This had such amazing fables. They really made me think. There was a story about giving hug but really being in the moment and taking 3 deep breaths and being there for the other person. People see zen and think of meditation but there is so much more to it.

Just finished reading Zen Fables by Richard McLean. Stories inspired by the Zen Masters. A refreshing and modern look at Zen. Me, who likes to study how everyone believes, enjoyed this simple approach.

It may have been amazing because I read it for a professor that was absolutely phenomenal and taught this book with extreme passion!

Quite interesting, a very very light intro to some zen stories and thoughts. Definetly would like to read something with more depth. Lori

Kinda mid. Perhaps I'm not enlightened enough to see the beauty in these zen stories, but most were immemorable.
