I'll be back on release day (October 25, 2022) with a full review. Until then, I'll just say that Christy Reece returns, along with familiar and beloved characters, in the third installment of her amazing and powerful OPTION ZERO SERIES. I can promise you that you won't be disappointed when Hawke and Olivia are reunited in an emotionally-charged story. It's fast-paced, wickedly deceptive and will keep readers on the edge of their seats from start to finish. A total package of unexpected and shocking surprises. A pure adrenaline rush where you'll never see the hits coming!

Let me start by saying….THAT prologue hit me straight in the heart, Wow! what a way to open the story 👀😱😳🥺
This author never disappoints, every book is full of action, suspense, intrigue & romance…and in Heartless we get it all!
There was so many twists and turns which kept me guessing as to what would happen next.
Although this is book 3 I feel you can read it as a stand-alone, the characters are fascinating, and there’s a few future storylines I can’t wait to read!
Hawke and Livvy were made for each other, however as with most relationships communication is key to their future…oh and external factors that want them both dead doesn’t help
Christy's books feature strong alpha males, smart, courageous women, evil villains, action, adventure, romance, and always a happy ending.
Must read!

Last Chance Rescue and Option Zero operative, Olivia Gates believed for two years that her husband, Nicholas Hawthorne, was dead. When he saves her from an attack by unknown men, she gets the shock of her life to find out that he is still alive and the revelation that some of her friends in OZ kept it from her. Hawke kept tabs on Olivia for two years, but even though the differences that had torn them apart before he disappeared are still there, Hawke can't stand the thought that Olivia might be able to move on with her life without him. Before they can tackle their issues, though, Olivia and Hawke must work with OZ to find out who attacked Olivia and how they can stop them from trying again.
In Heartless, the relationship between Hawke and Olivia is very believable because of their history. Both characters aren't necessarily likable due to the way they have dealt with that history, but their dialogue and actions feel realistic and appropriate to the situation, and their angst is palpable. The plot does maintain a good balance between the romance and the suspense, making it easy to fly through the story. The attack on Olivia happens early and grabs the reader's attention from the first page. The pace does slow in the middle of the book as a great deal of information about the mystery is delivered through narration and feels telling rather than showing. Overall, however, Heartless is an enjoyable entry in the Option Zero series and a very good read.

Option Zero is back with a rollercoaster ride of emotions, suspense and just when you think you know the cast of characters and who did what, there is a flip in the ride and you are back hanging upside down trying to figure out who is behind everything that is happening.Hawke and Olivia will break your heart,put it back together and break it again all while looking for the antagonist or is it antagonists? This is a phenomenal story of heart,heartbreak,suspense and love. I couldn’t put it down and now I can’t wait for Gideon and Eve’s story.If bayou are a fan of Christy Reece or just want a phenomenal read this is it.

Christy Reese is back finally giving us Star-crossed lovers Nick Hawthorne and Olivia Gates story and its heartbreaking. Their tragic past broke them up years ago. How this is tied to the secret evil group they have been chasing for years comes with lots of shocks and surprises through out this book.

Another Christy Reece hit. This book has been long awaited and it definitely was worth the wait. Hawke and Olivia's story was a masterpiece of heartbreak and love. I absolutely loved reading this story and can't wait for next Option Zero book to come out.

There is a reason Christy Reece is on my auto buy list, and this book is no exception. I've been waiting for Olivia's story for a while, and I wasn't at all disappointed. There were the usual twists and turns that you'd expect from a Christy Reece book, and it kept me guessing almost to the end.

There is a reason why I love Christy Reece, author and creator of romantic suspense…an exemplary writer who takes her time to dwell into her characters to appreciate and acknowledge the depth of their personalities, who gets into the mind of evil to understand and recognize the extent of corruptness, and creating motives and situations, thus weaving an engrossing story of good and evil, right and wrong, actions and consequences.
Readers of her Option Zero series have met all her characters in play and each of her characters have an intense and underlying depth to their personalities. Characters who have been to the bowels of the underbelly, witness to sociopaths and power mongrels, politics and destruction. And everyone one of them have their own demons to demolish.
In the midst of deep cover ops and mayhem, Olivia Gates and Nicholas Hawthorne formed an electrifying bond of love and marriage. Where there is good, evil is always lurking in the shadows to strike and create havoc, separating Olivia and Nicholas. And the same twisted evil plays a hand in bringing these lovers face to face, little realizing the full impact of “Zero Options” to survive their solidarity. Evil would see the end of the day! For Olivia and Nicholas, who have given each other so much to remember, it is hard to forget the separation and pain, and it’s a long road to trust and forgiveness. Christy Reece gives this very facet of their character, a special attention in her final chapters.

