Marisa Chenery was always a lover of books, but after reading her first historical romance novel she found herself hooked. Having inherited a love for the written word, she soon started writing her own novels.
She writes young adult and romance books.
Marisa lives in Ontario, Canada, with her husband, four children, four grandchildren (she's a young grandma at fifty), and five rabbits.
Overall the story and characters of Taryn’s Wolf are enjoyable, but the way the plot falls apart due to lapses in logic was very disappointing at multiple points. This story has potential to be quite good and should be reworked to correct the gaps in logic.
What Is It About: Taryn goes to Wulf's Den to sell wine from her own winery. She meets Wade, Beowulf's brother, and is instantly attracted to him. Wade is a werewolf and he knows the instant that he smells Taryn that she is his mate. He can't help but come on too strong the instant that he meets her but because of her past, Taryn rejects him. Wade follows Taryn to her winery to slowly woo her and get her to like him before he reveals that he's a werewolf. Unfortunately, it's much more complicated than that as Wade discovers another werewolf watching the property and watching Taryn.
What I Liked and Didn't: Plot-wise, it was incredibly dramatic. While the relationship is one of the biggest parts, it isn't too dramatic. I think that my biggest issue with the plot was how it's kind of similar to the first book: A werewolf watching and targeting the girl to use as revenge against someone close to her, not only the discovery of werewolves but of a secret family relative that is also one. At least in this book the relative doesn't want to mate with Taryn like Royce wanted to in the first book. The fight at the end was pretty exciting, I just didn't really get Lars' actions too much. Character-wise, sure Wade and Taryn were nice but they weren't as good as Beowulf and Roxie. They didn't have the humour to it that the first book had. It was nice in the relationship that Wade had to convince and woo Taryn but I think that werewolf romances are one of the times when instant-love is okay but they were pretty sweet together.
Final Thoughts: I was a bit on the fence about whether to give a two star or three star rating but I think that actually writing this review has helped me settle on a two star rating. I can't score this book the same of the first one when I preferred the characters much more and the plot was more original. Would I recommend it? Sure, this is one of Miss Chenery's better werewolf romances. Will I be carrying on the series? Definitely.
Better than the previous, but there’s still some problems with the story.
The premise is great, but the actual scenes leave me feeling gypped. Also there’s two other series similar. One that has a bar full of shape shifters (Shifter’s Unbound) and another that takes place in a Napa vineyard (can’t remember).
I like how Wade tries to be easy on her, but he seems to be more bark than bite. Says he want to protect her, but sits back and lets others do the fighting. Like he was just added so there could be a romance involved. He should have told her about werewolves sooner, the way she finds out is more realistic. People just don’t hide that perfectly as you see in other books.
I feel like Taryn has a closer connection to Roxie than Wade. It’s going to be an interesting dynamic now that the two brothers now both have mates.
Though I like the way Taryn’s dad is in the picture, it felt odd to me have him more prominent to the rescue that her mate. Wade seemed to be taking things way too calmly for a mated wolf.
Quick Thoughts: 1)I have family in Napa and the vineyards are amazing. Except I have to see all those poor grape vines tied up in rows and forced to produce. Grape slavery!
2)I loved learning about some of how wine of made. I knew some but this provided a closer look at what the maker has to do.
3)You can’t just plunge a needle into the arm and draw out blood. You have to use a vein.
Fave scenes: Wade’s breakfast, the geek slap and Roxy ending the fight.
As Taryn is leaving Wulf’s Den she meets the owners brother. Wade catches her scent as he comes up from the cellar and finds that he must find and claim his mate. Taryn is not an easy catch and it seems that an evil from her past is trying to rear its ugly head.
Once again I was drawn into the magical world of Marisa Chenery’s wolves. I loved Taryn’s Wolf right from the start. Taryn is a great woman. I loved how feisty and secure she is. She stands up for herself and never backs down. Wade is a great man who shows Taryn just how much he cares for her by letting her take control especially when he learns of her past. The two make a wonderful couple. I loved the banter not only between Wade and Taryn but all the others as well. Some of it even had me laughing out loud.
Taryn’s Wolf is filled with great characters. Not only did I love the main characters in this book but all of the secondary characters made a big impression as well. I would love to find out more about Drake and Braedan. Filled with just the right amount of romance and action this book is a wonderful continuation of this series and I will definitely be looking to visit Wulf’s Den again.
I loved the first book in this series so I had to read the next one.
Taryn has been through a lot even some things that she can't remember. She just knows that some of the dreams she has comes true. She wants to make sure that the vineyard that her uncle left her makes it. So she goes to the Wulf Den to get Beowulf to buy some of her wine. She wasn't looking for anything else.
Wade smelled Taryn as soon as he walked in and knew she was his mate. Now he just needs to get her to give him a chance. Seems like Wade didn't follow the same advice that he gave his brother when he found his mate.
I liked this book and some of it even made me laugh. Taryn seems to be a woman that knows how to take care of herself and when she finds out the secrets of her past she sits back and thinks before she does anything drastic.
Taryn owns a winery left to her by her uncle and is trying her best to keep it afloat, including trying to sell her wine to the club Wulf's Den. While there Wade gets a scent of her and knows she is his mate. But she is human and its not quite so easy. Of course he is not to be deterred. She doesnt know about werewolves but ends up having a lot more connections to them than she realizes. Kind of an odd beginning to their relationship and the foe in the story was kind of odd to me, personal to her yet not in some way. Maybe thats just me. Good story though, follows same kind of formula as first, but it works.

The second book in the series and Taryn shows up in Wulf's Den to introduce her wine while Wade is stacking shelves he comes up from the cellar and smells his mate Taryn. He runs after Taryn and well she is attracted to him but she finds the attraction very intimidating as Wade is too domineering. Wade regroups and drives to the winery to get to known Taryn better. It turns out that Taryn is part werewolf and meets her father Drake (now I really want to see a book about him) There is also old and crazy and has a problem with Drake. This book is very entertaining and I really enjoyed it. The end is the best though with what happens to Taryn.
The writing is good and smooth but it's all bit too fairytalish for my taste. Although bad things happen the problems are always solvable and the good always win no matter what.
I am regretting the fact that I never read this series First but I am glad I decided to finaly read it it is a fun and laughable series you are sure to enjoy
