Can a bad witch go good in thirteen steps? Not if Lucifer has his way with her!
A Tickle My Fantasy story.
Amy Atwood is a witch. Not the harm-none kind the Satan-worshipping, devil-made-me-do-it kind. But after catching Lucifer in a particularly wicked hex act with her goodie-two-shoes Wiccan sister, Amy does what every self-respecting witch would do. She pops a Dove chocolate in her mouth, ends her affair with the devil, and swears an oath never to use magic again.
She wants to be normal. Human. Even if it means no more fun and she s looking for a nice, normal guy to complement her new lifestyle. And ice-cream-loving firefighter Adam Foster looks like perfect hero material.
Lucifer, however, isn t about to be nice about letting her go. Stalked by Satan, manipulated by the angel Gabriel and surprised by Adam s true identity Amy finds herself up to her black hat in trouble of Biblical proportions "
USA TODAY Bestselling Author Misty Evans is celebrating her 100th published novel in 2025. She loves writing urban fantasy, paranormal romance, and mystery/suspense. Under her pen name, Nyx Halliwell, she also writes supernatural cozy mysteries.
When not reading or writing (which is most of the time), she enjoys music, movies, and hanging out with her husband, twin sons, and three spoiled rescue dogs. She’s a crafter at heart and has far too many projects to finish.
Witches Anonymous is a short story about a witch who is mad at Satan for cheating on her with her sister. It gets more complicated with her going to Witches Anonymous to get over Satan, meets a new guy, sister goes evil, Angel goes rogue and more. Interesting read.
'Witches Anonymous' is the first installment in the Witches Anonymous series by Misty Evans. If your in the mood for a hot, fast paced, light comedy then this is the novel for you. From page one I was drawn in and I couldn't get enough. First lines: -"In a room full of witches, you’d think I wouldn’t stand out. You’d be wrong."-
I really enjoyed Amy's character. She's a hard attitude witch that signed her soul over to the wrong side. She may be good, but she likes bad. And how could she not, when they look like Luc Does.
"...Devil standing in front of me. Tall, dark and sexy as hell, he was nevertheless too handsome for his own good. No visible horns or claws, but an insatiable hunger for all things denied him."
But thanks to him two timing with her sister, she's turning her life around. No more evil. No more devil. She's taking the steps to become good and it's not as easy as she thought. Thankfully, she'll have another handsome fellow to help her take her mind of such things. And Adam is hot, hot, hot. What she doesn't realize is he has a secret. His true identity is unique and really adds to the story.
I really enjoyed 'Witches Anonymous'. It was everything you'd want in a 109 page novel. I want more and I want it now!
2018 3rd re-read It's actually kind of weird to see how different some of these characters are in this book compared to the last book in the series. I actually forgot about some of this, like Adam and Gabriel's first appearance. Luc is still my favorite Lucifer out there though.
I really enjoyed this book! First for the excellent story, the characters that are fantastic described and for the hilarious thing to create WA, AA for witches. I really want to follow this witch and her ex boyfriend that happens to be Lucifer the fallen Angel aka Satan. I giggled a lot of times during the reading.
A very cute and funny paranormal romance short story which features Lucifer and a very small part for the Archangel Gabriel. It was originally published as part of the Tickle My Fantasy anthology. At 88 pages, it is a very quick read; I read it in about an hour.
Amy, "Not one of those goodie-two-shoes Wiccans. No, I’m a Satan-worshiping, Devil-made-me-do-it witch" type witch, is now attending WA (Witches Anonymous) because Lucifer has betrayed her with her sister. She's being good now, normal, hmmm who'd of thought it possible? But she'll do almost anything for a Dove chocolate. She only has 3 weaknesses — "sinful men, dark chocolate and designer shoes".
Luc — Satan, Lucifer, the Devil and a host of other names — is trying to seduce Amy back into his arms and the dark side. He tells her he loves her. But he's the most famous tempter and liar of all ... right? He doesn't really ... nah. She's doing a good job of resisting him. Especially once Adam comes into her life.