A satisfied reader will let Christy Reece go back to her work, and will wait in anticipation as Iris Gates went back to work as well!

Heartless is the third installment in the mystery, romantic suspense, action, Option Zero series by Christy Reece. It can be read as standalone but it’s a good series as a whole.
Heartless, is also connected to one of my favorite series, The Last Chance Rescue, LCR, and its boss Noah McCall.
A few years before husband and wife, Nicholas Hawthorne and Olivia Gates became OZ operatives, they were members of a special operations team that destroyed The González cartel and later was dismantled.
Years later working with Operation Zero, OZ, and its boss Asher Drake, Nicholas, aka Hawke and Olivia got the opportunity to investigate who could be the enemy and the traitor from their former team that was targeting their members and had successfully killed two. A time in which they were also having serious couple problems that made them think that their love, no matter how strong it was, might not be enough to keep them together.
Hawke ran an operation in which he was going to stage his death, but it failed, almost costing his life and forcing him to hide for two years from his OZ team and his wife until Olivia became the newest target.
Olivia Gates, a daughter of one of the most admired MI6 couple, and possible sociopaths, learned growing up that betrayal comes from the least expected sources, and that nothing could last forever. After losing everything that mattered to her, and without wanting to move on even two years after her husband’s disappearance and possible death, the only fulfillment in her life was working for Last Chance Rescue, LCR, until she was attacked in her house, an event that brought back from the dead her soulmate, her husband.
Olivia and Hawke were in for a lot of surprises in this wonderful story, and not all of them of the good kind. Their love faced their individual resentments, emotional turmoil, childhood memories and traumas, and fears but it was worthy of the peace that comes after a well won battle. Cheers to Mrs. & Mr. Hawthorne.
Heartless is my favorite book in OZ series so far, and I am looking forward to whatever is next. I highly recommend it.

This book grabs the reader immediately with a very exciting opening. Then, after we are hooked, the author skillfully fills in the necessary serious “stuff.”
Olivia “Liv” and Nic “Hawke” met when they were both working undercover for different intelligence agencies. Even though they didn’t know they were undercover, they were still instantly attracted to each other.
Eventually they married. However, when the story begins, everyone believes that Hawke is dead. Olivia is heartbroken, even though, before Hawke left, they were planning to get a divorce.
Hawke and Olivia were both raised in dysfunctional families. Hawke’s father was a violent alcoholic who regularly beat his wife and son. After mother ran away from the family, his father beat him every day.
Olivia’s parents were not much better. Her parents were spies for M16 in Britain. From the moment she was born, her parents spent their time together teaching Olivia to become a spy. They selfishly raised Olivia without any love or affection. In fact, my heart breaks when her parents finally go too far in punishing Olivia.
Christy Reece creates awesomely lovable characters. They are both strong and brave and expert warriors. And yet, he is exceptionally gentle and loving to Olivia. Both characters have trouble relating to other people except for each other.
The author has created a complex plot that is filled with danger, intrigue and many evil characters. Throughout the book, the author skillfully confuses, and frustrates the reader with many twists and turns that lead to unexpected surprises. Readers should prepare to shake with fear, to scream with anger and to cry with sadness as they read this amazing romantic suspense.
This is another awesome book from the fabulous Christy Reece!

