It’s a complex organisation to explain and to some degree the current story has evolved again. This edition stops in 1990 so misses the successful assassination of Giovanni Falcone and arguably the larger attempts to silence the Mafia - but today maybe it’s a story about how Corleonesi Mafia has just been replaced by the Ndrangheta, however, the centrality of the drugs trade hasn’t changed. There’s some shocking statistics about the rise of heroin and indeed the inability (or undesirability) of the law enforcement agencies in cracking down on the spread.
