What makes this book about acing your job interview better than any other job search book out there? That's a tough question-but no tougher than, \"What makes you better suited for this job than any other candidate?\" There are a number of winning answers. This book is short, simple, and to the point. It doesn't waste time on irrelevant background, the questions are realistic and likely, the answers are credible and easy to remember, and the language is positive and upbeat-exactly the tone interviewers are looking for.
Further, because interviewers are often turned off by pat answers, this book offers flexible, \"fill-in-the-blank\" answers that you can customize to fit almost any interview situation. And it shows you how to adapt your answers to any situation so they sound fresh, authentic, and unrehearsed.
One of the general principles taught in this book is the \"S.S.S. method,\" making you answers Specific, Short, and Supportive-that is, confident and positive. You'll also learn the importance of the \"PACT technique,\" how to use \"Billboard Answers,\" how to answer follow-up questions, and a host of other successful interview techniques.
You'll discover how to apply these techniques to more than one hundred of the trickiest, stickiest questions, including seemingly no-win beauties such as, \"What's your greatest weakness?\" and \"Are you better at working within a budget or doing quality work?\"
With the advice you'll find in Job-Winning Answers to the Hardest Interview Questions your interview answers will reflect your personality and unique style, and will distinguish you from everyone else by creating a lasting, favorable impression.
This book is a useful guide to gather some general ideas for any job interview or if you'd simply like to become more familiar with the interview process. The answers provided pertain more to business/marketing field but are still general enough to where they can be applied to other areas. The point of the book is not to give exact answers that you will bring to your specific interview but rather to give you ideas on how to approach the most common questions that are asked in an interview. You may or may not identify with the answers that are provided but again, they are only there to serve as examples and help you brainstorm your own ideas and generate your own opinions and thoughts. In general, I found this book informative and helpful.
I really liked this book, but that is obvious based on my star rating. What I liked is that I felt I would be able to apply it to my field, it gave me more confidence in my interviews, and helped me to see the interview process from the other side without being boring, monotonous, or annoying.
This really helped with job interviews! It had a lot of good questions to ask the Interviewer, which I had not been doing a lot of before. It helped me get the job I have now.
