Becoming Bobbie is a heartfelt, character driven journey of identity, transformation, and self-acceptance. R.J. Stevens writes with emotional depth and authenticity, drawing readers into Bobbie’s world with an unflinching look at what it means to discover and rediscover who you truly are.

The narrative moves at a steady pace, blending introspection with sharp dialogue and vivid scenes. Bobbie is a compelling protagonist: flawed, searching, and undeniably human. Stevens captures the nuances of personal growth, making the story both intimate and universally relatable.

At times, the plot leans more into internal development than external action, which may feel slow for readers looking for high drama. But for those who appreciate emotional honesty and thoughtful exploration of identity, this book delivers with grace and sincerity.

Overall, Becoming Bobbie is a powerful, poignant read not flashy, but quietly brave. It invites reflection and lingers long after the final page.

The writing lacks in areas that I would normally pick apart, some of the storylines convenient little plots etc. but in the end it was sweet in a way that I scoff at now, and yet also in a way that I would have loved as a teenager, I wish I'd read this book when I actually got it all those years ago.

I liked it a lot. A coming of age but so much more than that ! More than once I had to wink away a tear. Not of sadness but of .... it just touched right through. Very glad I read it and I would certainly recommend to be read.
