Former Navy SEAL Wyatt Sorensen should be on a HERO Force mission hunting down a notorious criminal in the mountains of Colorado. Teslyn must convince Wyatt of her innocence, even with the forces of evil in hot pursuit. Sparks fly between them as they unravel the web of lies surrounding Ivy, but when the HERO Force mission in Colorado goes horribly awry, can Wyatt forgive himself for coming to Teslyn's aid and sending a teammate in his place?

5 starts in the sense of it s a great story!!! I do think it could have been better though - it seemed rushed at certain parts. I wish the author had wrote more. I would have preferred a longer story. But again, great content!

My first time reading this author, and her style fits right into the Susan Stoker world.

Teslyn has done it all right, got herself out of a terrible upbringing, worked hard to make a successful future for herself. But a phone call changes it all in a minute. Danger lurks in the ones she left behind due to her mother's continuing bad choices. Before she knows it, she is in trouble as well.

Calling the only one she trusts, Wyatt is sent to help. Not sure he is helping an innocent, and one he is attracted to, only ads to the angst. The suspense, the tension, all make for a great read.

Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

Just when Teslyn thinks that she is starting a new chapter to her life she receives a call that changes her future and everything she knew about her childhood. When she returns home she is targeted for a crime that she did not do. Wyatt is about to start a mission that he was preparing for when he gets the call from Teslyn. There is suspense and a quick connection between the MMC and FMC. This special ops romance is a fast read and really enjoyed it.

This was such an exciting book. Wyatt is a very serious soldier and takes his responsibilities gravely. Teslyn has had such a difficult childhood. To find out she has a five year old sister, Ivy, living in the same way is difficult for her. There is a lot of tense moments. Tons of angst. It was a high octane ride.

Teslyn escaped from her less than idyllic childhood. She has reinvented herself and made her way in the world. But a late night call from her mother sends her into a panic. She has a baby sister and they all may be in danger due to her mothers crappy choices in life.

As she arrives at her former trailer park home she finds the trailer in flames and her baby sister clearly terrified. She does the one thing she knows is right - she calls her best friends partner for help. He's off on a mission but sends help her way in the shape of Wyatt.

Wyatt isn't happy at missing out on an important mission but Ghost is family and he'd do anything for family. But the more he learns about the circumstances the more he worries that he's about to help the guilty party!

Wyatt and Teslyn are sparking off each other from the get-go but he's worried about her motives and her clear estrangement from her family. Ivy is a complete charmer and it was heartbreaking to read how self-sufficient this 5yr old was!

There are plenty of strands of the story to keep you interested and sadly not all the characters you meet/hear about make it to the end of the book. The interplay between Wyatt and Teslyn is beautiful and Ivy has a healthy attitude to her newly found sister after her hesitant start. I'll be more than happy to read more in this universe!

This was my first book from Amy Gamet. The plot is interesting and the characters should be sympathetic enough but I didn’t get into the story.

Started out ok but I thought the insta-love came at a really inappropriate time & story resolved abruptly at the end. This is the second book I've read by this author. They are just ok. Nothing memorable, nothing to draw me back to read further books.

This devastating novel highlights the worst of humanity. When addiction takes hold of a person, they lose their basic humanity, even to the extent of using their children to their own ends. Teslyn made her escape over a decade before receiving a frantic phone call from her mother. She would rather avoid speaking to her, but when her mother throws in that she has a baby sister and begs her to take care of Ivy, Teslyn loses no time in racing to the trailer park her mother calls home. Struggling with her own past and the ever-present nightmares, she will not allow her baby sister to suffer on her own. Finding the trailer up in flames, Teslyn also finds her little sister who has miraculously managed to escape. For a five-year-old, Ivy has a remarkable sense of self-preservation and warns her older sister that she cannot allow the police to find them. With no other options available Teslyn phones her friend whose boyfriend is a Navy SEAL, and he in turn asks a buddy to look out for the girls. Wyatt is torn apart as he is fully committed to the operation being undertaken by his SEAL brothers, but when Ghost asks him to take care of the sisters, he cannot continue on the path he is following, This novel is well-written and suspenseful and kept me on the edge of my seat as Wyatt and the sisters make their escape and have to adopt different strategies to avoid capture. Teslyn realizes that if she wants to be free and to take on the guardianship of Ivy, she has to discover the truth, even if it means exposing herself to danger. The novel, fortunately, comes to a successful conclusion, but not without some sadness. The plot is good and kept my attention throughout and although part of a series is nevertheless a standalone. I received a copy of this action romance as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Teslyn was raised by a neglectful, drug-addicted woman who barely ever noticed her. Therefore, once she leaves home, she has nothing to do with her mother who only ever calls her for money. Now that she is about to buy her own home, her mother calls her for help. Someone is trying to kill her, and she needs Teslyn to safely take care of Ivy, her unknown, five year old sister.

