Rex Claremont is the oldest son of one of the wealthiest families in the world. He’s the hottest man I’ve ever seen, but also a world-class grump. Too bad I didn’t know that when I got hired as his executive assistant.
I am the opposite of a grump. I’m also a world-class screw-up. There is no way that this won’t be a disaster. And I need this job and its paychecks to save my house from foreclosure.
So, of course, that means I just have to make such a massive mistake at work that Rex wants to fire me.
Instead, he does something totally unexpected.
He offers me a deal. If I play the role of his girlfriend and attend ritzy events with him, ballgowns and all, then I can keep my job and save my house. But why would a billionaire want someone like me to pretend to be his girlfriend?
I don’t question it. I need this job.
We agree up front to casual touches only, just enough to make things look believable. Sounds easy enough, except that it’s not.
The longer our situation goes on, the more I’m not so sure I’m pretending anymore. And I’m pretty sure he’s not either.

Fav Quotes:
- Hummapalooza, - Ms. Pollyanna McChatty herself. - I was just about the opposite of a grouch. How was this ever going to work? If I were famous—I’d never be, but if I were—I’d be famous for hating grumps! We would never be on the same page. - “I think,” she said, “that you seem serious on the surface, all business, but really, you’re a kind and maybe even funny person. Because of the nuts. The nuts are an interesting choice for a CEO.” -“You play the role of my girlfriend, you keep your job.” -“If I act like myself, they’ll wonder what you see in me.” He cleared his throat. “It’s not up to them what I see in anyone.” In those words, I could hear an entire world of hurt, and pain, and betrayal. What kind of family situation would I be walking into? How much would being myself actually help? I didn’t want to ask. He seemed so sure that me being myself was the way to go. - “I can also be pretty flirty without any contact at all, if that works better for you,” I said. -“Sure it will,” she said. “This house is amazing, though. Can we just skip dinner and you take me on a tour of it? Like, all of it. Every inch of it.” Her eyes darted to me, and she gave me a sheepish smile. “Sorry. Maybe that’s weird to say. This is your home, not some kind of theme park.” -Mostly, that I liked touching his arm. Too much. My boss was hot—I already knew that—but he was far too serious for me, far too grumpy, and far too rich. Part of me thought none of that mattered if I just wanted to sleep with him, but I could not sleep with this man. Wait, had I just thought that? I did not want to sleep with my boss! No, Evie! No! I couldn’t even slip my arm around him or snuggle in closer against the warmth of his body. I wanted to. I wanted to touch his stomach and see if he had abs. I liked to think that he did. No, I knew he did. -“Holy shit,” I breathed, and I felt Rex’s arm tense under my hand. Right. Probably shouldn’t swear at the view. Be myself, but not that myself. -“Maybe no one feels in control of their lives. Maybe that’s just how life goes.” -“I’m not angry. I’m frustrated.” He fisted his hands at his sides. “I’m attracted to you. I don’t want to be. I want this to be strictly business, but if we kiss again like that, it’s not going to be. I’m not sure I can do this with someone I’m attracted to. It’s too…distracting.” -The family shuffled into the house like it was no big deal, so I tried to stop gaping at everything. I failed. Giant entryway doors. Gape. House staff retrieving our luggage and carrying it inside. Gape. Grand staircase near the entryway. -This was a full-on snugglefest. -I couldn't say no to her. I couldn't say no to myself, either. I wanted to see her in that dress. I wanted to peel it off of her after the gala, too. I wanted my whole social circle, from my family to Anya to friends I only spoke to at these kinds of events, to see this beautiful woman on my arm and know that she was mine. Not for pretend, but for real. -“I can’t help it. You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.” “Well, contain yourself, because I think I might be a fragile piece of artwork now.” -You love it. I want you to be able to love it in front of me without shame or explanations. I love you, and it’s yours, so I love it as well.” I turned toward him. “You love me?” He nodded. “I love you, and I don’t want to wait for you to sort your problems out. I don’t care if you don’t come from the same world as me, or if you didn’t make some mortgage payments, or if you have to live with your dad for a while. I don’t care at all.” “But I’m a mess,” I said. “I’m not afraid of a mess,” he said. “Let me be there with you while you figure it all out.” I set the keys on the mantle and moved toward him. I let myself touch him then. I placed my hands on his chest and then let them wander up around his neck. “I’m sorry for running away.”
