Name (in native language): 田村由美 Birth Date: September 5 Zodiac: Virgo
Tamura is an avid RPG videogamer - Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, etc. She also loves to read mystery books, and going on the computer to chat with her fans.
In this volume, we meet the Autumn Team and they are a big YIKES. This is not a team you want to meet up with at the end of the world. I am happy that Spring and Winter have united and I am hoping that Summer Team B will unite with Spring especially after the meeting with Winter not going as well as I wanted it to.
Them Summer B met team Autumn. I hate the scene that Ran tore off a bird’s neck and drink blood of it. The readers of team Autumn has strong power, and I could understand that Izayoi tried to poison.

I think I'm finally going to have to acknowledge that this series just isn't for, and no matter how hard I try, that fact just isn't going to change. I wanted to love this so bad, it gets inundated with tons of praise, and is one of the few scifi shoujo series that has been translated to English. But I just don't enjoy the characters all that much, plus there's too many for me to reasonably keep track of, and the story, while somewhat interesting with the mysterious elements, just isn't super captivating. It's very bleak, and depressing. The art is mostly good though. I like the character designs, but anything involving action becomes significantly harder to properly make out. I think it probably would've benefited from color pages, to more clearly define what's what.
I did appreciate that we were back with Summer B, I missed seeing them. But Autumn was a disappointment, and everything felt too melancholic. At least some teams were finally meeting each other. It's just not quite enough to keep me.
Due to all of that, I'm officially DNFing the rest of this series, as sad as that is. Maybe I'll end up enjoying Yumi Tamura's other series, Basara more. I like stuff with historical elements, royalty, enemies-to-lovers, and possibly some fantasy (not sure if it actually has that last one).
This time a volume dedicated to Summer Team B, their journey and what they discover, we meet up with an old friend, and I am very confused about how the time works. For instance in Volume 4 we see Spring Team find a note from Summer Team B, however from what I can see that note isn't delivered until this volume (unless I get my shelters mixed up, but it wasn't until this one that they went underwater and left a note). Winter Team? Or well who is left? It has been 15 years apparently. As for Autumn Team, it has been 3 years for them. *is confused* Though kudos to the guy in Team Winter. I wasn't a fan of Team Autumn, how distrustful they are and how they treat the people that came with them. I can understand that they want things to run smoothly, but maybe a bit less violence? I am already glad they didn't turn out to murderous/cannibals as I had thought they would be. I can't wait to read more of this series.
A favorite character so far: Semimarou A person who tries to keep his spirit up and fools around even in these harsh times. His presence is really necessary.
I just finished rereading this volume and I already have trouble remembering all the scenes that stood out to me here because there were so many of them. Natsu's continued development is amazing - when we met her in volume 1, she never would've been able to talk to Team Autumn the way she did, and Semimaru even started coaxing her out of her habit of talking to herself and got her to talk to him and Arashi more instead.
Team Autumn sure is something, isn't it? I've only read four more volumes than this so far, so I haven't met them again yet, but I can#t help but wonder how much of their more exagerated behaviour they displayed here was them putting on a show (like Ran casually ripping a bird's neck off and pouring its blood on her tongue). Someone (Natsu?) remarked that they built a high fence around their settlement, keep the fire lit, and keep a night watch, so they're also scared, so some posturing would go well with that theory.
And speaking of posturing (or a comparative lack thereof), Semimaru is also starting to drop some of his more assholish behaviours (although he's of course still entertainingly obnoxious) as he starts to realise that maybe, just maybe, he can trust Arashi and Natsu. (Also, it was only a single panel, but when Arashi had been stung by that wasp, and Natsu ran off to get help, she returned to Semimaru cradling the feverish Arashi to his chest and crying, even though he'd previously put on the "if he dies, that's just fate, who cares!" act. Quite a different thing to say that and to realise that maybe someone's going to die in your presence and the only other person around has ran off, huh?
Which of course then leads to the meeting with Aramaki and I adored every moment of that. The dogs of course, but also his advice to Arashi, and the sheer heartbreak when he realised the first people he'd met in fifteen years were about to leave after a few hours because they couldn't/didn't trust him. And he doesn't even hold it against them and instead keep going, as he's done for so long, with the dogs and his memories. Enter Team Spring! But that is another story for another time...

I feel like things are starting to come together with the different groups, but the story hasn't quite started picking up. Semimaru might be one of my favorites, but his presence with the main group doesn't really feel warranted? The ending with Aramiki and team Spring also felt just a little too convenient, but hey, I do like seeing the groups come together some
ARAMAKIIIII MY HEARTTTT IM SO SO SORRY BUT AHHHHHHHHHHHHH THEY WERE SO CLOSE THEY ONLY NEEDED TO STAY FOR A FEW HOURS AND THEYD HAVE REUNITID GODDDDDDDDDD
Another great volume. Arashi and the other two meet up with the boy who managed to survive from the previous volume, only it's been 15 years for him. They also encounter team autumn. The man who survived from team winter is ditched by the Arashi team, who don't trust him, but he then meets up with Hana, who brings him to meet the others.
