It’s only been 18 months since the 50 year resource war ended in nuclear fire. Now everyone must contend with the new super predator seeking to establish its place as the new apex predator. D is a marine raider with one simple mission. Reach Three Mile Island. To do this he’ll have to cross a nuclear wasteland of sunless cold and sheering winds. Avoid the new mutated apex creature that controls this new world and be wary of anyone else also looking to reach Three Mile Island. He’ll either do it or kill every person and animal he can trying to do it.

Editorial Ultimatum by Vladimir Jepthe Fleurisma is a dystopian science fiction novel set in the not-too-distant future after a man-made global catastrophe. The most precious natural resources have been annihilated and a massive science experiment has gone wrong, bringing with it a plague and a wholly preventable anomaly in the form of genetically modified and mutated beasts. On the brink of a new world order, the emergence of a new apex creature requires an immediate stop. Multiple characters whose points of view are delivered by an omniscient narrator form the cast around the main protagonist, a Marine named D, who is tasked with getting to Three Mile Island at any cost.

Ultimatum by Vladimir Jepthe Fleurisma reads like the love child of Mad Max, Jurassic Park, and Ready Player One, except we don't know who the father is, so they all raise it together. There is gaming, there is an alpha male and desolate landscapes, and there are mutant creatures that have no business roaming the Earth. Fleurisma's talent in this genre-bending novel lies in two main areas. The first is in his ability to craft an almost cinematic landscape whether it is an actual place or within the construct of a game. The second is the sizzle, of which there is plenty, and it's well-written. This is a behemoth of a novel but the pacing is swift so it feels quite a bit shorter. I loved the deadpan narrative and D's character, who is thoroughly developed. Those who surround him are not given any less fleshing out and the standouts were Zach and D's sometime lover, Cella. The story has about a thousand different ways it could evolve, including a prequel that would likely be just as exciting as a follow-up and I look forward to seeing where Fleurisma takes us next.

What I like about this book is that it is a quick read because it pulls you in and you can’t stop reading. There is plenty of action and suspense. There is humor and action. Fleurisma did a great job with the details, too. You can almost see the surroundings as if watching a movie as you read. If you enjoy sci-fi, this book is for you.

There wasn't anything to dislike in this book. The character development in this book is one of the best I have seen. The deadpan narrative and D's character are thoroughly developed. I think I will give this book a 5 out of 5 stars rating. In the upcoming novel, I'm interested to see where Fleurisma takes these characters. I'm hoping it'll hold my interest just as much as the first did. On the off chance, try this one. You won't be let down, in my opinion. I was not, I am sure. There is no denying Fleurisma's brilliance. I'm so happy I came across this writer. I'll keep an eye out for any new products that appear on the market. The editing was exceptional. There wasn't a single error.

Sci-Fi Perfection

Vladimir Fleurisma has knocked it out did the park with the first in this series. If you enjoy Sci-Fi this book is for you. The book is based in a futuristic time where an almost apocalyptic event has taken place. Anyone surviving is lacking food, suffering from radiation sickness, avoiding the virus and the mutants killing anything they can.

The main character D is a marine who will do anything to get to Three Mile Island. It was kind of cool reading a book that refers to a location I live very near. The read is full of other characters you will get to know along the way. The book is a quick read because it pulls you in and you can’t stop reading.

There is plenty of action and suspense. There is humor and action. Fleurisma did a great job in the details too. You can almost see the surroundings as if watching a movie as you read. This book will make a good movie at some point. Mini series in the making! A mini series I would watch.

I am anxious to see where Fleurisma rakes these characters in the next book. I am hoping it will pull me in as much as the first. Take a chance and give this one a try. I don’t think you will be disappointed. I know I was not. Fleurisma has a definite talent. I’m so glad I found this author. I will be on the look out for anything new that hits the shelves!

Vlаdimir Fleurismа's ''Ultimаtum'' depicts the thrilling journey into a post-apocаlyptic universe that skillfully combines dystopian, action, and science fiction themes. Fleurismа creates a story that engrosses readers in its compelling narrative. It is a race of survival.... brimming with treachery and unrelenting action. This science fiction аdventure unfolds within the short span of 18 months after a catаstrophic fifty year resource war that culminated in a terrible nuclear disaster. The protagonist of the tale is D, a marine raider whose main goal is to get to Three Mile Islаnd.