So if you are familiar with Christy Reece, I don't have to convince you that she is still her outstanding self. If you haven't started down the suspenseful road with her books, let me implore you to begin now! Option Zero is her latest series, which still involves some characters and connections from her Last Chance series.You will never be disappointed and whatever point you begin, you will want to go back and read more so just accept it.
Heartless is such an opposite title for the story of Olivia and Hawke's story. Their relationship has always been about having a heart, especially for each other. From the moment they met, they knew they were destined to be together forever. But no good suspense story could last with out some evil lurking around trying to destroy them, their loved ones or even the world. In order to keep Olivia safe, Hawke "died". He went undercover to find out who and why. People were dying and he couldn't let that happen to Olivia. What they discover when they find themselves together again is that the only ones they can truly trust is each other. Even parents and friends sometimes fail you. But their love doesn't.
Christy is an amazing author that I will always wait on pins and needles for her stories. She has a mind like no other when it comes to the evil of people, the strength of the human love story and how to make you keep reading because something else is just around the corner.

Oh, how I have missed the men of OZ!!!
I really enjoyed Oliva and Nic's story. Although, I will be honest, I was pretty angry with Nic there for a while. You see, they had a plan. A monkey wrench was thrown in and things were said by Nic that he shouldn't have said, and actions taken that shouldn't have been taken.
When they realize that after a mission to take down a large cartel, their team members now have targets on their back, and two have already been killed, they come up with another plan -one that, frankly, I didn't agree with - but that didn't go as planned.
Betrayal, lies, manipulations, interference, danger, and more surround these two. My heart broke for both of them. They lost each other once. Will it happen again?
I love how this author writes her characters, male or female, as strong and vulnerable all at the same time. You just can't help but fall in love with all of them!
This was a great addition to the OZ series and I loved the little glimpses of the LCR group as well.
If you haven't read this series, I highly recommend you do so ASAP!! If you have, then you definitely will want to grab this one!!

Heartless is book 3 in the Option Zero series and features another couple and continues the search for the group that is targeting the team. Olivia and Hawke met while working for different intelligence agencies and then went on to start their own team. While working together they fell in love and got married. At the beginning they both wanted the same things, but as they sometimes do things changed and Olivia started wanting things Hawke didn’t. A mission goes wrong, and Olivia believes Hawke is dead. She grieves for him and tries to move on by taking a job with LCR only to have the past come back after her. Hawke comes to her rescue and they are once again forced to work together. They have to face not only the mistakes they made in the past but new secrets that emerge about the organization and the people working for it that are after the team. This book is an action packed and emotional story that I could not put down.

Get ready for a ride with Heartless! The story of Hawke and Olivia has been a long time coming and it has been so worth the wait. The story is full of twists and turns that you will be unprepared for. Hawke and Olivia's story is full of suspense, secrets, deceit, heartbreak, love, and I could go on. A reader can feel the emotions of the characters and become one with them. From the first words of this story, I was drawn in to where it was hard to put the book down.
Two quotes are at the beginning of the book, "Show me a hero, and I'll write you a tragedy" by F. Scott Fitzgerald and "In the process of letting go, you will lose many things from the past, but you will find yourself" by Deepak Chopra. These two quotes sum up this story perfectly.
Do not pass this story up. If you have never read Christy Reece, you do not know what you are missing.

A romantic suspense with military background with plenty of action but driven on the characters. Heartless is emotional as the main couple deals with their tragic past and secrets. You are on an emotional rollercoaster as Hawke and Olivia battle the unknown threats as well as try to overcome their own personal hurts. Evil separated this meant-to-be couple once, and honestly I wasn’t sure they were going to make it together again. A very mysterious cast of characters each having their individual issues that they must deal with but share a very strong bond with one another. I eagerly await the next book in the series as the team continues their hunt for justice.

The Option Zero team is back in Heartless and this one is a twisty turny ride of emotions, action, suspense, and just when you think you know what is going on you realize you have no idea. Hawke and Olivia's story is heartbreaking but it helps you to love the characters all that much more. You will want to set aside time to read this book because once you start it you will not want to put it down. I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait for the next one in the series. Christy Reece shows us, again, why we want to read her books as soon as they release.

One thing I can always count on with a Christy Reece novel is Action, suspense, and a twist or two I don't see coming. Heartless was no exception. It took me on a wild ride, delivering all the things I look for in a suspense novel.
It's not often that someone presumed dead has to come back to life - but in the case of Hawke, he's left with no choice but to do just that. Olivia has grieved for the loss she thought she'd suffered when Hawke died so of course things are not smooth sailing when he's back, but they have worse things to worry about, and that means working together to figure out who's after them and their group.
The stakes are high, emotions are spiked, and the danger is always lurking, but somehow through the twists and turns, the feelings between Hawke and Olivia remain and they'll find their happily ever after together - if they can figure out who's after them and avoid the evil aimed their way.