Review:
I enjoyed this book. For me this book/author had sooo much potential. It skipped over so much and left out so much info that could have taken from from a 3 star to a 4 or even 4.5 star. But add stuff that could have been left out.
Its a office romance, which I love, which once again had so much potential. It focused way more on Lochlan than the actual romance, then BOOM sex on the table.
This book had a lot that I loved. The way the billionaire treated the middle class. Her awe in everything and anything he introduced her to. That part was really well written.
For me there was WHY to much energy words and pages spend on Lochlan and the other girl he was suppose to marry and to little on their chemistry.
This book was all about the drama and not all about the relationship.
However I enjoyed it and would recommend it to someone as a fun read.
She's Cinderella at the ball but will he be her Prince Charming?
Rex Claremont has an MBA, he's already a billionaire and quite happy with being a consultant helping businesses recover and reach their full potential.
His father is a self made man. He began with a financial company and then moved on to start the famed hotel and resort businesses that the family is now known for. His mother was a well known Hollywood star. Upon their 30th birthday, each child will have revealed the conditions they must fulfill to inherit.
Despite Rex's success, his parents aren't happy with him. His father wants him to be a CEO not a consultant. Then there's his personality. He's too serious, too selective and has no sense of humor. He's also not married and they fear he'll remain alone the rest of his life.
To inherit, Rex must become CEO at Quinn Financial, his father's first company, and make it profitable again. This despite the fact that his sister, Rebekah, who is already COO there, would be a much better person for this job. Oh, also he needs to marry before his 31st birthday. They even have his bride picked out for him, Anya, their best friends' daughter. Too bad he can't stand her. She does want to marry him because her parents took note of his parents' plan and now she also has to marry by her 31st birthday to inherit.
Rebekah hires Evie to be Rex's assistant. Evie worked for her in the past and has been at the company for 10 years working in several departments.
Evie is light to his dark, bubbly and outgoing to his quiet and withdrawn personality. Then there's her constant chattering.. She's driving him crazy!
Evie may work at a financial company but she's not good at handling her finances. She's chosen to help bail her father out of his financial woes and now is about to lose her home. When she makes an error that causes the company to lose a large investor, she's about to be fired. However Rex blackmails her into helping him. He won't fire her if she helps him.
It's not easy for an ordinary person to fit into the world of the uberwealthy. Evie tries her best but it doesn't seem to be good enough.
Rex has always lived in the lap of luxury. Evie's reactions of awe to what is normal for him, brings back his appreciation of what he does have. Plus she's the first woman who likes him for himself not what he has or what he could do for her.
Evie has tried her best to fit into his world. After she's humiliated by Anya at a huge gala, enough is enough.
It would be equally hard for Rex to live in Evie's world. His father tells him, in essence, "Good riddance to her!" Will Rex be brave enough to try her world of "a t-shirt and old jeans and worn-out flip-flops"?
This story grabbed me from the very beginning. Once I started I couldn't put it down. I even stayed up past my bedtime to finish it. If the stories of his 2 sisters and 2 brothers are as good as this one, this will be a great series!
I received an ARC of the Kindle edition from the author via Booksprout. I am voluntarily leaving this review.
Heat Factor: There are steamy scenes and it doesn’t necessarily shy away from flirtation, but I wouldn’t say it has a lot of sexual tension
Character Chemistry: The characters don’t really make sense together but that’s kind of the point of the plot
Plot: Rex will only get his inheritance if he acts as CEO at one of his family’s businesses AND if he gets married within a year. Evie needs to keep her new promotion as Rex’s assistant in order to prevent her house from going into foreclosure. Rex threatens to fire Evie unless she agrees to be his fake girlfriend in order to get his parents off his case, and sparks ensue.
Overall: I think this book has a lot of potential, especially with the messy characters, but some of the editorial choices did impact my enjoyment of the material.

