Forged
Simon is not sure he'll ever find the right sub for him. His last relationship ended badly, but he's determined not to let it rule his life, so he heads for the Hammer, his favorite members only club. A man never knows what will come his way at the Hammer, and at least his friends there know and love him. Big, buff cowboy Jeremy just got a job as a bouncer at the Hammer, and he thinks Simon is the hottest thing he's seen in a long time. He'd never found a Dom who suits him, but Simon might just be the thing to cure his bedroom blues. Their relationship heats up fast, but just as things seem to be as good as they can get, tragedy strikes. All of their friends from the Hammer gather to support Jeremy and Simon, but all of the support in the world might not be enough to make Jeremy let Simon in again. Wow! Can I rate this book higher? Forged: A Hammer Novel, surprised me in more ways than not. It takes an unexpected turn in the middle of it, that tests the physical and emotional connection between the characters. They both come through the situation will a love that is stronger and a bond is formed between them that will not be broken. I won't say what exactly happens because I don't want to spoil it, but do yourself a favor and don't miss out on this one!
When Jeremy takes a job as the new bouncer at "Hammer" an exclusive BDSM club, he thinks it will be just another day on the job. He has just a few short months until he graduates from college, and he is excited about starting his life after college. Jeremy has had problems with his love life. Built like a brick house, it is surprising to most people that he has no desire to be a Dom. Because of his size, he has had trouble finding a Dom that will fit into his more independent lifestyle.
Simon has been alone for a while. Although he frequents the "Hammer" he has yet to find the perfect sub and soul mate he is seeking. Not wanting a man who totally subservant, he craves a man who will bend to his will, but not break to it. When he meets Jeremy at the door the club, he is immediatey fasinated with him. Not only is there more to Jeremy than meets the eye, he finds himself totally captivated by Jeremy's sweet disposition, intelligence and charm.
As the two men hit it off, they soon see that they are perfect for one another. They have the same needs and work together like a well oiled machine in many ways. Just as they think that everything is going perfectly, tragic circumstances change their lives forever.
This book is about commitment, loyality and love. Watching Simon and Jeremy dedicate themselves to make their relationship work, no matter what is thrown at them was a beautiful thing to watch. As usual, Sean Michaels writes a very emotionally charged book with characters very well written and made for one another. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would. It was simply a wonderful read.
A word of warning for the faint of heart. This book has MANY sex scenes in it. There is some BDSM play (nothing to over the top) and some very dirty language throughout this book. If this is offensive to you, this book is not for you. Luckily, I love a beautifully written love story with some very hot sex and such well written characters, I would be happy to call them "friends".

What a wonderful novel! The passionate relationship between Jeremy and Simon made reading this book addictive. The book had a shocking twist to it from midway on. I love the Hammer series so far, and look forward to reading the next one.

I'm becoming a Sean Michael Addict. Holy sh--! I loved this book! Simon and Jeremy were both cool heroes that I absolutely fell in love with. The book surprised the sh-- out of me midway with what happened, but I loved how they worked through it.

The second book in the Hammer series features Simon and Jeremy. Simon is a Dom currently without a sub and Jeremy is looking for just the right man to submit to. From their first meeting there is an immediate spark which turns into a raging inferno as soon as things get physical between them.
This is a well written character driven story. Both Simon and Jeremy are a bit different from the typical Dom and sub. Jeremy is a big tall muscular 'he-man' looking guy while Simon is the smaller of the two. Outwardly it looks like Jeremy should be the Top but neither man cares about that. They are both confident in themselves and while Jeremy is indeed submissive to Simon theirs is not the typical full D/s relationship.
Jeremy has played a bit in the lifestyle but has never truly had a Master. He's looking for a Dom but definitely not to be anyone's full-time slave. Lucky for him Simon appreciates Jeremy's independent streak and their relationship is based on mutual respect with healthy doses of fun and laughter and lots of loving and hot sex.
This book is about commitment, loyalty and love. I loved the fact that they realize this fairly quickly. There is not a lot of angst and outside problems to get in their way instead the author allows the natural progression of their relationship to shine through. I loved the passion and romance between Simon and Jeremy.
When Simon and Jeremy are settled into their relationship with all of their boundaries and needs clearly noted and agreed upon life throws them a huge curve ball. The tragic accident and subsequent change to their happy new life was not only totally unexpected but also so well written that I was almost as devastated as Simon and Jeremy. Sean Michael excels at writing emotionally charged moments and in this book he outdid himself.
The last part of the book focuses on the changes brought about by the accident and its affect on Simon and Jeremy's relationship. They will have to deal with not only the physical changes but also with the emotional impact. Both of them, to different degrees, are deeply affected and it will take hard work on both of their parts to overcome and get back to the way they were prior to the accident.