Adam, Captain of the firefighter squad, hmm ... good looking and a fireman too. He really likes Amy but a) he doesn't know she's a witch and b) he doesn't want to be 'rebound guy'. Could he be the original Adam of Adam and Eve fame? No wonder Luc warned her away from a date with him to the fire station Halloween costume party.
A sampling of the humor: "Just so you know … the Devil does not wear Prada. For business, he wears an Armani suit The Donald would kill for."
"...in my experience, men would believe anything you told them if it meant they’d get laid."
At the end there is an excerpt from ParaMatch.com by MK Mancos, The Ghost Shrink, the Accidental Gigolo & the Poltergeist Accountant by Vivi Andrews and Carolina Wolf by Sela Carsen.
Warning Spoiler Alert!!! This has an implied "relationship continues" ending instead of a true HEA ending. Sorta like a couple walking off into the sunset, you assume but it is not stated.
What's a bad witch to do after she catches her lover - who happens to be Lucifer - making out with her sister? In Amy Atwood's case, she decides to go good, and she starts attending Witches Anonymous meetings. She even meets a sexy firefighter who gets her heat level up. But Lucifer is still after her, trying to woo her with the one item he knows she finds irresistible: Dove chocolates. And her skanky sister appears. Now that she's gotten Amy's man (or so she thinks), she wants her Manolos and her spells. Then the Angel Gabriel joins the mix - only he doesn't seem very angelic. Amy's problem is that since she's given up magic, she can't keep them away. It's not easy being a good witch.
This was a fun and breezy book. The author did a great job of humanizing Lucifer. All the characters were great, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Amy Atwood is a witch. She is now attending WA (Witches Anonymous) because Lucifer has betrayed her with her sister. Now she wants to be normal. Human. Even if it means no more fun...
Lucifer wants Amy back and he isn’t taking no for an answer. To make matters worse, the angel Gabriel is now on Amy’s case with an agenda as his own.
This was a quick, fun and sexy read!
All in all, this was a truly fun book to read. It wasn’t too heavy, it wasn’t full of cliche romance, and the characters are each truly unique in their own way.
This book is for anyone who wants to fall out of their day to day problems and into a wonderful world filled with equally wonderful people and some of the best laugh out loud funny moments I've had in a very long time. Don't pass up Witches Anonymous by Misty Evans!!!
I don't have any issue with fantasy books and I have been reading the witch PI series by Adele Abbott and the Darcy Sweet who sees ghosts series etc but it drives me mad when we get the devil and angels and it is all well to be technical dualistic and this conflict, and the devil is this cool dude blah blah. It's just bonkers and just wrong. Have witches and other fantasy types that aren't real and call them aliens or something but not angels and demons. Anyway despite the many failings in this short read I did complete it, I hope there is an attempt to have more world building in it, because the series that I mentioned earlier are all about the building of the world around them making the books better, this one, well so far, not so much. I'll hold out for more and see how we go.
The Devil went to Eden…again! Sounds like the start of a joke right? Well the joke is on Amy,a witch. She thought she was in love but decides to end it. Yeah right! Not happening even she even stopped practicing magic. I found it quirky and comical. A nice quick read with some laugh out loud zingers.
Interesting story and love triangle. Bad witch wants to be good but the devil wants her back..and then there is Adam as in Adam and eve who needs redemption and also wants Amy.
When my lovelies at MVF asked if I’d like to do reviews for new authors who submit their novels to us for review, I jumped on the chance! I love reading the works of author’s whom I’ve never read before! It’s like making a new friend and you never know what kind of little jewels you will unearth when diving into an unknown book by an author you’ve never read before! And very fortunate for me, my very first book, which is Witches Anonymous by Misty Evans, has quite the delicious little summary that jumped out at me and gave me a shiver of excitement!

So, once I did my house hold duties and settled in for the evening, I opened the new book on my computer and settled in to read. The first thing I noticed was that Evan’s main character, Amy Atwood, must be my long lost sister or something because my mind works in much the same way, so I immediately relate to her. With the exception of witchiness. I’m not very witchy…which is unfortunate sometimes.