At first I wasn’t sure I was going to like The Billionaire's Girlfriend Deal: Book 1 of The Claremont Billionaires. It was a bit slow, but man I ended up loving it. Evie is a ray of sunshine, she’s happy and people love her. Rex is a grumpy, stubborn billionaire who needs a wife to get his inheritance. When a family friend tries to pressure him into marriage, he blackmailed Evie to be his fake girlfriend. We know how this goes, fake girlfriend becomes real feelings. They still come from different worlds and when their private business becomes a spectacle will their relationship survive? Such a great storyline and lovable characters. I can’t wait to read about the remaining Claremont siblings. I would definitely recommend this book.

Wow! I loved this book. This is a brand new author for me and I will definitely be coming back for more! The author makes the characters come to life and you get sucked into this story. This book is about the couple Rex and Evie. Rex is a emotionally controlled alpha male and evie is about as opposite as you can get. Rex needs help to hold off his family and a very pushy “family friend” Rex turns to Evie and they begin a relationship that is fake. It quickly turns real and the feelings start to show. Steamy intimate scenes and great dialogue. Highly recommend. HEA for now… who is going to be the next sibling that gets their HEA? Can’t wait !!.

Rex ends up becoming CEO of a company that Evie is working at. Rex does not want the job and certainly not Evie as his assistant. Rex is a grumpy standoffish kind of guy while Evie is nearly the complete opposite, she's chatty and cheerful. I enjoyed this book and the way their relationship developed, although there were a couple moments I wondered if things would work out between them in the end. The story doesn't have any violence or action. There is some family turmoil and turmoil from a past significant other. There is plenty of humor in this story, I think I had a smile on my face while reading the entire story.

This is a sexy, fun romance that plays with a lot of romance tropes really well. If you totally hate billionaire romance, it won't be the book for you, but if you're not opposed to them and you like stories where two people feel cornered by their own life situations so they make some questionable choices that forces proximity and then end up figuring out themselves AND finding love, this one is just delightful. The story doesn't shy away from Rex's privilege or the power dynamics of Rex and Evie's relationship.
I have to disclose I'm acquainted with the author, but I also read A LOT of romance books (and understand the HR pitfalls of office romance, thx old job!), and I devoured this book, so I also wouldn't hesitate to recommend this book to everybody.
The agreement between Evie and Rex for her to pose as his fake girlfriend solves problems for them both. But what starts out as lie quickly gets complicated.
Evie is a talkative, sunshine whirlwind to Rex's taciturn, solitary recluse.
It is wonderful to see Evie gradually brighten and open up Rex's personality and change his view of the world and his place in it.
The characters had depth, were easy to like and feel invested in their success.
I really enjoyed this story which gripped my interest from the very start. A new author for me but definitely one I will look out for in the future.

Rex serves as a consultant at his fathers company, with the expectation that he's to become CEO. It's on his 30th birthday when he finds out that there are terms he needs to satisfy to be promoted to the CEO spot. He's to be married by his next birthday.
Evie is Rex's new assistant. After making a huge mistake that she expects to be fired, instead he wants her to be his wife.
Read this book to see how they handle their new roles, and what threatens their future. Most importantly, how they end up with their happily ever after.

I had never read anything by Kryssa James but The Billionaires Girlfriend Deal was a wonderful book. If you love good looking Billionaires and their families with the over the top rich life styles. You will love this book. He is sent to this company to turn it around she has worked at the company a lot of years. She applied and got the job of his assistant. When they met he was cold and grumpy. She is beautiful, smart and always sees the good in everything. They were perfect for each other … lots of drama family and otherwise I can’t say more because I hate spoilers. I will just say this book was a great romantic story and I highly recommended it.
This book was mediocre. There is spice but it’s the very vanilla type.
H was a true grump. h was all sunshine and happy mood. 🤷♀️ H’s POV mentions many times how he should fire her. At one point, he almost does. h accidentally tells an investor some negative things about the company. The investor pulls out, which causes the company to lose millions. h’s house is in foreclosure, so she really needs this job (she been with the company for 10 years)
They agree to “pretend” date so H’s parents will get off his back about marrying OW and keeping his inheritance 😂
There is very little chemistry between the MCs. They seemed more friend-like instead of lover-like.
Kryssa James has written a delightful, feel good billionaire grump romance. You won't be able to resist Evie. While financially challenged she is the sweetest, smartest, most beautiful and hardworking woman. Rex on the otherhand is also handsome and smart but unfortunstely really restrained and grumpy. You will need to read the book to find out how they meet, what drives their burgeoning relationship, what threatens their future and whether they get their HEA

