He wrecks his car in the middle of winter. When he wakes he has no clue as to who he is.
Ross "Jeb" Connelly wakes in an unknown place with no idea who he is. What he does know is the one who saved him, mechanic Dezerae Kerry, rouses protectiveness and desire in him with a sudden explosion, like flames being exposed to oxygen.
She thought she had everything she could desire. Until he ignited the passion inside her.
Dezerae loves her life restoring and repairing classic vehicles. A wintery night thrusts a handsome Southern stranger into her otherwise predicable world.
As his memory returns, piece by piece, his past may effect the future, the one Ross wants with her. Past and present collide in a fiery ball and she pulls away. Ross will do whatever it takes, risk any burn to keep her flame by him. Forever isn't long enough, not for this SEAL.

Finally, I've started this series. I am smacking my head and asking what took me so long. Navy SEALs, interracial. Am I crazy? Well, I have rectified my mistake, and I am a happy camper.
This was a really good book. Aliyah Burke is an excellent writer. Her voice is authentic and polished to the eyes, making for an enjoyable reading experience. Her characters are real life and likable, flaws and all. I loved Dezarae. She was unique and interesting. Her ethnicity was a part of who she was, but she was in no way a stereotype. I liked that she was normal-sized with muscles from the physical work she did, and she was sexy with it. I loved her independence and the fact that she was good at doing something she loved--restoring cars. I've never been into cars, but movies like Gone in 60 Seconds, XXX, and the Fast and the Furious movies have pricked my interest. I recognized the Shelby from Gone in 60 Seconds, which was awesome. I seriously love a heroine who has her own life going on, but at the same time, she's open and warm. Dezarae opened her heart and her life to Ross in two huge ways: she saved his life, and she gave his daughter a safe, warm home. How could you not love her? Another thing I loved about this book was how many male friends she had (and no, not in dirty-minded way). I like to see women having male friends and being able to fit into that world easily because of their mutual interests. They respected her for her personality and her car savvy. They accepted her for who she was and she was happy in her own skin. People do want to be around you when you are confident and outgoing, so it makes total sense. It makes me wonder if I need to get into this kind of hobby so I meet more guys (I'm kidding, mostly)! Too bad I don't have a bit of mechanical car sense other than how not to get ripped off by car mechanics! Anyway, Dezarae had wonderful texture and I loved her as a heroine. I would have loved to understand why she had trouble believing Ross really loved her. I'm guessing it had something to do with her failed relationship with Jack, but this isn't explained. Maybe the fear of loss from her father dying...
Ross was not only deliciously hot, he was a genuinely nice guy. He cracked me up with his possessive jealousy. I like that in a hero, and I like that he wasn't too irrational about it. He had to deal with the fact that his woman was the kind of woman that men liked being around, even on a platonic basis. For all of that, he didn't try to change her or mold her to fit his preconceived notions. He really found her sexy for who she was. I think he was a very good dad, and I liked seeing him with his daughter Charmane (and I feel her part added significantly to the book, and she wasn't just a plot point), and how natural it felt for them as a family with Dezarae. He did have some insecurities about being low on the totem pole in his Team, but he wasn't aggravating about it. Towards the end, he was tripping out some, but I forgive him!
As far as romance rating, I rate this high. It's very steamy and that was great. Burke writes great love scenes: hot and sensual without being a turnoff because of the raunch factor. The steam shows the feelings and the growing love between Dezarae and Ross. You could see although there was intense chemistry between them from the beginning, they don't jump right into bed, which was great. They give their feelings time to be real and not just about sex. And when they do get intimate, it's so much better!
I can tell that Burke does have some real-life understanding of the military. She writes a sexy, credible Navy SEAL hottie hero, but it feels realistic and deals with the hard realities of that life. I loved the friendship between Ross and his Team, and how they open up ranks around his new-found love. Although I haven't read the first two books, seeing the couples from those makes me eager to read them very soon. Of course, I will make sure I get all the books in this series (I think I have most of them already), because I definitely want to read more of SEAL Team Megalodon and the women they love.
I guess I'll have to give this five stars, 'cause I really liked it a lot!
I am about 5 pages into the book and already I'm annoyed!!! You DO NOT MOVE AN ACCIDENT VICTIM!!! SPINAL PRECAUTIONS!!!! Sometimes it sucks to be a nurse. You cannot ignore the ridiculous medical things in books!!! SPINAL CORD INJURY PEOPLE!!!! Ugh!!
I have read almost all of Aliyah Burke's Megalodon Team books, and this was my favorite out of them all! I loved how Dez and Ross met under such tragic, yet romantic circumstances; he an accident victim suffering from amnesia, and she an unlikely rescuer who retores old cars to their former glory. I loved how this beautiful interracial love story focused on Ross' need and desire to love Dezarae, and the lengths he took to achieve that love from her. Not to mention how well his precocious daughter was weaved into the fold. The characters were both lovable and infuriating at times (Dezarae's constant need to push Ross away) but the overall story worked. As with the books in this series, the handsome Alpha Navy SEAL always got his woman!!!!