The author easily draws the reader in with her humor and simple way of stating the obvious, and the men in her story? They’re hot stuff. At first, I didn’t know how Amy could possible choose between the hotness of Luc and Adam, because they both are absolutely delicious and just ooze sex appeal. I mean it, they literally ooooooooze it, especially Luc, but then again, what else would you expect from the Devil? But what is especially delicious about this book is how Luc seems to find himself in less than ideal situations when he tries to drag Amy back down into the pits of hell with him and seeing the Devil in less than pleasant circumstances, or seeing him out of sorts? Hilarious.
As we’re getting to know Amy, and she’s getting to know Adam while Luc harrasses her, we also find ourselves introduced to Emilia, Amy’s older sister and Luc’s very jealous new lover. She’s a former “goody-goody” who was no where near the accomplished witch that Amy is, but apparently things with her aren’t as they seem either. Emilia has stepped up to the plate, challenged her sister in an effort to eliminate any obstacle in her way of securing her place as Lucifer’s main squeeze, stealing her Amy’s spell book and threatening her friends in the process. She’s another intriguing character to top the list of
Evan’s plot is unique, even in the vast array of plots in the paranormal romance genre. Though all romance plots seem to center around a battle between good and evil, they don’t usually feature two of the main biblical figures as they’re main characters (and no, I’m not speaking of God, or Jesus as one of those characters, you’ll just have to read to find out.) I found the plot refreshing and witty and just all around enjoyable. I also loved the fact that this is the first book in a continuing series, and that it’s short, sweet and super easy to read.
All in all, this was a truly fun book to read. It wasn’t too heavy, it wasn’t full of cliche romance, and the characters are each truly unique in their own way. Lucifer isn’t anything like what you would assume, Adam is just everything a hot fireman should be, the other witches attending Amy’s Witches Anonymous meetings are wary and less than welcoming, which sets the mood for potential drama, and Amy is a strong, female lead. She’s a woman who knows what she wants, and how to get it. She also stands by her guns. She swore to give up witchcraft, and she’s trying as hard as she can to not break her word, which I think really says a lot about her character. Also, the plot is refreshingly unique and fun! I’d highly suggest that if you want a fun, romantic read, this is the route to go!
Below is my rating of Witches Anonymous by Misty Evans. These are reflective strictly of my opinion of the novels I’ve read and reviewed, and are not necessarily reflective of the other staff members of MVF.

Witches Anonymous, by Misty Evans, is almost as deliciously tempting as the Dove chocolate square that the main character keeps promising herself if she manages to resist all of the other temptations that keep getting thrown her way. Poor Amy, most of us find Dove chocolate difficult enough to resist!
Amy Atwood is the witch in Witches Anonymous, and we meet her as she is about to attend her first meeting of the self-help group. Yes, WA is modeled on AA, complete with 12-step program. Amy used to be perfectly okay with being a real, honest-to-badness witch--up until she caught Lucifer with his devilish hands (and other body parts) all over her sister Emilia.
Until Amy caught them in the act, Emilia had always been the "good" witch, and Amy had always been the "bad" witch. Now the tables are turned. Emilia has turned to the dark side, and Amy has sworn off cursing and hexing and all spell casting. Because as everyone knows, one spell leads to another, and once you start down that slippery slope, it leads right back to having Lucifer in her bed, and Amy is through with him. If he wants Emilia, he can have Emilia. He only gets one sister. Period.
But at her first WA meeting, Amy meets Adam on her way in. Adam, tattooed, Harley-riding, Adam, looks like more than enough "bad boy" to keep Amy happy, even if he is only human.
But nothing is quite as simple as it seems. Adam really is Adam. As in Adam and Eve. That Adam. And the Archangel Gabriel has arranged for him to re-enact that original temptation, with Amy cast in the role of Eve. Gabe is hoping that Adam will resist this time, and that Gabe will get to play God in Eden, the revised edition. But Lucifer has other plans. You see, he really is in love with Amy, and he wants her back. Bad. But can a devil who truly loves actually be all bad?
