cast of characters in New Aphros and some extremely strong ones at that. People who remind Andromeda of WHO she is and WHAT she can do. She's kept herself and her emotions hidden for far too long, and she finally has a place where she can properly grow.
LB writes so lyrically, and I love reading her prose. I feel a connection to Andromeda and I felt more of that in this book. Her need to feel as little of a burden as possible that she's neglected her own feelings and kept them so deep down that she can't be the priestess she has the potential to be. She meets Salome, a priestess set on getting her to LET IT OUT. And to remind Andi that she can have feelings, she can be angry or sad and that she is STRONG. And the more she lets this out, the more she can channel it into her power. And what power that is.
It was so nice to get back into this world, and after the ending I cannot wait to see what LB has these badass pirates and priestesses doing once they reach their next destination. I can't wait to see how it all unfolds!

The adventure continues in our favorite pirates' story! The second book of the Andromeda's Account series, The City of New Aphros, was no less amazing than the first 😍 I can't believe I've already finished it! 😭💔
In this sequel of The Bartered Soul, our beloved characters set sail towards the city of New Aphros, taking refuge there for the cold season. New characters are introduced along the way with, may I add, AMAZING character development! The story unfolds even further as secrets from the past resurface, throwing Andromeda in a swirling sea of questions and feelings of heartache 💔
It was a pure joy witnessing our
" Pretty Priestess " stepping into the light and letting her emotions take control, awakening a power she had no knowledge resided inside of her. She was the perfect combo of kindness and a force to be reckoned with! 😍🔥 the way she gained everyone's respect and loyalty was the epitome of beauty and strength ❤
Our dear and beloved Captain was as charming as ever! His love for Andromeda couldn't be bought with all the treasures of the oceans he sailed 🔥his devotion to her outgrew even the promise given to his crew 😭❤ That didn't make him any weaker, though! Everyone in the new city was terrified of him, and even though he wasn't as cruel as they thought him to be, he took pleasure in letting them believe that, to not cross paths with him 😏🔥
If you guys are interested in diving into this astonishing series, make sure to read the first book before jumping to this one. I simply can't WAIT for book three to arrive! Because that's where the real battle against that dreadful king begins 😍🔥 I'm already picturing him kneeling in defeat with Andromeda's powerful figure looming over him in all her glory, as she delivers her final blow ❤

**POTENTIAL SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT READ THE FIRST BOOK, THE BARTERED SOUL**
I finished this book last night and all I can say is holy sh*t! LB really knows how to get those emotions going. As the title states, Andromeda and Lennox have traveled to New Aphros and there is an array of new faces and characters to love. Some familiar ones as well. I adore Del. She definitely antagonized Andromeda, but her heart was in the right place. The behavior was not caddy or hurtful. I think it was Del's way of pushing Andromeda to try harder and see her true potential. While her methods are questionable lol she did it with good intentions.
Even through the stress and build-up of impending doom, there is this warmth and love that fills you while you read this book. The way the women came together, supported each other, and fought for each other was so touching. The women in this book are truly awe-inspiring. LB did such a great job eliciting emotions and truly making you feel like you are there and a part of it all. I grew so attached to the characters in this book and the world she has created.
Let's talk spice y'all! There is definitely more spice in this book and it is *fans self*. There is a particular scene in chapter 26 IYKYK. There is more storyline than spice, but the spice in this book is honestly *chefs kiss*. Andromeda and Lennox are truly made for each other and the love and trust they have only grows in this book.
If you have read the first book then you will obviously love the continuation of the story in this book. It's about more than just romantic love. There is a strong sense of female empowerment and female bonding in this book that I truly love.

The City of New Aphros: book 2 of

We pick up in book two right where we leave off in The Bartered Soul. It is yummy getting to see more of their growing love for one another no longer hiding it from each other. I am so thankful LB gave us that HEA when going into book two I wasn’t stressing/freaking out about when my favorite MCs were going to find each other like so many other books like to make us readers suffer 🤣.
We get to enter a new city, the New Aphros and the vibe I get is so similar to New Orleans (and I’ve never visited, but ever bit of the feel makes me imagine what I would see/feel/witness visit this bucket list city of mine) There are colors of all shades, a lazy easy back feel full of lively celebrations and a melting pot of many different walks of life!
We have our same found family together as well as new friends made. Del was such a spit fire, a hard shell to break but highly misunderstood. Erik still our ever present tall, bulky, silent Viking/Northern-man(🤤). Pike with his wisdom. Captain Lennox fiercely loving and protecting our She-Wolf Priestess…
The unfolding of their story abs connection furthers in this book and I AM HERE FOR IT!
I can’t wait to continue to watch our she-wolf continue to grow and further step into her destined role!
That Epilogue…. 🥹🥹 perfectly done just how my heart needed it!

LB has done it again. I’m still completely obsessed with this story and the characters. The plot building and story line in this second book got so good. If you love a thick plot with a side of steamy romance then read this series!! I was on my couch squealing over some of the slow burn and tearing up at other parts of the book. The set up for her third book was phenomenal, I’ll be trying to find something to get rid of this book hangover.
TCONA gives you pirates, found family, New Orleans vibes, chosen one, folklore, Captain Lennox (enough said), women empowerment, heartbreak, good spice and beautiful writing!