A series opener about a rich set of siblings… Rex is told he must marry and his parents are pushing him towards a girl he doesn’t like.. Anya….he asks Evie to be his pretend girlfriend but that turns out to more real than either imagined…. It is good that he did not let the hem pressure him to a wedding date feeling their relationship was more important but I would have liked to see a wedding… maybe in a future part of the series.

A new author for me. I enjoyed reading this story about Evie and Rex. He’s the Claremont’s oldest son. He’s also a very alpha, sexy and a terrible grumpy billionaire. Evie and Rex are opposites but they are attracted to each other. Evie works for Rex and when she makes a mistake he manipulates her into a pretend relationship to get his family off his back. Evie needing her job agrees to the fake relationship. It’s not long before feelings get in the way and things change.

I actually really liked Evie and Rex. Their banter and her happy go lucky exterior she put on even when her life was imploding really drew me to the kind of sweet, kind and honest person Evie was. Rex was definitely no ray of sunshine to work for but Evie had a way of breaking down those walls and leaving him feeling flustered and oh so cute.
Had a couple of steamy scenes but they were tastefully done and appropriate for the time of the story.
All in all it flowed well and left me wanting more, which is always a good sign, right?
This was an incredible book. I love all the tropes (billionaire boss, grumpy/sunshine, fake dating) but this book has so much heart that when I’d wake up with insomnia, I’d read until well after I was fully awake, staying up as long as possible to read more.
Their chemistry is undeniable, and her story is relatable (to me, anyway). The story is compelling and I loved the spicy scenes and the buildup there.
Love a billionaire who respects autonomy and doesn't just swoop in and pay for everything. Rex is probably one of the most lovable billionaires I've read in a long time.
**I'm convinced everyone should read a billionaire romance at least once a month for mental health purposes**

“I can’t help it. You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.” “Well, contain yourself, because I think I might be a fragile piece of artwork now.”
Rex and Evie are complete opposites, and when he becomes the CEO of the company she works for, the sparks between them fly. The passion builds with every moment they spend together. What happens when it becomes too hard to ignore? Will they be able to make a relationship work despite being so different?
This book was a first me by this particular author, and have to say I did really like the book. I especially liked the characters. I will say that I didn’t realise that this was a very low spice book as I absolutely love a billionaire boss book however happy with the overall story I do think the book had more potential for a more dynamic storyline, but yet again, not disappointed.
I thought this was a fun book about fake dating and the pressures of family. I related to Evie’s character and thought she was wonderfully written. Her and Rex were the definition of the grumpy x sunshine trope and this book had me hooked from beginning to end.
The Billionaire's Girlfriend Deal was such a wonderful read that I was hooked from the very beginning! The great plot and well created characters kept me totally engaged throughout the entire book! Well done!.

Cute, sweet, and fun. Characters we easy to relate to and definitely a fun read. Reminded me of Princess diaries with an older twist her descriptions of the main characters. Worth the read and can’t wait for the next one!
Nice and engaging book. Storyline was flowing smoothly, characters have great chemistry. When two opposite worlds collide who win. Will love prevail ?.

Like a fairy tale... Amazing common book of love and ignorance between boss and assistant. Mix of love, fake dating, pure sex, boss and assistant romance and much more. Really loved her work. Worth one shot!
A nice, quick, easy read. I needed a break from high stakes fantasy and this was perfect. It was fast paced and a little clichè but very cute and heartwarming. If you want a cute romance with a HEA this is for you.
Well written and moves at a fast pace. The story is good. I did question whether a 29 year old woman would be that clueless about the place she has worked for for ten years.
This story shows how one very stubborn billionaire is changed by his over bubbly assistant. She is able to crack through his rough shell and actually make him a very happy man. Wonderful read.