This book had such a good baseline to it. I was very excited to read it.
It fell flat.... in a lot of places. So many things happened in the story that was not explained at all with the female lead. Like why did she just out of the blue start calling him a name that just happened to be his nickname. Why did she just randomly have a friend who pops up and tells her he will add 1200 sq ft to her house....no explanation.
Also the female lead was such a light and happy character, I loved that about her but she had such a good support system in her friends and community but why did she have trust issues bad? That was never even explained.
There was just a lot of little things like that, that made the story fall in the telling of it.
I was ok with the quick romance but they literally started having sexual feeling for each other about 1 hour after she found him dying in the snow.... that was just a little much.
Dezarae Phoenix Kerry took care of an amnesiac accident victim during a winter storm. In getting to know each other, they could not fight the attraction for each other. When Jeb's Megaladon SEAL team finally finds him and his memory is restored, he doesn't want to leave his chocolate firebird, but duty calls. Ross ' daughter Charmane runs away from an abusive mother to the very woman his father had sung praises of. Fast becoming attached to each other Charm and Precious Connelly is thriving in Dez's care. Ross is determined to keep Dez in his and his daughter's life through anyway possible. As couples often have disagreements, Dez and Ross have to work through conflict when Dez made a sacrifice so her Johnny Reb could keep permanent custody of his daughter.
This was an enjoyable easy read romance. With love over ruling stubbornness and pride, they were able to move ahead with their blended family for their well earned HEA.
i enjoyed the story. although the dialogue was a bit cheesy it certainly wasn't the worst i've read just this week. and i wasn't a huge fan of Dez. i just couldn't understand all the kisses she gave her male friends. it was like she wasn't even aware she was in a relationship sometimes. now im no prude but at some point it was like, okay, i get it; there are other men interested in her. it didn't seem to fit the "safe and pure girl from a small town" vibe i got from reading the first few chapters with over-protective Dale.
4.5 stars. This book had made me happy, sad and angry. How can a mother, does not want her child. What pissed me off! Connelly ex wife told Ross that he would give him the daughter for the price of $250,000. WTF, oh I was livid. Oh but Desarea, what a heart she has it was gold, from saving him to saving his daughter, was beautiful. That girl had a good head on her shoulders. It was so cute how they interact with each other while his daughter was around, how she finally told him she was in love with him and she had forgive him. Bravo!
Dezarae meets Ross after saving him on the side of the road after an accident. There is chemistry but he is missing gaps in his memory due to his injuries.
I started out liking this book, but became bored by the end. I get annoyed with heroines that spend the whole book questioning the heroes motives for being attracted to her. This is especially annoying, if every male in her vicinity is jumping through hoops to curry her favor.
AWESOME READ!!!!! The Entire Series Is A Great Recommend To Anyone Looking for Romance,Passion, Spice, Excitement, Action, And Ofcourse Love All Rolled Into One. I've Read Each One More Than Twice And Each Time Reading Was Like The First.
Loved the heroine and how talented she was. It was good to read a story about how a woman can be successful in a career mostly associated with men. Loved the relationships between Dezarae and all make characters, though at times it seemed unrealistic given she lived in red state in the middle of nowhere. Though I liked the hero , the romance did not just do it for me. Also it did not sit well with me that his ex for away with selling the daughter. With the type of jobs the do and the connections they should have been able to destroy the ex who was essentially an unattractive skinny uneducated person.
I loved Ross and Dezarae story. This was good love story between these too people,I loved Charmane very wise for her age. It was good to see all the team mate again as well as Lexi. I am so looking forward to reading the rest of the teams story. I love reading Aliyah’s books they are really good reads. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone. Thank you Aliyah please keep writing these great stories.
Dezarae Kerry stumbles upon Navy SEAL Ross Connelly, who is suffering memory loss after being in a bad car accident. She takes Ross back to her home and takes care of him until he is well. As the two people learn more about one another they develop strong feelings, but unexpected responsibilities and doubts threaten to tear them apart.
I liked this book slightly better than the last in the series, Harrier's Healer, but noticed the same things happening. A strong Navy SEAL falls head over heels for a woman and she does everything within her power to screw it up. All of the doubts Dezarae possessed grated my nerves. No matter how many times Ross told her he loved her, she would act like it was nothing or he was lying. However, in her thoughts, she practically screamed how much she loved the man and wished he would marry her. I found this behavior exhausting and, like the last book, hoped the hero would just stop pursuing someone who doesn't know how to express her feelings and move on with his life. Love shouldn't be this hard and aggravating.
The other thing that really stuck out to me was the number of men in Dezarae's life. Outside of her relationship with Ross, Dezarae seemed like a pretty cool person, but every man in her life was in love with her. If they didn't want to marry her, they were showering her with kisses and telling her how much they loved her. I started to feel the hint of a 'Mary Sue' situation. Not only were all of these men, from the Sheriff's son to random clients, madly in love with Dezarae, but they were all incredibly good looking. I guess this was a way for Ross to show his possessiveness and jealousy, but it was a little excessive.
