I used “Reading God's Story: One-Year Chronological Plan” on the Bible app to read the Bible in a year. Last time I read the Bible straight through, but this plan has you read the Bible chronologically, which I thought helped e to have a better understanding of how events related to one another within the Bible, especially in the OT with the prophecies and how they applied to the history of Israel, as well as Paul’s letters and how they related to his travels in Acts.

The other interesting thing about this plan is that it is designed to read 6/7 days of the week, with one day off to allow time for other devotionals you might be interested in reading. I just kept reading as I was able, and was able to get ahead. This was beneficial later, when I would be invited to do other plans with friends. I was able to take a break from the Bible in a year plan because I had read ahead.

Over a period of two years exactly I was able to read the entire bible in Chronological order. The daily reading list was found under a google search and was very helpful. Some of the old testament was difficult to push through, especially genealogy writings and the specifications of building but the teaching stories were worth reading the monotonous readings.

There were a few things that made me want to be a good person. There was a lot of filler. There was a good bit that was ridiculous.

I have read this book from cover to cover and I never walk away disappointed. I learn, grow and transform.

Finally read the most widely read and controversial book in the world.

An interesting collection of legal books, letters, historical accounts, and eyewitness testimonies. I have to agree with Alden Thompson that it contains inspiration, but not every word is inspired.

Was hoping to find clear answers to theological questions such as: Is the Sabbath still a law? Is there a heavenly sanctuary or is it a metaphor? What is our role today?

Rather than clear answers, I feel like it is mostly about genuinely loving God, loving others, and trusting that in time God will reveal what is important.

Interested in reading it (or audiobook-ing) it again next year perhaps.

Bible A.K.A. Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth

On this Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand.

It's a wonder that so many - even self proclaimed christians - don't bother to read ALL of this love letter from our God.

The original NIV and the current NIV are nearly as good, similar to the unsuccessful TNIV.
