Batman: Gotham Knights - A Cidade Dourada tem sido a exceção que confirma a regra de quadrinhos baseados em videogames. Porque este quadrinho é bom. Até melhor que muitos quadrinhos do Batman. O roteiro de Evan Narcisse é bem cerzido e os desenhos do brasileiro Abel são lindíssimos. Sâo duas tramas paralelas. Uma delas se passa em Gotham City na época da escravidão, em que um misterioso herói tenta ajudar escravizados libertos a fazerem seu trânsito para a cidade gótica. Na outra trama, Batman briga com Asa Noturna porque quer mandar em Blüdhaven, coisa típica do fascista do Batman. Entretanto, uma coisa parece ligar as duas tramas: uma epidemial viral que enlouquece as pessoas e as torna obcecadas com alguma coisa que está em voga no momento da inoculação. Um mistério interessante que vai me manter ligado na minssérie até ela atingir o seu encerramento.

I’m making it a habit to read all the Batman mini series I can. I find Batman minies to be most enjoyable, because whether they’re continuity or not, the writer is always going to give it their all. Although it’s off to a slow start and I have a lot of questions, I love the art, the dialogue and where this book seems to be heading. And even though it’s a video game adaptation, it seems like this story might have some bearing in the main continuity. Did somebody say… Court of Owls? Whooooo? Whooodie whoooo???
Ps. Dang, the codes that come inside the print versions of these really wanna make me go buy a PS5 so I can play the Arkham Knights game. Got the code to unlock some sweet exclusive escrima with this ish. Did I mention this is a Knightwing heavy issue?

I’m really enjoying these so far!! I love seeing the batfam so much. I hope we get to see Jason soon. I’m pretty sure I already know what’s going on because I’ve already played the game, but I’m still hooked. Dick is my favorite so it was great to see him!!