When Teslyn arrives at her mother’s trailer, it is completely in flames, and her mother is dead. When she finds her sister is safe, she quickly steals her away to hide her from her mother’s killer. Meanwhile, her mother’s killer has told the police that Teslyn killed her mother and kidnapped her sister. They are now searching to arrest Teslyn and “recover” her sister.

On the other hand, Wyatt and his Hero Force team are preparing to leave for an extremely dangerous mission. Their assignment is to capture a notorious human trafficker and set free their latest victims. However, Wyatt is sidetracked by a message from a very close Delta Force friend. He needs Wyatt to find and protect Teslyn who is in serious danger. Without much thought, Wyatt leaves his Hero Force team help her.

While they are running for their lives, Wyatt is extremely troubled. He is unsure whether he can actually trust in Teslyn’s innocence. Plus, he knows that, if he helps her, he will be abetting a criminal. He also feels very guilty that he abandoned his team when they badly needed him for a very dangerous mission.

This book is an exciting page-turner with a complex plot that contains riveting suspense and non-stop action. Plus, the author skillfully keeps us guessing how Teslyn and Wyatt can manage their feelings as they safely evade the police and the killer and clear their names.

This is an emotionally charged story with just the right amount of suspense.

Teslyn and her mother have a difficult relationship. They have been estranged since Teslyn left home at the age of sixteen after practically raising herself while living with a drug addicted mother. She only hears from her mother when she needs money. This time it is different. She receives a frantic call from her mother asking her to take care of her 5 year old sister if anything happened to her. Teslyn didn’t even know that the child existed. When Teslyn arrives at her mother’s trailer park home, she finds it engulfed in flames with her mother inside and her little sister hiding behind a shed. She takes little Ivy and flees, fearing that she will be accused of setting the fire.

Wyatt (Bulldog) is a former Navy SEAL now working for HERO Force, a group of men who take on the most difficult and dangerous missions. He is set to go on one of those missions when he receives a call from a HERO teammate, Ghost, asking him to protect Teslyn and her little sister. Wyatt has spent months preparing for the mission, but can’t refuse Ghost’s request so he asks another teammate to take his place on the mission and goes to meet Teslyn

This fast-moving story captured my attention from the first chapter and kept me reading until the end. I couldn’t put it down. I was torn between wanting to know how the story ended and not wanting it to end.

This is the first book by this author that I have read, but it won’t be the last. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the HERO series. Ms. Gamet is definitely going to be an author that I follow.

Guarded by the SEAL BY Amy Gamet
H.E.R.O. Force

Choices…sometimes we choose and sometimes someone else chooses for us…
Living with the aftermath of the choice is not always easy but…
We can’t go back in time and choose differently and…
If given the option to do so…would we?

This was a book that took me away and let me forget my life as I stepped into the tense situation Wyatt, Teslyn and Ivy faced in this story.

What I liked:
* Teslyn: survivor, difficult backstory, finally free and thriving, caring, supportive, may have PTSD, protective, strong, responsible
* Wyatt: ex-Navy SEAL, works with H.E.R.O. Force, team player, strong, lethal, protective, dependable, had issues with his father
* Ivy: five years old, living in a difficult situation, suddenly orphaned, on the run with her sister Teslyn, adds to the story
* That the outcome of choices made can have a huge impact on lives and the fallout can be huge
* The way Teslyn stepped up to take care of Ivy
* The chemistry between Wyatt and Teslyn, Wyatt’s patience, and the way the two seemed to want what was best for the other
* Seeing some of the H.E.R.O. team and also the wisdom Ghost shared with Wyatt near the end of the story
* The mystery solved regarding who was behind the murder of the mother of Teslyn and Ivy

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Knowing that the homelife and mothering Ivy and Teslyn grew up in is all too common in real life

Did I enjoy this book – yes
Would I read more in this series – definitely

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the ARC – this is my honest review.