And Amy's formerly goodie-two-shoes sister? She really is kind of a demon.
Escape Rating B-: Oooh this was fun! Witches Anonymous is mind candy of the purest form. Which is a really good thing. I giggled all through dinner reading it. This is a "put your ereader in a baggie and read in the bathtub" book. I liked Amy a lot. She's a fun character. I got less of a handle on Adam, or Luc. I was never quite sure how much Adam, the Harley-riding firefighter, knew about his role as Adam, the first man and possible resetter of the cosmic balance.
But I loved that Gabriel, the angel, was actually the bad guy and Lucifer was actually the good guy. Very cool.
Witch Amy Atwood isn’t your stereotypical Glinda the Good Witch. No, she’s a Satan-worshipping, wicked witch through and through, and is quite happy about it until she catches Lucifer in bed with her sister. Then it’s off to Witches Anonymous and a renouncing of her powers for Amy. When she meets sexy firefighter Adam Foster, Amy figures he’s a delicious compliment to her new, normal lifestyle.
But the devil doesn’t give up so easy. Lucifer wants Amy back and he isn’t taking no for an answer. To make matters worse, the angel Gabriel is now on Amy’s case with an agenda as his own. It’s all almost too much for a newly-reformed witch to bear and Amy only has until Halloween to figure a spell-less way to get herself out of trouble.
Spirited and fun, Witches Anonymous is like a breath of fresh air. It’s energetic, sharp, and, much like Amy’s beloved Dove chocolates, utterly delicious. Misty Evans has a lively voice that comes right off the page, giving her characters a spark I found truly enjoyable. I adored Amy from the very first page. Although she possesses magical powers, her attitude makes her easy to identify with. Her hero, Adam, is everything a hero worth sighing over should be. And Lucifer (or Luc, as he likes to be called), isn’t your average version of Satan. He’s seductive to the max and I must admit Ms. Evans made me feel a bit of sympathy for the devil. A fast-paced tale that is completely spellbinding, Witches Anonymous is not to be missed. Wickedly entertaining!
I loved this Novella! It’s cute, fun and sexy read. Amy decides to turn her life around when her man candy Lucifer makes his own decision to dip his pitchfork in the wrong girl. She drops magic and makes an oath to never use it again. But what’s a girl to do when Luc keeps using his Satan-ly charms to try and win her back after she meets the handsome, dark chocolate flakes in ice cream loving, firefighter Adam? Both are as delicious as the Dove chocolate she keeps in her pocket, but little does she know, what she decides could change the world… While at a Halloween party with Adam dressed in their fig leaves (yup), the angel Gabriel shows up and shit hits the fan and Amy has to decide if she’s on the side of the devil or the Angel Gabriel or maybe neither. The Characters are great! Amy is always making me laugh and watching her try to be the “normal” human she wants to be is entertaining. Lucifer, Luc, Satan, whichever you prefer to call him is sexy and funny and I loved watching him trying to win Amy back while getting in trouble with her witchy sister. Adam, oh Adam, can I just place a claim on him now?? He’s sexy, kind and gorgeous. Did I mention he’s drop dead sexy yet and the original man? I’d let him nibble on me any day! This is an awesome Novella and I’m headed out right now to go pick up the next Novella’s in the series! It is a must read!
This was a really fun novella! Smoking hot for a short read, but definitely grabbed my attention and the vice-like grip didn't let up until the very end! I devoured it! I wasn't sure what to expect going in. The premise really had me hooked when Misty asked me to review it and when I finally opened it up, I was beating myself over the head for not putting it on top of the pile.
There are some yummy guys in this novella. Adam and Luc (aka The Devil aka Lucifer). Two delicious men, opposites of each other. Adam is a scrumptious hero, while Luc is that bad boy that every girl dreams about hiding from daddy.
Yummy fictional men aside, the premise was fun. Amy is a witch who has decided to go on the straight and narrow ways and give up her spell casting ways. The meetings were really fun. Amy seems to be the only dark witch in the bunch, but I think it is definitely a great place to create some drama and tension! Highly recommend this and I hope to see more from Misty Evans!!
