I read this through KU and absolutely loved it! Rejected shifter mates are my jam. I try to buy all the KU books that I love to support the authors, but when I went to buy this one, it's not on KU anymore and I can't find it on Amazon or on the authors website. What happened???
I love it. It is sad, dark, intense, and everything you want in a book. But if you have trigger than it is totally not for you. I can't wait to read the second one.
I really did enjoyed this rejected mate shifter romance. I absolutely love Lili, she’s the perfect female mc. She was an outcast to her own pack a late bloomer in finding her wolf. She was treated horrible by the other pack members, who tried to murder her, but then a certain Alpha came along and helped her transform. Wilde was a almost perfect Alpha, but what took him from being perfect was he cut the line that tethered him to his mate! 😭 Poor Lili! I did enjoy the twist, although I kind of figured that maybe she was half witch 🧙, but in all honesty why I wasn’t 100% on it was because there was no intense relationship with her mom that raised her, none that I could tell. I believe from the other books I’ve read from the authors this is a first dive into this genre, and I definitely think they should write ✍️ more, I’ve enjoyed some of their other books. Can’t wait until book 2 comes out! Another thought these authors know how to really grab your attention when it comes to the cliff hangers! 😈
Enemies to lovers? Check. Lots of tension and spice? Double check! I’m a big fan of the rejected mate trope, so much pain to that eventual swoop back to happiness…hopefully. I really went into this read expecting to love it, but it really fell short towards the end, especially when we get new info out of left field, so that we could continue the story. The end’s “surprise twist”? Felt super forced, almost like there could have been clues throughout, but weren’t and now we get one knock after another of things that go wrong and now need to be righted in the next book. I probably won’t continue on to the next, it was hard to even keep reading through to the very last page. Was I intrigued until the last 20% of the book? Yes. Was it a forced finish? Also Yes. Good luck with the next book.
Rejected mates and Wolf shifters are my favourite tropes, not seen anything from these two authors before in this vein but I love most things they write. This is a really good rejected mate book, where our FMC having a really tough time as she hasn’t yet shifted. Lili the betas daughter is a Wolf witch hybrid unknown to her, her first shift and mating bite from Wilde confuses her, especially as he was initially trying to kill her to protect his twin who had rejected her, potentially causing a war between two packs. Wilde and Lili have a rocky start so the cliffhanger ending here is heartbreaking, desperately wanting to find out what happens next, an amazing read.
Wowzers. Lilis story is so heartbreaking. She is so strong in everything that she has faced and dealt with. Just when I thought they would face the world together that ending was not what I saw coming!! Such a great story. Can’t wait for the next book
I don't know how I feel about the fmc and mmc's dynamic? It was hatred and then I'm hit with whiplash of them being in love ??? That was the most confusing aspect to me. The story was interesting but the fmc let too much shit slide. I kinda want to read the next book because I might be a masochist.