But the route to this location is dangerous.... mutаted predаtors and a nuclear wasteland of coldness stand in his way but he's not giving up. 'Ultimаtum'' is unique because of its superb character development. D is a bonаfide, well-developed protаgonist. Even the secondary characters are skillfully portrayed... I was enthralled by the scope of mystery that was created by the cryptic Hаnk. As the narrative progressed I was completely determined to discover the truth about Hank's motivations especially the longer they remаined hidden. The story is made more complex by Cellа, D's on again/ off again girlfriend. The motivations, actions and conversаtions among these intriguing chаracters are аuthentic and provide depth to the entire storyline.

''Ultimаtum's'' world-building is realistic and evocative. Fleurismа's writing style enables readers to mentally envision the bleak landscapes and terrifying mutated creatures in this fascinating tale. Fleurismа is an extraordinary writer who can create an engaging reading experience for his readers. The plot is visually interesting and captivating because of his meticulous аttention to detail. Fleurismа skillfully crafts a story that captivates you as soon as you start reading the novel... You can almost feel the danger and urgency in this heart stopping tale.... making it difficult to put down. I recommend this pulsating post-apocаlyptic novel to fans of the genre.... it will keep you on your toes the entire time.

Ultimatum, by Vladimir Fleurisma, presents a compelling narrative set in a post-apocalyptic landscape marked by war and the presence of menacing creatures. The novel opens with the character of Thomas, who finds himself wrestling with personal issues amidst a backdrop of global political turmoil and escalating conflict. The story then intriguingly shifts to a character known simply as D, who braves a perilous, creature-laden subterranean world.

Fleurisma's writing style is notably vivid and engaging. He excels in crafting rich, detailed descriptions and dialogues that bring the post-apocalyptic setting to life. His narrative skillfully balances action and emotional depth, employing suspense and horror elements to captivate the reader. The desolate landscapes and the characters' inner turmoil are portrayed with remarkable clarity and depth. The characters in the story are thoughtfully fleshed out, each endowed with their unique backstories and complexities. Initially, at the forefront of the story, Thomas is depicted as a man confronting personal challenges while navigating a world in disarray. D emerges as a particularly fascinating character whose journey through hazardous environments showcases resilience and complexity. The interactions among the characters, their evolution throughout the tale, and their engagement with the dystopian world they inhabit are pivotal to the unfolding narrative.

Ultimatum stands out as a suspenseful and intricate exploration of a dystopian reality. Fleurisma's skillful use of descriptive language and his focus on character development result in an enthralling reading experience. This novel not only reflects Fleurisma's talent in constructing a multifaceted story but also succeeds in keeping readers thoroughly engaged, making it a notable addition to the genre.

Exciting, fast-paced, and well-written - a must-read for sci-fi fans!

I recently finished reading Ultimatum by Vladimir Jepthe Fleurisma and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed! The book had me hooked from the very beginning with its highly imaginative and intense post-apocalyptic world. The characters were well-developed, and their dialog felt believable and natural.

One of my favorite aspects of the book was the descriptive way the scenes were put together. The fast pace of the writing and the intense action scenes kept me on the edge of my seat. I found myself rooting for D, the Marine raider on a mission to reach Three Mile Island, and was fascinated by the new mutated apex creature that controlled this new world.

The book was a quick read because it pulled me in and I couldn't stop reading. The humor and action were perfectly balanced, and the details were so well-crafted that I could almost see the surroundings as if watching a movie as I read.

I also appreciated the multiple perspectives provided by the omniscient narrator, which allowed me to get a better sense of the world and its inhabitants. The story has about a thousand different ways it could evolve, including a prequel, and I can't wait to see where Fleurisma takes these characters next.

Overall, Ultimatum is a highly entertaining and engaging read. It's fast-paced and intense, with well-developed characters and a believable narrative. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves sci-fi or dystopian fiction.

The military is in a mission to stop certain types of creatures resulting from an immense failure in a scientific experiment. Ultimatum is a dystopian science fiction by Vladimir Fleurisma that makes the heart pound immensely as well.

With only nineteen 30-caliber bullets in his rifle and knives in his boots, no food and medicine, D strives to survive in a tunnel. A piece of cake, indeed. The Three Mile Island might not be.

D is with fellow military officers, others are high ranking officials, even civilians. Quite a dilemma in the hands of the marine raider in the perilous Three Mile Island. Will they survive? Will the world be saved?

