Still re-reading the Lucky Star manga! I got 2 or 3 volumes left, and I am kind of excited (Lucky Star yay!), but also sad (it is ending again). I really enjoyed reading it, though I do feel it could do without the introductions all the time (really, how many times can you introduce the characters).
My fav part was the first part of the book, I wasn't that interested in the later parts, though I did love Konata's mom's story. So sweet!

I agree with my YA child that this volume was just "meh". We can only hope that the previous volumes were better, because we loved the anime series.

The most interesting part of the book were the two pages of translator's notes. These notes were unfortunatelyin the back of the book and were not mentioned in the table of contents, so I didn't consult them while reading the 4 panel comics. However, I don't think it would have made a difference - a joke you have to explain or contextualize with background information is rarely funny.

Some of the comics have jokes that are outdated. For example, jokes about answering the home telephone (very few have landlines anymore).

Some of the comics are cringey, like the dad being borderline pedo - which I don't find funny at all!

Some of the comics are little more than advertisements or announcements for other things, especially in the last half of the volume.

My other complaint is that there are way too many characters that aren't easily distinguished from one another in black and white format. Some of them can be hardly even called characters at all, for example one whose main character trait is being flat-chested.

That said, there was one sweet bonus comic, and a couple relateable situations, but this was not enough for me to recommend this volume at all. Watch the anime instead!

P.S. There is no Lucky Channel in the manga, only in the anime.

I love that it's a collection of comics, plus it taught me half of the emotes that I use!!
