An explicit collection of young adult erotica, Boy Crazy explores in heady detail the “first time:” the first time feeling lustful toward another boy, the first time falling into bed with a peer, the first time discovering love with another young man. This youthful collection relishes the thrill of being crazy for a certain boy, for a moment or for a lifetime. In Jere M. Fishback’s “A Beautiful Motorcycle,” a young man shares a hotel room with his sister’s boyfriend and experiences a whole new kind of room service. Guitar lessons give way to instructions of a more amorous variety in L.A. Field’s “Summertime Blues.” Mesmerized by two hot young bikers, Warden finds himself taking a ride on the wild side in Jeffrey Rounds’ “This Is Not Your Country.” These and other stories of sexual awakening vividly evoke the trembling, heart-pounding, sweaty-palmed excitement of the first time.
i read a lot of books. i review many of them. i edit many anthologies. i edit technical writing so it reads more like real english. i live on a small island with a man and a dog (tiger-lily, r.i.p). once upon a time, i was a bookseller.
Sometimes I see a book at the library that is so shocking that (purely for research purposes) I am forced to take it home, and read it very carefully. I can confirm that this anthology is as shocking as one might infer from its title and cover.
There are a number of stories here; in some of them young men seem to greatly enjoy their unspeakable pursuits. In other stories the young men even fall in love!! With each other!!
All in all most disturbing. I have been shaken to my very core. I don't know why I do this to myself.
I've been trying to give anthologies a go for a while in the m/m genre. So far, I've only been met with disappointment. However, Boy Crazy for some reason really shook me to my core. Every single story was precious, special, unique, in its own way. Some were sweet and fluff, some full of ANGST like you can't even imagine and a few that were downright heartbreaking. I wanted to quit during the , but I trudged on and was rewarded with the best ending of them all.
Def. a 4.5 stars that I'll be putting on repeat on the audiobook loop of repeats.
This is the first book I have read by this amazing author. The sizzling anthology covers fantastic first times. You can find quite a bit of this authors work on book share.
This is about a 3.5 but I rounded up. Like most anthologies there are some stories I really liked and some I really disliked. I liked more than I disliked!