Although i didn't liked "Bent" (the first one of the Hammer serie), i wanted to try another one because i really like Sean Michael's style.
And i was right!
With "Forged" i went on a journey: loving, having fun, laughing, loving, sharing, hurting, loving and loving....
A rollercoaster of emotions i shared with the two characters.
It's not all about sex (even if there is a LOT of sex in this story!!).
It is about a real relationship (one of the thing i did not like in "Bent" was that the relationship between the lovers felt one-sided). Simon and Jeremy are in love and both give everything to the other.

What a fantastic love story with the D/s theme. Characters had real problems they had to work through to be together. Can't wait to read the next in series.

I loved the passion and romance between Simon and Jeremy. Who knew 2 people who were so different would find themselves in such a beautiful relationship? I was surprised by the accident that happened, but was so gratified to see Simon whip (no pun intended) Jeremy back to the land of the living.

A different take on BDSM
Warning: This review might contain what some people consider SPOILERS.
Rating: 8/10
PROS:
- I’m used to Michael’s sub characters being rather repressed and shy (not to mention physically smaller than their Doms), and I was disappointed at first when Jeremy came on so strong and confident in his desires. I grew to appreciate it, though: Jeremy is honest and open and unashamed, which makes for a different sort of story from this author. (see cons below also)
- Simon does push Jeremy eventually to do things he’s never done before, and I liked that I was able to see Jeremy’s uncertainty in those situations. It made his trust in Simon much sweeter.
- The characters’ DTR (Define The Relationship) talk and the discussion of their contract is very matter-of-fact, which isn’t the most romantic thing in the world, but it did strike me as realistic, which is the way the whole D/s angle of their relationship seemed to me: unusually practical and thought-out.
- After the tragedy in the story, Michael does a good job of depicting not only Simon’s shock and quiet strength, but also Jeremy’s despair and frustration.
- I really, really liked a couple of the secondary characters--and my favorites were entirely separate from the Hammer crowd (that is, not other characters involved in the D/s scene).
CONS:
- My main critique of Jeremy’s unwavering confidence is that there’s very little seduction involved in this book. My favorite BDSM stories tend to go something like this: “I want to tie you up.” “Heh. No.” “Oh, I think you want me to.” “Hmm. Maybe.” “Come on. You’ll like it.” “Well. Okay…” Forged is more like this: “I want to tie you up.” “Awesome. Your place or mine?”
- As much as I found it enlightening to read about a different type of BDSM couple, it was still weird to me how much bigger/stronger/more powerful the sub was than the Dom. I found it strange that when Jeremy and Simon had their serious talks, it was the Dom who was in the sub’s lap and not the other way around.
Overall comments: This book was not what I was expecting. Even after the tragedy, the relationship felt to me as though the two men were more a couple who get off on kinkiness than people who really NEED D/s, which is the kind of story I prefer. Still, the emotional journey these two characters experience together is touching, so I liked the book overall.