Wyatt has spent months training and preparing for a mission with his HERO Force team so when he gets a phone call from a woman asking for help, his first inclination is to tell her ‘NO’. But when she mentions Ghost’s name, he knows he can’t turn her down, even if he has to send someone else in his place on the mission.

Teslyn McGregor has spent the last years of her life rebuilding herself from the bottom up, placing as much distance between her and her alcoholic mother, so when Mom calls, asking for help and mentions a baby sister she didn’t even know about, she finds herself sucked back into the life she tries so hard to break away from.

Danger lurks around every corner, especially when the good guys are under the control of the man causing all the trouble. Who to trust? Who will help? A truce has to first be called between Wyatt and Teslyn before they can work together and find out who killed her mother and who wants a 5-year-old girl killed.
This story tugged at my heartstrings from the very first page. Packed with emotion, danger, and suspense, you’ll find yourself pulled deeper and deeper into the story. Amy Gamet and her HERO Force books are so packed with energy and action, I hate to put them down until I’ve read the whole story. The members of HERO team always have each other’s back and they won’t rest until they’ve successfully accomplished their mission. They are the best of the best. I love how she reunites characters from previous stories in her latest books. Ms. Gamet reigns supreme when it comes to military/romance/suspense stories.

Teslyn McGregor is in trouble! A close friend tells her to call Wyatt ‘Bulldog’ Sorensen, one of the HERO Force men. Wyatt has an important mission to take down a human trafficker and he has been researching and planning this mission forever and is ready to go. When the call comes in from Teslyn, he’s uncertain what to do. His friend ‘Ghost’ wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important, but his team will be a man down if he goes. He decides to go and help her and have one of the other men take his place on the mission.

With someone else in his place on the mission and a bad feeling in his gut, he rushes off to Mississippi to find Teslyn and her sister Ivy and help them. What he learns on the way doesn’t help his trust in Teslyn, but they end up running from law enforcement chasing after them for murder, arson, and kidnapping.

I really like the way Ms. Gamet weaves the story with Teslyn, Wyatt, and Ivy. How they get to know each other, the chase they find themselves on, and the attraction they feel. I felt an immediate connection to Teslyn and what she endured in her childhood. Wyatt is a confirmed bachelor for life, but something about Teslyn and Ivy has him rethinking that stance. The action and suspense in the book kept me turning the pages quickly to find out what happens. If you’ve read any of the HERO Force books this actually happens before Stranded with a SEAL. I received an arc of this book, and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Once again, this wonderful storyteller delivers another winner that grabs the reader’s attention from the first page to the last.
This time the story belongs to Wyatt Sorensen, a former Navy SEAL and now a member of HERO Force. He’s ready to go on a dangerous mission in Colorado to finally get a human trafficker.
But all that changes when his friend GHOST asks him to guard a woman in need. Torn between the dangerous mission, his replacement, whose wife is pregnant, and the favor GHOST requests, he goes against his gut and leaves to find Teslyn McGregor.
Teslyn grew up in a trailer with a mother that was an addict and a drunk. A woman she’s been estranged from. But when her mother calls her to let her know someone wants her dead and the five year old sister she never knew of was also in danger, Teslyn drives to the bayou.
From that moment on Teslyn’s and Wyatt’s lives would be changed forever.
This was an engaging story filled with suspense, romance, is also at times heartbreaking. It was also a reminder of a couple of realities. One, the existence of human trafficking not only in other countries, but also in the USA. Also, the fact that the experiences we have as a child will always impact the adult one becomes.
Kudos to the author for another wonderful story.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