Hi, Delphine lives rent free in my mind, book boyfriend?? No no, we have book girlfriends now and she’s mine.
“I don’t love you, but I do want to taste you”. I DIED. A sarcastic, shadow wielding priestess?! Ruin me pls, thanks.
The underlying theme of a toxic church, violently forcing their beliefs on reluctant people?? Listen, if you have religious trauma, the undertones of the story will be screaming at you. I felt everything so deeply and it’s truly all because of LBs incredible writing style and her ability to make a fantasy villain simultaneously a creature that so many people can relate to.
Love this book so much, 10/10 my new comfort read.

This book is the continuation of Andromeda and Lennox’s story.
🌙 LB has captivated me and appealed to all my senses with this fabulous story. The vocabulary used and the plot are easy to follow and understand. She did amazing with the character development as well.
The twists, turns, and discoveries our Pretty Priestess goes through to learn more about herself, her power, and what her fate holds are incredible. I was not able to see many twists coming and that had me hooked.
Characters:
🌓 one of my favorite characters is Delphine, a little box of surprises, what a character!
🌗 If someone finds Erik, please send that giant of a man my way.
🌘 I loved how Lennox was teasing her even during difficult times, just to help her feel better.

The character growth in this story is amazing. For the first time in many years both Andi and Lennox find themselves looking towards a future where they could be happy.
While this freedom is all they've ever wanted, it is accompanied by responsibility. We see these characters grow together and individually as they learn what is like to be living for more than just survival.
New, stunning characters are introduced that challenge Andromeda and her understanding of her past, while greatly impacting her view of the future.
While this is not as much a swashbuckling adventure as the first, there is still the violence, swaggering sailors, and female power that you have come to expect.

If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a million times: LB Benson’s writing is like butter. It’s so sweet, it’s so smooth, and it just melts. *chefs kiss* Perfection. The way she balances world building, character development, dialogue, and action is to die for.
The City of New Aphros picks up exactly where The Bartered Soul left off. The continuation of the story is seamless and readers feel like they haven’t missed a beat.
The plot thickens as we get into more of the history and politics surrounding this beautiful world Benson has created for us. New characters bring spark and intrigue to the story and our old favorites are just as lovable as we remember. Power and magic are palpable as these delightful priestesses come into their own and who can say no to a vicious pirate with “touch her (without permission) and you die” vibes for his one and only?
The pacing is perfect, the spice is *shiver* delicious, and the story keeps getting better and better! I cannot wait for Book 3!

Book 2 of Andromeda’s Account was a page-turning, romantic whirlwind adventure with a WILD ending (I’m hyperventilating but also SO ready for book 3 already LOL) and alllllll the Lennox content. 🥰 I really enjoyed getting to go deeper into this world, it’s politics, and the relationships that were built in book 1. This is definitely a series you want to check out you guys. 🏴☠️

I received an eARC of this book and loved being back in Andromeda’s world.
I thought I knew Andromeda’s story after The Bartered Soul but, little did I know, we have just scratched the surface and get so much more in this one! I still love her (I may or may not have dressed up as her for Halloween) and am in awe of her resilience in spite of everything thrown her way. This girl just cannot catch a break.
This book has got several badass, strong, and inspiring women who I would love to be friends with. Like TBS though, TCONA is not without some heartbreak and I found myself internally yelling at the book during certain moments. And the way it ended? Such an exciting moment that made me want to jump right into book 3!

TCONA picks up right where we’re left off in The Bartered Soul. We’re introduced to new characters and a lively new city. DNF at 35%
I found myself just reading the dialogue after page 40 or so... Too descriptive, huge blocks of text that don't really add anything to the story, rambling internal monologues that go round in circles. I skimmed the last 100 pages or so of the first book but thought the second might be better.
This might be a great story for some, but I just found it way too hard to get through. There wasn't enough to keep me gripped and engaged in the story. I might come back to this book at some point, we'll see.

I am completely unsure how to go o. With my life after finishing this.I adored Andromeda and Lennox in TBS and didn’t think they could get any better, but god was I wrong. Lennox is the most perfect little cinnamon roll, and every time he speaks I fall more and more in love with him. Andromeda has so much to learn and grow through in this, and her choices will shape who she becomes. This story has a beautiful collaboration of epic love, feminism, and pirates (because who doesn’t love a good Pirate?!). LB above and beyond smashed my hopes for the follow up to one of my favorite reads of the year, and I have no idea how she’ll top this one, but I know for sure that she will!

LB did it again! I loved her first book The Barterd Soul. This one was just as good. We were able to read some of the OG characters but also got to meet a lot of new one. I am obsessed with LB and her writing. I love this world she has created and reading about characters older and around my own age makes me happy. I need the next one!!!