This was a surprisingly deep SM read. Lots of the sexin' you expect in a SM book, in fact, I was starting to skim and then bam! A major event happens to test Simon and Jeremy's burgeoning relationship and determines whether they're going to survive as a couple or not.
Jeremy has just begun working at the Hammer and he's looking for a strong man to push his boundaries. Simon goes to the club one Friday night and he's looking for the kind of sub he just hasn't found in the past. They click. There was an interesting dynamic as well that Jeremy is big and tall and Simon is a smaller man. The kinks covered here are a bit different than I usually read, kinbaku and sounding, and I enjoyed reading about it. I had read a Habu shorty about sounding Dark Angel Sounding and didn't really get the attraction with it but I could understand it here.
I'm definitely going to delve more into the Hammer series.

Wow! Lots of m/m action, but it was also a very heartfelt love story. It brought tears to my eyes when they were dealing with their "issue".

This book was the first full-length all male gay novel I think I have read (or at least that was memorable). I like gay male erotica, but there is usually threesomes or women involved somehow....at least in the books I can get from the library. This was a nice change and I really liked the relationship between the two men. I could have used more emotion from Jeremy since the story seemed to weigh in on Simon's thoughts more heavily. Don't get me wrong: I liked both characters and Simon's thoughts were great. However, I think Jeremy had more of the struggle emotionally so I would have liked to be part of that.
Sex scenes? Delish and steamy. They were so into each other there was a lot of 'can't-wait-to-get-home' kinda sex. Just my type. Warning to some: There is BDSM, and although it's light and isn't always central to the sex, there are a number of scenes involving...how shall I say...insertion of things into the penis. How's that for detail? It doesn't bother me but doesn't do anything for me either. Even though it does occur more than once, it doesn't take away from the sex scenes...it is fascinating how it affects the characters emotionally. So if it doesn't repulse you, you won't mind it at all. If it does it for you, then this is a great book with some scenes for that!
I would definitely read Sean Michael again because he does hot sex scenes with and good story!

I never really like bitter with my sweet, and this is what the story contains. Jeremy gets hurt and has to overcome his new obstacle with his partner Simon(which he does, and quite wonderfully). The relationship is wonderously steamy and intense and I like the BDSM mix that seems to revolve around the Hammer Novels written by the one and only Sean Micheal. The dialogue,interaction with each other, and the people they meet make this an excellent read (nothing beats Bent yet though)

This book was 3/4 hot BDSM erotica, and 1/4 a sweet, well-written hurt-comfort story. I liked some of the details of that portion of the story very much, particularly Jeremy's reactions which seemed real and believable and not glossed over or minimized. The D/s was fairly light here, although consistently part of the story, and I really liked both MC's.

3.5 stars. This couple are sickeningly perfect for each other. Buff cowboy Jeremy is a bouncer and a trainee blacksmith who finds the perfect Dom in the beautiful Simon. Lots of bondage and bdsm ensues, yadda, yadda.. The book is saved by the occurrence of a tragic event which challenges their relationship.

LOVED this one! The major turn in the storyline was so well done. Simon is a great dom and I love his sensitivity. Wanting Jeremy to cuddle with, loving that Jeremy could pick him up. And Jeremy, wow, his handling of the results of the accident was just really well written. I loved it!

Out of all the Hammer series by Sean Michael I have to say this one was my favorite so far. It was touching and a little heartbreaking but in the end there was a happy ever after for the main characters. I look forward to reading the rest of this series.

I've recently found this author, and I've enjoyed everything he's written. But this one-this one really got to me. This may be my fav of his, so far. *Laugh* I'm still making my way through his huge backlist. :)

I'm having a hard time deciding how to review this one. Because I seriously skipped over about 25% of the book to where everyone that reviewed it was saying it started to get really good. The last 30% of the book was great. The first part wasn't at all. I didn't really like Jeremy and Simons relationship. It was weird for a D/s book. It was like Jeremy was the dom everywhere but scenes. Then Simon would take over. It just was strange. I also hated how from practically the beginning Jeremy called Simon honey. It was done constantly. Practically in every paragraph at times. I wanted to scream. So, I skipped ahead. I didn't miss a darned thing that I can tell. Probably just a million sex scenes which I was skimming over almost from the start of the book. Still, I'm giving it 3 stars because I really enjoyed that last 30%.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I loved seeing the dynamic between Jeremy and Simon. Jeremy was the bigger built guy but was the sub. It was my first time reading a book about this dynamic. But they just jumped right into it all so fast that it made it seem fake. And then there was the accident and that seemed believable with everything they were going through and I really liked it. They got through it together and it was beautiful.