Ultimatum is an energy consuming read, an action-packed novel highlighting humanity, survival, responsibility, technological and scientific innovations, physical and military prowess. It tells the significance of the world's reliance on the naval and military prowess in a worldwide crisis. The one in Ultimatum is heroic and outstanding. There is nothing that I dislike in the book. Therefore I give this book a four-star rate for an exhilarating and intensifying plot of the story. The merging of different characters is another one adding up to the intensity.

Hence I recommend this novel for all types of readers, the science fiction lovers, and those with the amount of energy for the suspense themes.

Interesting post-apocalyptic story, but needs editing.

"Ultimatum" by Vladimir Fleurish is a riveting science fiction novel set in a distant future marred by the aftermath of a catastrophic science experiment gone awry. The narrative unfolds in the wake of genetically modified and mutated beasts wreaking havoc, demanding urgent intervention. Fleurish's imaginative storytelling captivates from the outset, delivering a fast-paced and engaging plot complemented by well-developed characters.

The strength of the novel lies in its creative premise and descriptive world-building, drawing readers into a thrilling and immersive experience. However, while the storyline shines brightly, the writing style occasionally falters, with some passages proving challenging to follow. Despite this, "Ultimatum" remains a compelling read, showcasing Fleurish's talent for crafting an enthralling tale within the science fiction genre. Though it could benefit from editorial polish, the novel's overall impact is undeniable, making it a worthwhile addition to any reader's collection.

Strange and fantastic.

Ultimatum is a gripping sci-fi thriller by Vladimir Fleurisma, set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland after a nuclear war. The story follows D, a tough marine raider with a critical mission - traverse the harsh landscape to reach Three Mile Island against violently unfavorable odds. Alongside zombie-esque mutants and scavenging gangs, D faces the book's namesake: a cunning new apex predator, intent on domination. Fleurisma excels in vivid world-building, crafting intense action sequences across the blighted terrain. The deadpan narrative mirrors the bleakness, while allowing characters like D and his allies to shine all the more brightly. Peppered with wry humor and sci-fi loving touches, this cinematic thriller offers genre fans a treat. Moving at a blistering pace despite its length, Ultimatum will leave readers thrilled yet demanding more from Fleurisma's skillfully built post-apocalyptic playground of mayhem.

This post-apocalyptic thriller throws you into a world where nuclear winter isn't even the worst of your problems.

Just don't expect to sleep easy after some of these scenes—Fleurisma doesn't hold back when it comes to the horror elements.

I wasn't crazy about the way the prose was written. For example, "D glances at Hank again and steps back" could have been: D glanced at Hank again and stepped back. I prefer a third-person narrative to be past tense. There are formatting errors at the beginning of Chapters 14, 22, and 36. Way too many breaks throughout the book, especially toward the end where you'll come across 2-3 on some pages. The novel should be a lot cleaner. This can be fixed by hiring an editor and releasing an updated version. Editing issues aside, this sci-fi story is promising. The mutated apex creature was insidious. Hopefully the sequel will be better.

good story

Raw and rough fight for survival in a post apocalyptic world where after nuclear bombs and a science experiment gone wrong, survival against both the climate and man eating creatures, is to say the least … a bit tough.
Fitting to the story the main characters are tough and I routed for them wanting them to survive.
The plot is good and the fight for survival gripping.
However, from the beginning I struggled with lots of sections having to read them several times to understand what was happening. With a professional edit (and a lot of cutting) this could easily be a 5* book.

An Imaginative Post-Apocalyptic Story

In Ultimatum, the world is in chaos, with genetically modified monsters causing mayhem. The stakes are clearly high, and the novel is fast-paced, drawing readers in from the beginning. I enjoyed the creativity and the different POVs, but there are several editing errors (i.e., typos, spelling mistakes, incorrect grammar, etc.) that detract from the finished product, and some of the dialogue feels unnatural. Still, fans of post-apocalyptic fiction (and video games like Fallout) will surely enjoy this story!

It was a little hard to follow in the beginning and, interestingly enough, started clearing up once we got to the mutated things hunting in packs, moving at incredible speed, and striking with eerie savagery. From that point onward, the book was easier to read.

It's a page-turner! It keeps you guessing and on edge. It's in need of a good edit, but you don't mind the little stumbling points so much.

I'm eager for the next installment!!!