All in all, this book was okay, but I don't think I'll be reading the other books in the Megalodon Team series. The Team members are great, passionate men, but the female leads are too frustrating, annoying and seemingly stupid, especially when it comes to love.
Ok. So I liked half of this book. More specifically, the half without too much of the H. Honestly, the first half where H has lost his memory annoys the crap out of me- I mean, if you wake up in a stranger's house not knowing Jack from Mary-Sue, not knowing your own freaking name, I'm pretty sure sex wouldn't be your first priority.
Now the second half - spoiler here - surrounding the H's daughter, was cute, funny and downright amusing to read. It's when the H comes back with his priority problems and domineering tendencies that I get frustrated.
He didn't grovel at all for being an ungrateful jerk, wasn't understanding towards her at all, and oh, let's keep her around by ejaculating inside her. Who thinks like this?!
Everything but the H was great in this story. Sorry for the mini rant. Also, writing improves as the story progresses, so good work there.
The h however, was kickass, awesome, talented and downright cool. She was kind and intelligent, passionate and was dammed good at what she did. She was truly an amazing h that I loved reading about- I just wished her H was a better guy.
Overall, a good read, amusing story and a really awesome h and kid. The independence and self confidence of the h is the only reason this gets a 3 stars, I was seriously leaning towards 2 til the second half.
4 stars. Connelly, Johnny Reb., and Dezarie, his flame, have a delightful story that is well written. The author skillfully leads the reader through the current and back stories of the characters and connects all the dots (obstacles) in their paths to happiness to bring about a favorable conclusion. The one caveat is Connelly's tattoo, the rebel flag topped by an anchor, which represents the theme behind this story and is often referenced. The anchor represents the Navy Seal Team. The flag represents him as one who at some point in his life felt superior to and dislike for the ethnicity of the person who saves his life and who he eventually starts to love; his ex-wife's hatred of Dezarie is referenced, but Connelly never really addresses it.
This was an easy read, I didn't connect much with the characters probably the storyline was a little far out there.
I liked that Dezarae did what a lot of people would consider a "Mans" job but at the same time I hated it. I didn't want her to be barefoot and pregnant but I also was bored with the sole focus being the cars and then it went on and on about each and every type of car with great detail. Probably because I am not into cars at all but that part of the story line bored me to no end.
The reason for the 2.5 stars was due to Ross honestly, He never gave up really which made him grow on me.
The rest is just so far fetched it was hard to even wrap my head around it honestly.
I enjoyed this book just like the other books so far in the series. I liked Ross very much and Dez too! I totally loved the fact that she was a car restorer!!! That was an awesome career for a lone black chick to have, in Montana to boot!!!!! LOL! She had her moments when she was working my nerves being so damned scared of what her feelings for Ross meant, but it was still a good read. No one says the loving should be easy for these men to get just because they want it when they want it!!!! I suggest this for anyone who loves a sexy ass military man!!!!
Frustration with these Alpha male is not possible! Ross has lost his memory and all knows is Dezerae, the woman who recused him. He just feels trust and control with her. After his team finds him, he regains his memory and a determination to make Dezerae his permanently. After a surprise lands on her doorstep, can Dezerae trust her growing feelings and his declarations of love?
Lovely story and it grew out my emotions to the point I almost stopped reading it, BUT I am so glad I didn't. Very nice!
I enjoyed this book. I think it is my yacht of the series so far. I liked the growth between Dez, Ross and Charmane. They had some serious obstacles to overcome. I will be reading the next book soon.
I still enjoyed this story. I liked Dez's strong character, but the number of males she dealt with would drive any man to question things, especially without truly establishing their relationship. I did drop this from a 4 to a 3. While I do like the plot, the editing and sometimes the repetitiveness was annoying.
i waited a long to purchase this book only because i thought the price would drop, well it never happen. this is the second book i read from the megalodon series.i don't plan on read the hold series anyway just the one i feel interest in. honesty i really don't have to much to say about this book because are other reader with there opinion. anyway i will say this i appreciate a strong heroine that stand behind her man or hero lol.
I highly recommend this novel and the whole series. The heroine was not your average character and I loved her whole overall-wearing-tom-boy-car-fixing persona. She was a REALLY enjoyable and unique character and worked very well with the hero. My only real issue was how the issue with Ross' ex-wife was handled. Seriously, one quick call to the police and a lawyer and that's all it would have taken to resolve it.
This story was really one of a kind. I didn't expect the whole restoring cars angle, but it added something special here. Dez wasn't the typical light skinned, long haired, light eyes black women. She was muscular, thick, and restored old cars. She was a lot more relatable than other heroines. I love how she stepped up for Ross in so many ways, she was really a gem. This series just gets better as it goes along.
I liked it and the others in the series but there is one major bug bear. Not sure if its just the formatting on the Kindle but lots of words are linked together or typed together which can make reading it less enjoyable. I had this problem with all the books (4 or 5) I have read from the Megalodon team. Therefore I will request a refund from Amazon.
I am so confused about book 3, the misspelled words and word places made it really hard to read. I really like the second book in the series and I don't remember that many errors. Anyway really enjoy reading this series, will more than likely purchase the next book.
