Skyy is a 30-year-old writer from Memphis, TN. Her first novel, Choices, was released in 2007, and quickly gained popularity both within the gay and lesbian community and the urban fiction community. The highly anticipated sequel, Consequences, was released in 2009 with high praise, and rocketed to the top-10 best-seller lists on Amazon.com as well as at independent bookstores across the country.

Touted as the next E. Lynn Harris, Skyy blurs the lines between lesbian and straight communities in her fiction by speaking with intimate familiarity about the striking commonalities of loving and living as African American women in urban America. The books resonate with truismsamong women of all ages and gender identities.

Right now Skyy is working hard to bring her books to the screen.

In Skyy’s spare time. she enjoys traveling and spending time at home. When she is not on the road with her books, she is a club promoter.

4 stars. I was the Michael Jackson eating popcorn gif throughout this entire book. Messy as hell and so entertaining. This series would be a great tv show. Like a Black The L Word or something. It’s filled to the brim with drama and I was enjoying just watching everyone’s lives just implode and fall apart. Everybody was a hot ass mess in this and I really need Lena to figure it out forreal because I need her and Denise to be together. Also, Cooley still sleeping with every woman with a pulse and she’s just so entertaining.

Where does everyone go after this one? Especially with the big thing that happened in the end. I’m excited to see what happens next. This series has me hooked.

I enjoyed this sequel to Consequences but of course it did not live up to Choices. Choices was by far my favorite book so it pretty much set the bar. I don't want to give any spoiler alerts but I was glad to see certain things finally happen that I had been waiting on in Choices. The only thing I didn't like about this book was it had a little too much drama. It was so many characters I could not keep up with all the names. I know it is fiction but some of the drama seemed kind of over the top. The only other thing was the ending. It was kind of predictable what was going to happen leading up to the ending and it was not as much of a cliff hanger as Choices. It seems like Skyy is going to start a whole new story line for Crossroads since everyone has moved on so I have no clue how to the story is going to be. I hope it is good and not one of those sequel flops. Anyway I love Skyy and her imagination is awesome.

More of 3.5 for me. Choices was more for me but Skyy has 2 more books after this and I want to read them before I judge the series. So far I'm enjoying it but because it was left at a cliff hanger I can't stop thinking about the characters.
I thought Denise would be a favorite of mine but after this book it turned out to be Cooley. I feel for her.

Enjoyed the sequel to Choices. I cannot wait to see what will happen between Lena and Denise. Denise is my all time favorite and I just fell in love with her personality. I felt bad for Cooley, she just doesn't seem to be able to get it right. Hoping to see her find love soon

Karma coming for all the drama

Real talk —Is love THIS d@*% hard or are they just making it hard on themselves?? Cause… WTF!?!?
Who woulda thought? Outta all the women's relationships, Carmen is the only one that's good with it! Denise is still pining & faking & fronting with some chica she never really wanted. Lena is sticking with her NBA fiance but still mad thirsting for some D (Denise not that other d!) …& then there's Cooley & Mischa—I can't even—with their indecisive, weeble wobbling, beyond extra level of messiness they both just won't stop stirring (& screwing) 💩 up!!

I tell you these females are a hot d@*% messes 💯!! & I can't wait for more!! Lmao!!!

I literally just stayed up all night reading this because I was so enthralled. This had so may twists and plot turns that I didn’t know what the next chapter would bring and it surely didn’t end anything like I had imagined. Denise seems like a genuine character and I hope she is finally able to live and bask in that love; bottling up your feelings when you’re in love isn’t easy... but when you find the right one and uncork that bottle, it’s magical. Where’s the next book?

Consequences was a much better book than Choices in my opinion, but you can't read one without the other or then again you could beacuse Skyy explains the history of each character, which was good and bad for me. Good for someone who didn't read part one; bad because it seemed pointless since I read part one and just made me want to bypass it. I believe I finsihed Consequences much faster. It had me laughing out loud and gasping. I'm looking forward to part three.I started it last night.

I absolutely loved choices so when I found consequences I had to read it and I must say these books only get better and better unfortunately they also get shorter. One suggestion I would have made was to focus more on Denise and Lena because their relationship is what made choices so good in consequences it seems there is more focus on each individual rather than the group as a whole. But still very very great work that I would recommend to anybody who loves to read.

No.

I really understand that the author was trying to capture the "hood", but there in trying to capture it I was lost in the language and it was a conscious effort to keep up. As I like to get lost in my stories this was was a no for me.
The author would be wise to remember here that readers are diverse and you really wouldn't want lose some of you audience. It would take a lot for me to read any more books from this author.

I didn't like the diction in the book. It didn't seem like how people that were "hood" or "gangsta" would talk.