Teslyn McGregor receives an ominous call from her mother. She has not seen her mother in years as her mother only calls to ask for money, but this time her mother is scared, and in trouble. As Teslyn rushes home, she arrives to find her mother’s trailer in flames and calls 911. As she waits for the fire department, she sees a young girl hiding nearby and learns that the girl is her five-year-old sister, Ivy. Her call for help is answered by Wyatt “Bulldog” Sorenson, a former SEAL and currently working with HERO Force. Wyatt was set to go on an important mission, but takes the call to assist her. When he arrives, law enforcement is after her for kidnapping and arson…can he trust her? She aggravates him and arouses him at the same time, but he swore to protect her and Ivy. As he deals with the results of the mission, his team slowly uncovers the twisted mystery surrounding Teslyn’s mother and her birth father. The action, suspense and intimate romance in this story led me to a rush to reach the ending. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Finding love on the run…

Surprises and secrets were taunting both Wyatt and Teslyn as they were thrown together in a desperate search for safety. Wyatt trusted his brothers in arms but Teslyn was an unknown and he didn’t trust her. Not surprising when her story was challenged at every turn. Only the word of Ghost would have him abandon his mission and go on what could be a wild goose chase. For Teslyn, the shocks kept coming and he made her feel safe, if only he would stay…

This was a fast-paced suspenseful romance which tugged my heart in so many ways. Teslyn’s incredibly hard upbringing and relationship with her mom led her to this dangerous moment. The complex emotions she was dealing with, both past and present, weighed against the need to trust Wyatt with her many secrets. If they stuck together, they could make it and that journey was compact but powerful…

This book is written in the Susan Stoker book world and it fit right in with great characters and an exciting plot. My first read by this author but, luckily, she has many more!

*I happily reviewed this story

Teslyn is having a day like any other when she receives a call from her estranged mother Marilyn. But this is not the usual financial request: Marilyn shares that Teslyn has a 5 year old sister Ivy and she fears for their lives. Teslyn rushes to help them but it is too late; all she can do is save her sister and run.

Wyatt is about to leave on an important mission when a brother in arms reaches out to request help hiding Teslyn and Ivy. After dropping everything, their lives are intertwined together as they rush to work out who Ivy's mysterious and powerful father is and why he wants to clean he slate...

I enjoyed this story and in particular, the way the story took its time to come together. There was less spice than I was anticipating but the scenes were appropriate for the story. My only concern was how quickly the final action scene concluded. It felt like this had been rushed and many questions were left unanswered.

Ultimately, I did enjoy the book and will be reading the rest of the series!

Wyatt Sorensen, a former Navy SEAL, is part of the HERO Force who is due to leave on a mission to capture a criminal currently is the Colorado mountains. That is until he receives a call from Teslyn McGregor telling him Ghost said he would help her. As he had to choose, he would have continued with his mission, but he owed Ghost so gave his spot on the mission and left to help a woman that he had no idea who she was or the problem. He tried to contact Ghost, but he wasn’t available. Then trouble hit full force. As he goes to the safe place, he told her to go to, he hears the AMBER alert about arson and kidnapping and when he gets there, he sees the vehicle that was described. From there she has to prove to him her innocence as they try to stay ahead of the enemy. She had just learned she had a five-year-old sister she knew nothing about. As he tries to keep them alive and safe, he is hit with the news that the mission went horribly wrong. So much to this story that is emotional, betrayal, and mystery.

I think I’ve been with this series from the very beginning. That’s made this a special treat to come back and discover what happened before the beginning. It’s not exactly a direct line to the events in the first book of the series, though. This book is about a mission that took place at the same time and how the hand of Fate moved pieces on the chessboard to put people in different places than they thought they’d be. I loved Teslyn and Ivy. The resilience these two possess is awe-inspiring. Wyatt took me a little bit to warm up to just because of how surly he starts this book. I loved seeing Teslyn and Wyatt learn to trust and open up to one another. And the drama and tension are top notch. I was quickly hooked and anxious to find out what would happen next. There’s a twist at the end that I really should have seen coming, but it caught me completely off guard. I feel like I need to re-read this series now that I’ve been reminded of how much I love it.

