Did you know that in July 2007, the social networking service MySpace identified and removed twenty-nine thousand known sex offenders' profile from its Web site? Yes, twenty-nine thousand profiles. The book, Should Social Networking Web Sites Be Banned by Roman Espejo, talks about the many positive and negative aspects of Social Networks such as sex offenders, which is bad obviously. Though the book itself relies heavily on the works and ideas of other people, each point presented is from someone else, it still offers very solid points on both sides. From social networking being dangerous for children to being used as a way to teach kids at school, this book gives several different arguments to whether or not social networking should be banned as a whole. It's shown a lot of things about the issue I would have never thought about otherwise. It even talks about the military aspect of it, which was pretty interesting I suppose. Overall though, I found the book not that interesting, so I felt like I was forcing myself to read and finish a book that was generally boring to me. Especially since I don't really use social networking sites that much, unless you consider Youtube as one. I only decided to read this book because I thought I might as well give something different a try, but it was not enjoyable for me. So I'd recommend this book for those who have interest or opinion in the issue of social networking. I strongly don't recommend this book to those who have no interest in arguments presented in books or no interest in social networks. As a result, I give this book a two out of five stars.