Killer book, gives everyone a sense on what the world really does. Nothing in life is fair, or does it rarely make sense. But then you have wonderful people who can share their stories with the world. Then we can catch glimpses of human beings doing great things at a sacrifice to themselves. Will be buying more from the hammer.

Of the Hammer stories I've read this one was not my favorite or even close to that. To be honest I found the beginning and most of the middle excruciatingly boring. I almost felt like they were fillers for the ending.
Now, I would have given this 2 stars if I hadn't FINALLY recognized the characters. Apparently, I've read Jeremy and Simon's short stories, but had never gotten to the full length novel. Truth be told I only realized his after . Which compelled me to give the book 3 stars, since I actually really like the short stories I've read with them.
I guess, the reason I found the story dragging is because Simon doesn't come off as your typical Alpha male dom. He's kinda subtle in his approach to doming Jeremy, that you don't even notice it happen until it does.
Anyway, I do actually like this series so I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a series with lots of sounds! I think every book except maybe 2 so far haven't incorporated sounds. I feel at this point in time they are almost a Sean Michael trade mark, he really likes them.

This book is so hard to rate... 3.5 stars?
It feels a little unbalanced (ha). The first 2/3s are basically just sex scenes (albeit EXTREMELY HOT sex scenes), then something major happens about 60% in and the rest of the book shifts dramatically.
Granted, it's a good final third, the ending just feels a little rough and I think it may have worked better if the pacing were adjusted.
The book is also terribly formatted on kindle and was obviously not proofread...
However, even with these issues, the sex is SO SO SO HOT, and the relationship between Simon and Jeremy is so sweet and tender. Everything feels very real and decently researched, for the most part.

I've read a few shorts starring Jeremy and Simon, so I was really happy to be able to find out how they met and what had happened. This was a great story. Jeremy is such a warm, straight forward person, it's sometimes hard to realize that he is a submissive. But he suits Simon to a T. Or should it be "tie" :)
Jeremy is such a loving person, and happily, Simon is able to reach him following his accident and make him realize that though Jeremy has been injured, it in no way changes how Simon feels for him.
Good story line, but as I mentioned in other Sean Michael books, the sex scenes are getting a little long. I enjoy them, usually, but find that the story itself is so good, that I have to move on and see what is going to happen next... after the sex :)

This is one of my favourite books of all time. I loved every moment reading it.
Jeremy and Simon meet at the Hammer and are instantly attracted to each other. Simon, the Dom, especially realises very quickly that Jeremy is the one for him, and their relationship works beautifully from the start.
When a terrible accident changes their lives they rely on friends from the club and learn to cope with the change.
Their love is special and they cherish that.
It's wonderful and I love happily recommend this to anyone who likes a beautiful love story with a healthy D/s partnership.

This was really not my type of book. Way way too much sex. The first 65% was nothing but sex. No plot or conflict whatsoever. I would have given up on it, except I absolutely hate not finishing things. The last 35% was better, but not enough to make me actually enjoy the book. Also I had a really hard time telling which character's head we were in or who was speaking. There were lots of sentences missing words or with extra words. And the constant one word sentences drove me crazy.

This has been one of my favorites in the series. I really liked the growth of the relationship between the two characters. The kinkiness was all there but the icing on the cake was how the author dealt with this newly formed couple and the sudden onset of a disability for one of them. Sean Michael did a great job of disproving the thought that bdsm and disabilities can't work together in a relationship.