Amy Atwood sold her soul to the Devil a long time ago… But when she finds Lucifer seducing her sister, she decides to go “normal” cold turkey, and joins Witches Anonymous. Unfortunately, while her promise to never use witchcraft again is sincere, no one else seems to have a problem with trying to manipulate her into using her powers.
I loved how this book took a completely normal and almost mundane dynamic (sisters fighting over the same guy anyone?) and made it something unique and different – and paranormal! The characters are great, and the story is really quick. It’s only 100 pages but they’re all put to good use, which is nice. This is a super quick and fun read, I don’t want to say too much and spoil it, but I can tell you that I will be checking out the other books in this series because this was a great little book!
I feel nothing for this book. I have no connection with the characters, the plot is a joke and that's it. It leaves me cold. 1,5 stars because I don't think it was okay (that would mean I still had some fun reading this, or at least some feelings), but I do not not like it. I'm really wondering about all those good reviews. I normally even enjoy reading books that aren't really good, I'm easy to please. But I have no connection whatsoever with this book.
As I wrote in my review for the fifth and final book of the series: The whole series is a good read when you don't have much time and just want to read something insignificant. Maybe I'll like it more when I read it a second time some time in the future, I'll keep this series in mind for a light read to get away from everyday life sorrows.
I came across this via Felicia @ Geeky Blogger’s Book Blog (she gave it 3 stars). It was a quick read to a fault. While I enjoyed the overall storyline, I could help but finish it wishing I had more time to spend with the characters. I don’t want to go into the plot too much because even though it is fairly predictable I don’t want to give anything away.
I liked Amy and Luc and even Adam. Their interactions were funny and/or sweet, but again we spend too little time with them. And if you’re looking for heat, you won’t find it in this one.
I will say that it had a good overall message which I’ll include in the favorite quotes section even if it is borderline spoilerish.
This was a quick, fun and sexy read! I was aware that it was a novella before I started reading it so I was not expecting a lot of history on the characters. Ms. Evans easily draws the reader in with her humor and sexy men in the story, albeit one of which is the devil. All the characters were unique and fun in their own ways. The more I read the more I found myself wanting more. I highly recommend this book to those that are looking for a light, quick and truly entertaining read!
What a tantalizing taste of what is sure to be another amazing series. I adore Misty Evan's books but I haven't jumped into the Witches yet. When Amy turns her back on her evil magic she never imagines how hard it will be or all that she has coming into her life. Would you believe she is supposed to help Adam, yes THE Adam resist temptation when he gets a second chance. This is the ex-girlfriend of Satan! She is having enough trouble not using spells to clean her house! Of course things are not a cut and dried as they seem anyway. And when will Luc, hot, irresistible Luc leave her alone. Even with the awesome Adam in the offing, Luc is one hard hunk to resist.
I got turned onto this series by a friend. Can you tell I just got a Kindle for Christmas? Lol. I liked it. The main character Amy is a hoot. She's trying to stop her witchy ways with a 12 step program. She's lovable and loyal, everything you want your heroine to be. And she's got two men to choose from. Who wouldn't want that? I knew it was a novella when I bought it, but I really wish it was a little longer like a series length book. Otherwise, it was a great find. I'll definitely read the rest in the series.

This was a fun light read, although I felt the plot was too rushed, and I KNEW WHO ADAM WAS THE MOMENT HE COMMENTED ON THE FIG LEAVES. This book would be more interesting if the plot was given time to develop. There are quite a number of loose threads that didn't made me quite annoyed, so thus the three stars. Although I have to ask- Where did Amy have to go to find the Witches Anonymous meeting? hmmmmm, queer...
I was dying to read this one, as I love all things witch! It is a really good short read. I am not a huge fan of the short novella series. That being said this was a great book and I can not wait till I have the time to read the rest of the series. A little bit of heat, a little bit of magic, a whole lot of hot and some saving the world. Pretty great!
