AN OVERVIEW OF UFO-RELATED TOPICS, WITH MANY CONTACTEE INTERVIEWS
William F. "Bill" Hamilton III (born 1943) is a UFO researcher, a member of MUFON since 1976, and author of several books on UFOs. (He also reportedly served for four years in the Air Force Security Service.)
He wrote in the Prologue to this 1996 book, “I have been on an alien quest for 40 years… There have been more questions than answers. It has been a search for truth. Do other intelligent life forms exist in the universe?... UFOs have been seen in the skies and on the ground all over the world for decades and have been studied by researchers from all walks of life. Those who make an open-minded study of the subject conclude that it is real, that it is physical, and that it is tremendously important… In the ‘90s, we seem to be on the threshold of a breakthrough in our quest, yet the mystery remains, the puzzle has become as complex as ever, and we all yearn to know the truth behind the greatest secret in the world. The aliens have shown an increasing interest in our reproductive biology… Are they trying to develop new forms of life? For what purpose?... Perhaps the aliens have been conducting their harvest for many millennia and their past efforts have brought about the genesis of modern humans.
“Of course all of this is hypothetical without some solid facts to support our case. Such facts are fewer than we would like… Through these pages I will review my experiences and those of others as I have pursued the elusive aliens through the decades in search of answers… The aliens use advanced technology… I cannot rule out that aliens may be using mental magic. And with magic comes mystery. Perhaps we can begin to penetrate the fog surrounding this mystery.”
He explains, “Objections to the case for contactees are: 1) The contactees don’t have any first-hand eyewitnesses… 2) The early contactees claimed that the visitors came from planets in our local solar system such as Mars and Venus. Space probes have proven that other planets in our system could not sustain life as we know it… 3) One of the primary objections … was the apparent zeal … with which they spread quasi-religious messages… 4) The contactees were not very cooperative with researchers… [and] not interested in providing proof of their experiences to still another skeptical inquirer… 5)… the visitors were reported looking human and able to pass undetected amongst us if dressed in our clothing… Yet, reports of human entities from UFOs will not go away… The existence of humans originating from an extraterrestrial or extradimensional civilization is a comforting thought to our aloneness in the universe.” (Pg. 18)
He states, “My first interest in crashed saucers came to me in 1953 when I read Frank Scully’s book, ‘Behind the Flying Saucers.’ … a simple review of our own history of air crashes involving technically sophisticated aircraft such as the F-16 or B-1B bomber refutes the idea that advanced technology is immune from failure.” (Pg. 39)
He suggests, “Air Force pilots may report a ‘bogie’ in the sky, but now they may just be attempting to intercept a secret aircraft. They will probably be told: ‘You saw nothing. The nothing you saw does not exist. Tell no one about it.’” (Pg. 57)
He notes, “stories have prompted researchers, including myself, to find documented evidence of underground facilities, and we have found plenty. That such an underground empire exists in almost total secrecy is absolutely amazing. Few question its existence, its purpose, or the tremendous expenditure of monies that must have gone into the design, construction, maintenance, and operations of these facilities.” (Pg. 66)
He observes, “They call it the Ranch, Watertown, or Dreamland. It is part of a vast military reserve in central Nevada. Spy planes have been tested, taking off and landing on the long runway at Groom Lake. Since 1989 and the release of Robert Lazar’s story of having worked at S-4… on back-engineering alien spacecraft, hundreds of visitors have some to the Little Ale Inn in Rachel, Nevada… to look for the glowing lights of UFOs that appear… Indeed, many witnesses claim to have seen classic UFOs and dozens of photos and videos support their claims. Critics have proposed that witnesses are seeing advanced experimental aircraft … as this has long been a testing site for advanced technology aircraft. However, interviewing several witnesses along with written testimony reveals that the witnesses are describing classic disc-shaped aeroforms that move in zig-zag maneuvers, fly silently, and are surrounded by glowing plasma… Not all experiences along the so-called ‘Extraterrestrial Alien Highway’ … have been skywatcher sightings. Unsuspecting curiosity seekers have experienced encounters with bright lights and missing time.” (Pg. 98)
He says, “What secrets lurk in ocean depths? Are there alien forms of intelligent life that occupy the vast volumes of water that constitute our oceans, seas, and lakes?... Could these depths hide alien submarine bases? Underwater UFOs have been sighted on many occasions lifting out of their submerged depths and taking to the air.” (Pg. 107)
He summarizes, “From the averaging of voluminous pages of reports concerning aliens, we can arrive at the tentative conclusion that most aliens are biological entities, especially those retrieved from saucer crashes… The reports indicate that these beings have appendages similar, but not identical to our own… Nose and ears seem like vestiges of these organs… Biological entities are known to arise from biologically-conducive environments… we must also consider that other alien races may come into conflict with one race of cultivators, having different intentions, and may try to interfere with the watchers of one race to impose their own design on that race.” (Pg. 124-126)
He concludes, “What… could we learn from the aliens? They might know more about the nature of mind and consciousness and whether mind and consciousness survive the transition from life to death. Their very existence challenges the beliefs of our western religions. Science has left the door open for the existence of extraterrestrial life. Likewise, religion has left its door open. All sorts of extraordinary life inhabits the pages of our sacred texts... Our religious tales may be challenged ty the truth of alien visitation … but our religions will eventually accommodate this truth. God will only be seen as more wonderful for creating all these diverse life forms and filling the universe or universes with life. Indeed, God would be omnipresent… Can we survive as a species?... Will we someday go where the aliens go?... If anything, the presence of the aliens has stimulated our imagination and given us hope.” (Pg. 141-142)
