It’s wonderful for a writer to live near Washington, DC as I do. The research resources are fabulous, the scenery is great – complete with monuments, gorgeous public buildings, and the most amazing, weird, convoluted, political people – and I get to be here with the most awesome family, friends and neighbors in the world. I live here with my wonderful husband (he’s my personal hero), my two delightful, growing-too-fast sons, and my three silly rescue dogs.
As former marketing executive, I worked for research parks, governmental concerns and not-for-profits, (which is also great fodder for the writer’s mind!) but now I’m happily employed as a consultant and full-time writer. I’m a member of Romance Writers of America, Science Fiction Writers of America, Mystery Writers of America, and Thriller Writers. I’m also a proud member of the Washington Romance Writers, an RWA chapter, as well as several online RWA chapters. I'm a former board member of the Romance Writers of America.
One of the most enjoyable things I get to do as a consultant and writer, is to teach. I enjoy connecting with my clients, readers and other writers. Having also worked in the funeral and cemetery business for nearly thirteen years, I teach a class on Body Disposal.
Being part of the Ad(d)ams Family, as you can imagine, Halloween is my favorite holiday. I love to work in the garden, run my dogs, hang out with my family, and write. Other than that, as another, more famous author says, the rest is subject to change without notice.

2 ½ stars. Just ok. Easy to put down. Heroine is mostly a victim. She doesn’t do anything logical or smart to help herself.
STORY BRIEF:
Due to a conflict in college and miscommunication, Torie has not liked Paul for many years. Torie was later engaged to Paul’s best friend Todd. Todd broke the engagement when he won a multi-million-dollar lottery. Since then, whenever Torie dates someone, something bad happens to the guy. One guy was murdered, and others suffered property damage. Recently Todd returned to town, was murdered, and the murderer put Torie’s hair and blood on him. The murderer also shot at Torie and burned her house down. Paul was Todd’s lawyer and is helping Torie during this time. A relationship develops between Paul and Torie.
REVIEWER’S OPINION:
The story was ordinary. Not enough character development. It was readable, but I wasn’t pulled in. Torie’s role is primarily a victim. She suffers through multiple attacks. She’s supposed to be a smart engineer, but her actions did not fit the logical, rational mind that engineers are supposed to have. Torie had an incident with the killer in college and other interactions with him later. She should have mentioned these to the police when they asked her, but she didn’t. I have no idea why not. She wasn’t even thinking about them in her own mind. This made her appear irrational which I didn’t like. Unfortunately, Torie does something stupid toward the end, which gets her into the clutches of the bad guy. I don’t like crisis based on stupid actions. I also didn’t care for how that incident played out. It was not creative or different. The ending was happy, but not fun or fulfilling.
I didn’t like the premise for the relationship. Paul and Torie have sex one time during college. It was so great that Paul avoids her for years. She thinks he doesn’t like her. (Would a normal guy do that? I don’t think so.) After they get together currently, she gets mad at him and leaves. I did not understand why she was mad. It wasn’t interesting. It felt like the author couldn’t think of anything better and just threw this in to get it over with.
I had several questions about Dev which were not answered. I wanted to see the incident in which he got beat up, who did it, who called him later, why he disappeared, and more. I had other unanswered questions. Why didn’t the killer rape Torie when he had a chance during their first situation? And why did someone get jobs for certain people?
OTHER BOOKS:
If you want to try this author, start with her first book “Dark and Dangerous.” I gave it 4 ½ stars.

Tori thought she had been cursed for the last five years, in actuality she's been the target of a crazy man. While I figured out the who fairly early, it was engaging. Although the fight with Paul really made me think less of him.

Jeanne Adams writes a good book. Enjoyed it very much. Romantic suspense is one of my favorite genres.

akhirnya kebaca juga ni ebook setelah sekian lama nunggu giliran, ternyata bagus ceritanya thriller suspense romance tipe bacaan gue banget.
torie, pada hari pernikahannya, tunangannya todd membatalkan pernikahan dan ingin berpisah dengannya gara2 menang jackpot, lima tahun kemudian mantan tunangannya kembali dan di bunuh, rumahnya torie dibakar, hampir mati ditembak, ia merasa semenjak batal pernikahannya laki2 yg yg pernah kencan dengannya pasti mati atau celaka makanya ia disebut black widow.
paul sahabat karib mantan tunangannya, yg menurut torie membencinya dan menyebabkan todd meninggalkannya, datang menjadi pengacaranya dari tuduhan pembunuh mantan tunangannya, dan menyelamatkan hidupnya, dan ternyata keduanya saling tertarik sejak 11 tahun yg lalu wow..! tahulah akhirnya keduanya terlibat percintaan dan semakin tegang karena selalu diburu pembunuh yg menginginkan kematian mereka berdua

Dark and Deadly by Jeanne Adams – weak 3* - 2.19
I loved Dark and Dangerous by this author, so I was glad to pick this one up, but it was a disappointment. The love/hate/love relationship between Tori & Paul verged on the childish at times. Tori’s emotional growth seemed to be stuck at late-teen level, although what happened to her in college helps account for some of that. The stalker aspect – something happens to every man who gets close to Tori – was well done, and there were plenty of clues to lead the reader to the stalker, although the ‘reasoning’ behind the behavior wasn’t as easy to figure out.
This is really a 2.5*, but rating just two stars didn’t seem right, so I upped it to a weak 3*

Don't bother with this book - its fluff. The characters (Paul/Tori) are just silly. However don't discount this author from this book. Having read Deadly Little Secrets first I was anxious to read more from this author. Was shocked when I read Dark and Deadly. Maybe Jeanne Adams first book here was just that, a beginning. The next book Dark and Dangerous was very good, great plot and characters. It was almost like a different author than this book. By the time she wrote Deadly Little Secrets she hit a definite home run.

I really liked this book. I bought it at a Goodwill and didn't really expect much, but I read this book in 24 hours. I really liked the lead male, Paul, alot. The romance was perfect, but the suspense was a little lacking. It was there, just more focused on the romance aspect I felt. It was still done pretty well though, with some interesting characters. I was hooked within the first few chapters, and just flew through this book!

I had a hard time putting this down, I had to see what was going to happen next. I always love hunting for the clues and trying to figure out who the bad guy is, and this book gave me many opportunities!
It was a nice break from the paranormal I'm usually immersed in. May have to check out her first book.

baca novel ini kya nonton film2 Hollywood.. ^--^ suspense-nya berasa, romance jg lumayan.. cuma gw dr awal2 udah bs nebak villain-nya.. ;) penulisnya yg kurang lihai atau gw yg emang bakat jd detektif yaaa?? huahahahaha..

I picked up this book because I really enjoyed another book by this author. This book fell flat by comparison. Felt all over the place, and it was clear who the villain was as soon as the character was introduced. No suspense.

Torie is dumped on her wedding day and it's all Paul Jameson's fault. Now, years later, Tori's ex-fiance is dead. Quite a little page turner. Keeps you going to the end.

A fun quick read - the killer is obvious so the suspense comes from wondering what his next move is - the secondary characters were not believable but it didn't take away the fun for me.