This story/world really has it all. Intricate plot and world building, loveable characters who continue to grow, drama and plot twists, and the perfect amount of spice.
This picks up right where TBS leaves off. There are no wasted words or chapters in this story and I love that. Everything you read is important. I love the growth we see in all our characters, especially Nerissa. We also get some new friends (including my new favorite little rain cloud, Delphine).
I love the direction the story went in this one, and finding out more about both Billy and Nerissa's pasts. Everything connects to perfectly, and their love for one another is so beautiful. I was so happy to receive an ARC for this book because I immediately wanted more when I finished book 1 this summer. This instantly became a favorite read of the year for me and I cannot wait for book 3 to see how Nerissa fills her.... new role (avoiding spoilers)

I loved all the new revelations this brought me. The friendships that turned into found family brought genuine happiness to my heart as if these characters were real life people who I’ve been rooting for (which lets be real, I’ve been rooting for them even though they’re fictional). Everything heats up in this book - the magic, the relationships, the impending threats. I cannot wait to see how Andromeda’s story ends

Book two gives us more female empowerment, more Lennox, diving deeper into the theme of religious fanatics, and the plowing over of anything "other". We see these women finding each other, finding themselves, and standing together. It's magical, and powerful, and I'm about to commission myself some silver robes.
There isn't a single character in these books that doesn't do something for me, whether I'm rooting them to victory or hoping for their slow death.

Book 1 of Andromeda’s account was good, this book, #2, fantastic! The author’s writing, also fantastic.
This book had significantly more story and background than the first; the action came more towards the end.

A stunning sequel that gives magic, sisterhood, romance and spice. New characters and a new backdrop with a full circle plot and one hell of an ending. Do not miss this book! The growth and pasts of the characters deepen as we fall in love with new friends and up the stakes. LB Benson writes with such detail and paints a beautiful picture of the world and the complicated relationships within it.

I really enjoyed the first book and was a bit disappointed by this one. I couldn’t help but feel like a main part of the first 75% of the book was just a set up for a threesome with Delphine. A little disappointed, maybe the next installment will be more like the first.

The City New Aphros continues on Andromeda and Lennox's journey to this beautiful city. Andromeda has a new vulnerability, her love for Lennox, but is excited to explore this new city while they wait out the winter storms. The city has changed quite a bit since Lennox last left it. King Blackwell and his priests reach have now entered the free City of New Aphros. And the priests are upsetting the harmony. Some things never change though. He is still the most feared pirate and he wants it to stay that way to protect Andromeda. New characters are introduced and shake things up for the pirate and priestess. Will Andromeda get the quiet life and freedom she so desperately wants? Or will the events of her past and present push her on a path she has so long feared?
Andromeda, our FMC, is still as fierce as ever! It was nice to see her journey continue and to get to see more vulnerable parts of her. I feel like we got more in depth with her fears and to see her change and become even stronger. She is a fighter our she-wolf.
Lennox, our MMC, I fell even more in love his him. He is still romantic AF, protective, a SIMP for our girl, and all around a supportive partner. He is literally everything you wish to have in a MMC.

LB writing is amazing! She captured relationships and desires perfectly. Also, I literally felt like I was walking in the city itself with her descriptors. She captured a person's inner mental struggles when deciding what path they should go on and the fears that come with that. I did find that book two wasn't as action packed as book one and would drag in some parts. However, this didn't make me love it any less. This book needed to be like this, to move and prepare Andromeda for the path she is destined for! It is the calm before the storm! I can't wait for book three "Step into your power" She-Wolf!!!!
The City New Aphros continues on Andromeda and Lennox's journey to this beautiful city. Andromeda has a new vulnerability, her love for Lennox, but is excited to explore this new city while they wait out the winter storms. The city has changed quite a bit since Lennox last left it. King Blackwell and his priests reach have now entered the free City of New Aphros. And the priests are upsetting the harmony. Some things never change though. He is still the most feared pirate and he wants it to stay that way to protect Andromeda. New characters are introduced and shake things up for the pirate and priestess. Will Andromeda get the quiet life and freedom she so desperately wants? Or will the events of her past and present push her on a path she has so long feared?
Andromeda, our FMC, is still as fierce as ever! It was nice to see her journey continue and to get to see more vulnerable parts of her. I feel like we got more in depth with her fears and to see her change and become even stronger. She is a fighter our she-wolf.
Lennox, our MMC, I fell even more in love his him. He is still romantic AF, protective, a SIMP for our girl, and all around a supportive partner. He is literally everything you wish to have in a MMC.
Side characters, I won't say much because I don't want to spoil anything. But Del and Salome!!!!! I love them beyond words. That is all.

LB writing is amazing! She captured relationships and desires perfectly. Also, I literally felt like I was walking in the city itself with her descriptors. She captured a person's inner mental struggles when deciding what path they should go on and the fears that come with that. I did find that book two wasn't as action packed as book one and would drag in some parts. However, this didn't make me love it any less. This book needed to be like this, to move and prepare Andromeda for the path she is destined for! It is the calm before the storm! I can't wait for book three "Step into your power" She-Wolf!!!!