Option Zero is back with a Vengeance and a rollercoaster ride of emotion. Hawke and Livvy's love story is one for the ages and absolutely loved it. This story will break your heart more then once and then put all the pieces back together again. Trying to figure out who is behind everything will boggle your mind. I thought I had it all figured out more then once only to find out how wrong I was. Excellent story that I found I couldn't put down. Thank you Christy Reece for another Fantastic Read. Can't wait for the next book.

We true fans of Christy Reece have waited a long time for this story. No one really knows what goes on in a relationship. Hawke and Olivia’s was solid until Hawke’s “death” nearly two years ago. They believed nothing could break them apart, no one and nothing mattered as long as they were together. But evil can do more damage than many can withstand. Even the strongest beliefs can falter under undeniable evidence. Just ask Hawke and Olivia.
As you learn about the past of each of them, you can understand why they are who they are. I truly loved this book. My emotions were all over the place as I read for hours. I was mad at Olivia; I was furious with Hawke. I felt sympathy for both. Every twist and turn shocked me as the story progressed. Everything about this couple told me nothing could break them. But something did. The who, what, and why will shock you. This makes a great book, which I’ve already read twice, and I had no problem giving it five stars. I guarantee a wonderful reading experience.

Olivia has grieved for Hawke, believing he was dead. When he comes back she is angry and hurt but has no choice but to work with him. Hawke never planned to return but things have changed. Enemies are targeting their team and he has no choice but to come back, protect Olivia and find and defeat the people after them. This is a fast paced book with plenty of twists that you won’t see coming. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Heartless is book #3 in the Option Zero series and it’s a page-turner! It grabbed my attention from the start and held on till the end. It’s a fast paced second chance romance filled with danger, heartache and suspense. It can be read as a stand-alone, but it’s better if you read the first two books. It has a very entertaining plot. *this was a complimentary copy and this is my honest review*

Christy has done it again! This book grabbed me from the first page and just never let me go! I went to work with no sleep cause I just couldn't put this book down. I have been waiting for Hawke and Olivia's book and it doesn't disappoint. This book is a ride through your emotions. There's heartbreak, love, betrayal, and suspense. The only negative about this book is that it ended!!!! I look forward to the rest of the series!

Worth the wait
It was great to be back with the OZ team through Nic and Livvys story. Tough, hard hitting, ruthless, sad, heart warming, suspense, lost love, old friends it had it all pretty much, oh add couple assasins, and some steamy saucy bits I guess that's a reasonable summary. What it doesn't do is confirm how good this book is, how the author excels in this area, weaving her web for the reader that draws you and doesn't let go. Highly recommended.

Christy Reece has done it again! This book captured me in from the start and kept me going until the end. Lots of twists and turns that kept you guessing until the end. By far the best book in the series so far(loved the other two). As I was an advanced reader I do not want to put in any spoilers. Preorder this book. You will not be disappointed.

Hawk and Olivia’s story did not disappoint! This entire series has been excellent. I was looking forward to Hawk’s story. I knew that the history there would be gut wrenching and I know Christy Reece can write some tormented characters. This is the 3rd book in a series. Be sure to grab the first two so you can truly enjoy the depth these characters offer.

Christy Reece brings us back to Option Zero with Heartless. We finally have Hawk and Liv’s story and it was so worth the wait ! She has written some of my very favorite series, LCR and Last Chance , and Option Zero is right up there with them ! Danger, suspense, twists you don’t see coming and a deep and a kind of heartbreaking love story ! Couldn’t put it down ! 5 stars ++++

WOW, my heart didn’t stop pounding the entire book. I didn’t want it to end…Christy’s characters are all so complex that keeping up with everything is a challenge at times. Just the way I like it. The missions that Christy plans rival the Seals, her mind is a dangerous place. I will be looking forward to the next installment in the Option Zero world…