I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of Guarded by the Seal through Net Galley . This story is Suspenseful from start to finish . Former Navy Seal Wyatt Sorensen works for Hero Force when his buddy Ghost asks him to help and protect Teslyn McGregor and her little sister he drops from his current mission to step in . Wyatt is worried that Teslyn is not innocent when he finds an ember alert and her car matches the description . Teslyn hasn't had much to do with her mother for many years and is shock to find she has a young sister . When she arrives to help them things have went terribly wrong and Teslyn seeks protection and help to clear it all up . Unfortunately she also has to prove her innocence to Wyatt and try to keep their chemistry contained . This story is intense and intriguing and steamy just fantastic .I highly recommend taking the time to read .

This is the first book that I have read by Amy Gamet and it certainly will not be the last. Once I started reading I just could not put it down. I read it in less than a day.

Teslyn didn't have an easy childhood since her mother did drugs and sold herself for money. Teslyn had to fend for herself from an early age. As she becomes an adult she doesn't speak to her Mom much. She is shocked to receive a call that her Mom is in trouble and that she has a five year old sister.

When Teslyn gets there she finds the trailer burning to the ground and her sister hiding where she had to climb under the trailer to get out or she would have died in the fire as well.

Now Teslyn needs to find out why her mother was killed and if someone was trying to kill her sister too.

Awesome book. I think you will enjoy it as much as I did

I didn't know what to really expect from this book when I started it but it had me gripped right away!
The characters were amazing and I just wanted Ivy to get a better life so I am so glad it worked out for her in the end.
The plot was intense and always left me wanting to read the next chapter to find out what happens next. Some difficult topics are discussed in this book but they were well written in a respectful way.
The romance in this book was my favourite part as it was not the full focus of the book but was just enough that it did not take away from everything else that was happening.
In all, I really enjoyed this book and am looking forward to read more books from this series🩶

Wyatt is ready to get this mission they have worked for so long finished. Right when it time to start to go he gets a call from a woman that needs help. He couldn’t say no since his friend told her to call him. Teslyn had no idea she had a little sister and know she is traveling to see her and her mother. Once she enters the run down part of town, where she lived with her mom so many years ago, things fall apart. She is now on the run with her sister trying to stay safe. Will the stranger Wyatt be able to keep them safe and help solve who did this to her family? I was given an ARC through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Two places at once

Teslyn is in trouble and we quickly see a murder, arson and a kid scared. Calling her friends boyfriend for help gets us to the Susan Stoker character Truck who is one of my favorites! He sends his friend Wyatt and Wyatt is great. He is military, honorable, smart and caring. The problem is clear very quickly as Ivy knows what happened, but the details and how it all played out, along with details from Wyatt’s team and mission made for a quick and intense read! Great ending with emotional closure for all the main characters. Good introduction to other team members which has me interested in reading more!

Guarded by the SEAL is a fast paced romantic suspense.
This is my first read by Amy Gamet.
Teslyn gets a desperate call from her mother and rushes home where she finds her home in flame and finds out she has a much younger half sister!
She calls a friend for help, and Wyatt "Bulldog" is sent to help her.
Wyatt is not exactly happy to be missing out on a mission, but when his friend calls him to help someone he can't say no. He does not trust Teslyn but still helps her and her younger sister Ivy.
This was a great read, seeing these two come together.

When Wyatt receives a request from Ghost, he doesn’t hesitate to go to the aid of Teslyn, who ends up being accused of murder and kidnapping her little sister. The three of them are on the run, evading the authorities and trying not to get caught until the truth is exposed…..can they figure it out before it’s too late.
A good read with suspense and good characters. Wyatt was the broody alpha man and Teslyn was a survivor who would do anything for her sister and protects her with all that she is.

Loved this!

This has an energy about it that comes right off the page. The author has imbued her characters with personality, not just characteristics. They come alive and live for you as you read. You feel their pain, their ecstacy, and their peace. The tension level Ms. Gamet maintains throughout the story is amazing. Here is a trio on the run, and she manages to add highs and lows to this to releave your taughtly strung nerves as you do with a muscle in exercise. You become totally invested in the characters. It's not called HERO Force for nothing. Recommended.
