In communion with us through Tom Carpenter, a great teacher once known as Jesus answers questions about the nature of our physical life but describes our true reality as Spirit. A greater understanding of this Reality is the key to experiencing a personal expansion of peace, love, and joy in our life today. In this book, we more clearly see there is a choice between what we ourselves have made and experience as this often painful world, or of awakening to the remembrance of our innate, eternal Spirit. In these dialogues, Jesus, now teaching as the fully awakened Christ, shares how he awakened to this Reality and clarifies many of his own experiences when he too experienced this world. Many readers feel the information contained in this book has helped to change their lives.
I have both treasured and trashed ACIM ever sense I found it in 1986, but the fact is no matter what teaching I have delved into, ACIM is the only one that has answered the question everyone asks at one time or another in their lives, "How could GOD let this happen?" the answer, GOD doesn't even know this place exists, if HE did it would become Real and that would be a problem. So, what does that have to do with Dialogue on Awakening? One of the greatest frustrations I had with ACIM was it's ability to stir up new questions, but it did not give any practical answers for my every day living situation, Dialogue o Awakening did that in spades. It has actually taken a place of honor that was always reserved for Disappearance of The Universe, not that Disappearance isn't still important, it's just not my go to book any more. I always have a go to book when the course just gets to heavy to deal with on any particular day. I still struggle with how to unlearn everything that I've learned that makes this world of form so real, but I'm sure It's only a matter of time (which is not real either) Love You All, because your Me, I'm the only one here, Right? Well good luck to who ever you are????
Unbelievable! My ACIM group in Idaho can confirm: each week I ask a question about a situation and I open the page and it speaks to it SPECIFICALLY. Now, I have no specific questions..toward the end of the book it brings it all together in Onness...AMAZING!
This book came to me at just the right time. I had practiced A Course in Miracle for four years and shamanism for 10 years. So I had very practical experiences of both, but there were still answers I desired and this book's message, channeled from Jesus through the author, answered them in clear, everyday language. I have reread this book so many times that I've lost count, but I always find comfort in reading Jesus's words. Highly recommended.
I consider the Dialogue on Awakening as one of the important documents of all time. If people would read it with an open mind their lives would be transformed for the better. I’ve read this book nearly everyday since a copy was given to me in 1999. It is an inspiration from the first word to the last. My life has been transformed by it and continues to be transformed as I grow in understanding what it conveys.
The unfoldment of a mindfully spiritual context for living is what this book is totally about. I have a great appreciation for the channels who have allowed themselves to open to Jesus teachings coming to us through them. The Bible was perhaps our generations first experience, and as each revealer has come along, the teaching has deepened and become more authentic as an "inside job". Each personality/filter that allows themselves to be open to him, shows the ever deeper commitment to remembering who and how we are in Creation. Their revelations show all the steps along the Way. The question is: are we only seeking or are we finding?
